Seems a bit harsh, man. Admin has been all over the boards, answering questions, asking for opinions, explaining things for the 100th time. I whine and grouse a lot, but it's because I love this game, I have faith in the development team, and I'm resigned to being here for the long haul. Do you honestly think they mean to miss deadlines, or just don't care? I guarantee you they don't enjoy the wall of whiny babies insulting their every move. From the get go, we were told this is alpha. Expect bugs, delays, broken game mechanics, missed target dates, etc. Alpha is not an excuse, it is a fact of software development.

I invite you to put yourself in their shoes, having to deal with all of us whiny entitled babies that need their diapers changed.

AYE!  Well said mate, well said indeed.  I raise my bottle of Rum in Salute to you lad!

  2. I replaced my Graphics Card a few days ago...went from a EVGA Nvidia GeForce 750Ti to a XFX Radeon RX470.  With the 750 Ti will full settings in-game I was around 18-20 FPS in battle, and 25-30 FPS during OW.  With the XFX, my performance took a nice boost in the right direction!  On full settings in-game during battle I'm hitting around 38-50 FPS and around 50-65 FPS in Open world.

The Nividia had 2GB Ram @ 128.0 bit Memory Interface and the XFX is 4GB Ram @ 256.0 bit Memory Interface.  (Don't overlook your memory interface...try to install a card with the highest interface possible that your system will support...and that you can afford.  Will help greatly with "Bottle Necking"

Note: The graphics with the GeForce 750 Ti are slower...but were smoother as with all Nvidia type cards...the ATI is rougher but not by much...would never really notice without a trained eye.

Simply put, I'm happy with it...I could over-clock the card but NA and all my other games are running fine with the factory settings.  Once NA is optimized I will look at it again for OC or possibly Cross Fire in they end up supporting that feature!

Call me crazy but I would reset all :) including XP and Level. What do you think ? It would be the same for everyone and provide a true clean new test phase.

You know something mate, that's a great point.  It would allow for a clean restart with the upcoming wipe/patch.  I would not mind starting over from scratch if it would benefit the testing and Naval Action as a whole, However I can only speak for myself and not my fellow Captians.  A full wipe/reset would be beneficial in the long run but I fear the Devs would have a Mutiny on their hands?

  4. Good Post Joba...good post indeed.  I see where you, and many more of my fellow mates are coming from.  I only hope with the upcoming wipe and patch that perhaps our fortunes will turn.  You made many good points and it makes you think..."he's bloody right!  That happened to me yesterday!"  I found myself reflecting on my latest sessions in game, well before we found out about an upcoming wipe...you are right my friend, the servers do seem...well... DEAD.  Hardly any life to speak of.... There were times when I would patrol for hours in enemy waters hoping, praying...and praying some more for a PvP contact...only to find nothing but ridiculously over powered NPC fleets with BR of a flipping MILLION!   ? (Another rant, don't get me going on that one...). I feel your pain mate, see where you are coming from.  Guess we will see at the end of April eh?

  5. My system is by no means a current "Gaming System",  and she may be a bit antiquated by today's standards.  But I have no issue running Naval Action on full settings.  The first step would be to run a full system diagnostic...look for out dated system drivers, mainboard, graphics, chipset drivers, etc.  make sure everything is up to date. Make sure your Operation System is up to date with all latest drivers and updates. And give your system a good cleaning...get rid of old junk files and crud that is taking up space on your drives.

Second, Naval Action as it stands now is a highly Graphics Intense game so go over your graphics card with some love...make sure all graphics and related drivers are up to date...worst case you may need a newer card.  There are many good graphics cards on the market that will support and run Naval Action like a BOSS!  And the good news is these cards are very well priced.  You don't need some 500 dollar card to run this game.

Also if updating your graphics card pay special attention to the card's "memory bus"  is it 128-bit? or is it 256-bit or above?  If you are running a 128-bit memory bus graphics card you will likely "bottle neck" the game and performance, try to go with a card with a minimum of 256-bit memory bus, It's night and day with the speed and performance...

Hope this helps you out a bit there Lad!

  6. I apologize lads in advance if this has already been reported...however last night while cruising just North of the Rookie Player Area, just of the French port of Walker's Cay.  I noticed that the port was missing it's flag.  Not a huge deal but I did F-11 and send a snapshot with description to the developers.  Just wanted to post up about it and see if any of my fellow Captains had seen this as well.

Next question that comes to my mind - what will be the location of Global server? Considering the fact that it should decent enough for Americans and Australians to be playable at all. Network optimizations, new server location other than Germany most likely, connection improvements etc.

This is a very good and important question lads and lassies... being in the Southwestern United States the last thing I want to see is a "Ping" reading of a 1000...!  And hopefully we will see some updates/improvements on the connection side of  the world.

  8. Lads, perhaps this has already been said, but this humble Pirate would like to see some CREW on our ships while sailing in Open World.  Sailing around in Open World with no crew on the decks of our ships, up in the rigging, etc. gives it the feeling of sailing a ghost ship!  I'm sure with the current graphics engine being utilized in Naval Action this can be done without giving up performance?  Not saying we need to have 300+ animated crew running around, but some crew would be a great addition to the feel and fun of sailing in Open World.  If the devs can program crew running your ship during engagements, then by God we can have them while in Open World...!  Hoozah!

Ya see Lads...THIS is what happens when you get into the Rum!

  9. Well we could add a RISK for anyone who would like to partake in the AFK Fishing Fleets...If you stay at anchor too long as you are away from your keyboard, we could have a Giant Kraken from time to time come up out of the depths and drag your ship and crew to the bottom...LOL  Would be interesting to gamble your ship and crew if you are AFK...

    Just an idea...
