How will a minimum battle time eliminate counter-tags? People will still do it to get start the battle in a position of their choosing.
I mean defensive counter tags eg by traders.
You can do that...but in the meantime that the battle goes over you risk to be reached by other ships by the time you get out of battle. Now you get out in 2 minutes and gain invulnerability after that, so nothing to lose, but if you have eg. 10' of minimum time, in those 10' the pursuer may not catch you, but by the time you get out of battle you might find yourself surrounded or chased by a faster ship.

Since we now start with guns unloaded, such thing that i don't understand, shouldn't the escape timer be longer at the beginning of the battle?
Maybe introduce a minimum battle time, this will eliminate "counter tag" too.

Planning to remove AI economy, towns may run out of goods without anyone knowing, having simple missions as "this place needs this!" would be very nice. Extending them to smuggling black market with higher risk yet higher rewards.

You're basically asking to have more infos but in a rendere, visual form; wich i agree on this, but might be more difficult at the moment than just having things on a didplay. (Like having actual crew, cannons, damage visible)
-
Simply as it is: i would like to see more informations about ships in the OW, like damage status, armament, perhaps national flag on them. This could be implemented to use the same system like in battle instances now that we have spyglasses in OW.
-
This has already been discussed in many topics. Best view of it in my opinion: let the Ai do the work in OW with the risks that come with it.
-
I like the idea of having AI do some of the hard and long work, but it has to happen in the actual OW, with every risk that comes with it.
Translated: If you don't want to do that work and don't want to pay someone else to do it, you can hire a fisherman to do a captain's job. And best of luck with that.

Maybe building shipyard will allow you to dock more ships, always considerining the size limitations

- rammer loses all boarding preparation, 5% of the remaining crew and a moderate number of cannons due to the heavy impact. Depends on the speed of course.
Completely legit
-
In my view, ramming should cause armor damage and might cause catastrophic rigging damage to both ships, but as the admin says i don't see the direct leak damage point.
-
And higher fees for higher Rank ships of course. But if you can't teleport to/from it i don't really see how you could use it, if not to buy a new ship there. Anyway cool feature to have, just in case.

your one colummn is "broadside weight" but you count both of the ship's cannon - sides.
yer gotta have to divide it by two, sir
Corrected, thank you sir.
and it depends on which cannons are used
It is calculated using gun caliber from the wiki, wich i suppose is the maximum allowed.

I just made this chart with the data from the wiki for quick reference and comparison, fell free to share and suggest. Editors wanted to keep it up to date with new ships and relevant data.

Perhaps we should wait for Admiralty and prize mechanics, so No. It is a capture, way more valuable at this time than a sinking. Therefore should have its own mechanics.
I agree; but if that is goingo to take a long time for the devs, it may be a good temporary solution.

I would say no, as dividing players in online games and communities is the worst thing you can do.
But if others do have their own, why not italian?

Actually there where ways of knowing one's position, we definitely need some map tools and the ability to “set course" in OW; being able to trace a course on the map knowing the exact azimuth and to steer the ship there, no autopilot, just a better compass. (And maybe a sextant if you get lost in the middle of the sea)

I'm new, and i don't know if this was posted already;but here's my proposal.
Add civilian sub-factions and neutrals (in place of pirates sub-faction). As a civilian captain you have to pay your crew and you don't get orders from the admiralty and some other malus (? i don't know,i am not the game developer here) but you can enter other nations ports (perhaps depending on the diplomatic situation?). As a civilian captain under a national flag you build up reputation for that nation and you will be able to fully join that nation reached a certain level, becoming member of the fleet and not having to pay your own sailors anymore. As true neutral you don't get this and you can always enter any port (building up VERY little reputation by trading) but you also don't get any military support against pirates and raiders.
This will allow anyone to leave their nation and joining another one, thus requiring a bit of time and play.
Interesting extra: pirates will have to pay a fee to become neutrals and start back up, simulating getting some forged documents or whatever.
Thank you for your time.

No more admiralty capture prizes planned? Or they will be available once you arrive back to port?
Will you get your crew back for free or you will have to pay for them again?
