  1. Naval Action at its current stage is very successful for all players, whether they are traders, pirates or sailors for the factions navy; but there is something lacking in making all these extremely risky, profitable and highly competitive. 1st, for those players who love to trade more than face combat. The consumption of all goods need to be raised to make it more likely to find somewhere that traders get a profit. I've found that many towns/ports have huge amounts of goods (which they consume and love to buy). BUT their consumption is so low, that the price to sell the goods to them is below what players usually manage to buy them. Raising the consumption and perhaps reducing the supply can make trading more competitive as in 1600s-1800s, speed was what got you the trade, and then the money. 2nd, if the profit margins are raised for the traders, the consequence for them will be greater. Those players who play for one thing, piracy; will more than welcome the change of supply and demand. This will attract more players to the game for traders and pirates with the prices and profits possible. The onset of item prices at the supplier and the consumer will make trade so profitable people will conduct it so often, that other players raid the traders and their respective trade routes rather than pay a penny to get hold of the goods. 3rd, with goods becoming more valuable and player/A.I. traders being raided, it will encourage more people to group together and work together for the good of their factions town/ports; making buy prices lower when they get good to those towns/ports. It would also encourage more clans to form to profit from protecting trade and beating pirates to the jump when it gets to taking out the competition and trying to enforce market control. 4th, what would encourage more and more people to the game is if there are major irreversible events which affect each faction. One idea i believe would be very efficient would be Faction Treasure Fleets (F.T.F.'s). For example, each faction having its own F.T.F will not only attract more pirates and military ships but also the traders. If each faction has a Treasury Warehouse in the faction capital (e.g. Kingston) the treasure fleet of that faction will head to it. Players in the faction (e.g. Great Britain) can contribute any commodity to the warehouse; the more valuable the better when the F.T.F. arrives. If it does arrive, the treasure fleet buys up the goods for 2x the price to all players that had goods contributed to the warehouse. However, should any enemy faction, traitor, pirate or otherwise natural causes sink or capture the F.T.F or capture the capital; ALL goods contributed to the treasury warehouse are lost. This will really rake in the competition between all the playable factions in preventing their enemies from getting hold of huge sums of gold. It would further encourage more players to protect their factions assets. Considering the possible profit margins people can get, if they dump 1000 tonnes of gold ingots into the warehouse or equivalent; the F.T.F shouldn't be to common. I'd personally suggest that the F.T.F arrives in the Caribbean every 7 days (real time) to make it a huge and highly competitive event in which players can choose to hang around their F.T.F or go and attempt to delay, sink or capture an enemy F.T.F. 5th, For some festive fun and some great jokes is there any chance for re-skins for ships and crew in the future? What i mean by this is for Christmas and Halloween. Christmas: All ships crew visible are made to look like snowmen. Cannonballs look like the stereotypical square presents. The ships decks are decorated with Christmas lights and trees. Halloween: All ships have their model re-skinned to look spectral in celebration of famous ghost ships during the Halloween festivities. Cannonballs look like enlarged skulls (release the prisoners!) Crewmen are re-skinned to look like skeletons/ghosts. I hope everyone likes a little of each area and idea suggested, and I hope that the moderators and developers of the game can be inspired to create more from what is found here. Keep up the great work and soon it shall rival or even stare down World of Warships.
