  1. I have no problem with people wanting to enjoy the PvE aspect of the game, Naval Action just doesn't make a very good long term PvE game in its current state and the devs would have to go into two completely separate development tracks to make it one.

It's a question of "endgame". Building up XP and buying bigger ships is great fun on a PvE server, because you have a goal and you follow it. But what happens when you can captain any ship in the game and your coffers are spilling over? What more is there to do? On a pure PvE server entertaining people beyond that point usually comes down to having some kind of deep progression, like building up through various raid sets over months, or some other activity that simply takes forever.

The PvP aspect in this game is sound, and has the potential to be very entertaining for a long time. I think most of the people who are on the PvE servers aren't necessarily opposed to PvP even, they just don't like the thought of losing ships to battles they didn't want to be in in the first place. That's something the game can remedy much more easily than trying to develop a whole second endgame scheme.

Ok you can argue about the current content but there will be more content in the future and i'm sure more variety in missions too.

But in the end it would still be the same some people enjoy only pve while others dont.

And yes there are player who are not opposed to pvp, but we still have the small or large battles.

And i think restricting the rules of engagement more and more on pvp servers would certainly make them to pve server as well

  2. Because 1. it takes work to carter to two societies independently and 2. because XP is shared and it would be idiotic to have better rewards on one server for the same activity and 3. because there is literally no reason for one server to have faster progression than the other (and as is the PvP is the slower one, with time wasted on PvP in fact)

Again with the "PvP players" versus argumentation. Seriously, CAN IT.

You forget that Gold and Ships are not shared so even when you have faster progression, and you switch onto a pvp server you would still need to work there too to gain gold and ships.

So let's pretend the progression on the pve server would be faster, would you go there rank up to just go back onto pvp and work there again to get gold and ships.

  3. I think you just spoke for other people yourself.

And please, explain how a PvE game is supposed to generate content that doesn't eventually get boring? How can a PvE game ever create a real threat that needs to be confronted without having a situation where there is a possibility that no player at all walks away the winner?

Why does there need to be a real threat. And yes i think it is possible to create that even on pve.

And with the adding of more mechanics new missions there will be more content.

And for the most part what i see is that pvp players are the one who are against all of this while it wouldn't have a big affect on them.

I mean why do you care about the pve server if you dont play on it.

  4. What about players who play on both PvE and PvP servers ?

What about players who want to switch from one to another without losing XP ?

What about players on the PvP server who play PvE ?

    1. Thats why they should completly seperated

    2. you can play on everyserver without losing xp because the xp is binded to your steam account.

    3. people who play on the pvp server wont do only pve so the main source of their xp will be still pvp

  5. Well like the title says i want to suggest higher xp rewards on the pve server. (NO higher xp for the pvp servers)

So why do i suggest this well let's do some math:

I have 121 hours of playtime (only on pve)

And i am Rank 5 (plunderer)

While of course i didn't do mission running the entire time let's late take away some hours and make it a nice 100hours of mission running.

So in these 100 hours i made it to plunderer that means 9500xp

Of course there is now a little bonus to the xp of the mission reward.

For the next rank (Raider) you need 10,000xp (one would think now it would take another 100hours but thats of course is not the case)

    So far so good.

So let's take a look at the mission. Let's assume you are a solo player. That means you will have difficulties doing plunderer missions so the best option is to go with marauder missions.

An average marauder mission gives around 250xp and takes arround 30minutes.

So lets do some math we need 10,000xp and get 250xp per mission we need 30minutes for:

so 10,000xp divided by 250 means you need to do 40missions to get the xp that are needed for the rank up, so lets take the time in

we now multiply 40 by 30 and get 1200 minutes that means it takes arround 20hours of mission running to make that 1 rank.

well lets look at the other ranks and assume it takes arround 25% more time to make it

    Rank 7 takes 25hours

    Rank 8 31hours

    Rank 9 39hours

    Rank 10 48hours

And now take everything together you need arround 243hours of running missions, that of course is only a time based on assumptions and the real time would be even higher because  with higher ranks and higher missions the difficulty increases and it will take longer. Lets say you need 250 hours of mission running even that does not count in travel time that would add more to it.

If we compare that to other mmo's like WoW it takes arround 5 times longer to reach the max lvl.

So what do i want to say with all this, well simply people who play only on the pve server are kind of screwed. pvp gets massives buffs and bonuses on xp, so should pve gets buffed but with the addition only on the pve server.

  6. While i like the intention behind your idea i think there could be a different way to do that.

Maybe add clan missions that you can only do as a clan.

It should be similar to a raid in other mmo's, harder than normal mission but more rewarding and to dont forget the pvp aspect you could make it so that other clans of other nations could join in and attack.

  7. First of a thanks to the Developer for doing a great job with this game.

Now to the topic why do i suggest seperating the servers, well because of balancing.

There is no way that both servers can be balanced at the same time and make everyone happy.

I mean we see it all the time, missions get buffed and pvp player complain, pvp gets buffed pve complains.

Seperating these servers will make it easier because on the pve server the only pvp element are battles under mission tab.

And in fact on the pve server missions need to be buffed because thats the main way to rank up. We dont gain anything that pvp gives so much xp.

And on a sidenote i like it how they all talk like noooo man gold is nothing worth now and everything will inflate, well guys wait untill the real endgame starts where we want the best upgrades and ships it can easily go into millions for 1 ship with upgrades.
