  1. Fair enough, but - for sake of argument - one could reply: "Who cares!"

     

    With the way that gold & resource production currently function, owning lots of ports just doesn't matter that much. I don't mean that as a criticism - the economic situation is very work-in-progress - but since EA we've seen a number of factions get reduced to a handful or even a single port and it just doesn't matter.

     

    Which makes the whole "gotta level up so I can sail a 1st/3rd rate in a PB" thing kind of silly. Especially in the current case, where these grinders are going to have to do a ton more grinding to get back to where they were.

     

    Sad that so few people spend their time in Naval Action actually PVPing, as opposed to "getting ready for PVP."

     

     

    This is always the case for PVP games that have power creeps connected to grinding, its also one of the things that keeps PVP centered MMORPGs niche market.

     

    I think back to darkfall, that game was such a wonder to play when Darkfall 1 first released and the server was rather close to each other in terms of leveling + skill. Said game had tons of skills, no skill cap so what happened?

     

    People power leveled, got OP, rekted everything, which made all the other PVPers go into PVE grind mode. The grind was so long for new players coming in that they refused to stay after they have been ganked and looted by OP older players that have nothing better to do then camp noob spawns since no one is PVP'ing other then the elite few who power leveled.

     

    Its a vicous cycle.. hardcore players grind hard, troll the casuals, make the casuals quit, try to hold on with low pop numbers, then quit themselves and complain about pop numbers blaming the devs for something they created.

  2. I really don't know how they are going to fix port battles. If you remove the ablity for players to sail their own ship in a port battle, and they get a pre-determined ship, that would basically make having a 1st rate rather useless, as what are you going to use it for?

     

    The BR thing can be probmatic as well useless you can figure out a way to calculate it before a battle. It would be totally stupid for a fleet to arrive at a port and all can't get in because they couldnt calculate numbers propertly.

     

    I personally think they just need to teir more ports, such as swallow, deep, regional caps, ect, and only allow 1st and 2nds into certain port battles. There should be a tier for mid level ships because the gap from Cerb to 1st rate is strong...

     

    Why not have it like this

     

    Swallows - cutter to Merc

    Deep - Cerb to Trin

    Regionals - Connie and above

    • What does USA clan recruitment topic has to do with a pirate clan?
    • SS name is not allowed and your clan must rename itself to something more appropriate - SOS for example or anything else
    • We are getting reports on racist ranting and messages - warn your members that if this continues the whole clan will get banned from chat just because you have such nice and cosy and clever umbrella name making things much easier for us

    Basically it all came to a point with the number of reports on your organization that anything you do will get your organization and your clan member accounts in trouble

    Best (dominant) strategy would be to just stay silent and ignore provocations 

     

     

    This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard from an admin on any game. First off the reason people are reporting the name and clan is because they are losing in game and that is the only way they can fight back. 2nd, the clan has always been stars and stripes which the abbreviation is SS. SS was an American clan which went pirate, thus its clear as daylight that SS is anything but Nazi related. its patriot if anything and US related.. It has nothing to do with anything Nazi and just because something is similar doesn't make it so. You are punishing a clan by forcing a name change based on others perceptions, what next, do you want to make a safe place for players to go where they can run to hide fro mirco-aggressions?  Its  clear that it has nothing to do with anything Nazi. I wish i could get a refund from both of my accounts, because at this point I'd cash out if i was able to get my 80 dollars back from both accounts because I distain Political correctness. And now you tell us to be silent and take others abuse, ignoring provocations, that is rather fascist if you ask me.  

  4. How about no, certainly not until they fix faction imbalance to keep the zerg nations from camping a small nations 1 and only port. You may not see how awful this is for the game because you likely play on a zerg faction, but if you ever played a faction like Spain on PVP2 where you had more ships camping Havana then you had total spainish players in all, you would know how suck this idea is.

  5. I'm about ready to be done with this game because the dev team is willing to ruin the game to force a stupid grind on people.

     

    NEWSFLASH, no one wants to do your stupid grind, its awful, everyone hates it, and it drives people out of the game.

     

    You can't find time to fix nation imbalance that drove PVP2 off a cliff, but you can somehow find time to remove reinforcements that leaves new players in a bad position just so you can put a stop to people who attempt to power level the grind.

     

    You really want to force people to invest their lives into grinding don't you?

     

     

     

    You know what is awful about your grind, the fact that I have to spend countless hours going wasted watching a ship travel from point A to B, a useless time sink, just to have a time sink.

     

    The reinforcement thing made the game fun, made me want to log in because it provided a solid way to level up that was fun, its now, now the game is boring as dog poop again,,,,, good job.

  6. This has been bothering me for a while but something has to be done. Under the current system players can't make mastercraft upgrades until level 40. You can't make exceptional upgrades until level 50. This presents a huge problem for crafting because you are often rewarded with mastercraft + exceptional upgrades from port battles.

     

    This kills crafting as why would anyone want to waste hours + notes on items they can simply get by taking part in port raids. This of course makes zerg nations even stronger as they have far more port battles and such access to far greater odds of getting better upgrades.

     

    I suggestion lowering the crafting levels needed to make top teir upgrades. This would allow crafters who wanted to specialize in crafting upgrades a chance at doing what they wanted to do. Port raids prolly shouldnt drop mastercraft or exceptional parts either.
