Well, you would have a 4th rate to fight the PB but you would be forced to have a 5th in case of a raid when you also need a 6th if there is a shallow. Just too much ;-)

Too many types of ships to keep ready in order to be able to defend then.

Maybe it was a mistake to set the middle PB for 4th instead of 5th, with more variety of ships, but I am more in favor of BR caps so that bringing a lower tier ship doesn't count the same and you have a little more flexibility.

It requires organisation but with current system you can have randoms with wrong ship too so organisation ois required in both cases.

Tened en cuenta que los Británicos suponen una parte importante de los jugadores del PVP1 y es lógico que el resto nos unamos contra ellos para evitar que 1 a 1 nos hagan lo mismo que nos están haciendo a nosotros. Recordad, nuestros aliados son los Franceses y los Suecos, son los únicos fiables y bien intencionados. Si los Holandeses deciden unirse también tenemos buen concepto de ellos por las batallas pasadas aunque todavía no está claro si se decantan por confiar en los Británicos o reberlarse contra ellos.

During those two weeks of non-aggression treaties, the French Council (CSNF) has been re-considering its diplomatic stances.

 

The CSNF had perceived Britain's attitude towards our common allies RAE as not as conciliatory as it could have been. Once its council was formed, Britain didn't manage to reach a compromise with Spain. The CSNF thinks Britain has been gourmand, where it could have been gourmet.

 

After France announced its neutral stance towards Britain last week, France declares war to Britain !

It's funny how even when winning you are so desperate to keep up the lies about being the victims of an agression.

I believe this game is intended to be driven by players. The thing is players can decide to not cooperate with your ideas as pointed out by the fact that it was expected that a proportional number of players would join each faction based on their initial conditions. The game needs to be able to protect itself from player choices that can, potentially, ruin it.

 

I think the devs had mentioned putting hard caps in the number of players per faction but I think it should be avoided if possible (¿as a contingency measure? maybe); instead it should be enforced via a more elaborated (and less volatile) economy.

You can set modifiers per faction so that even if a faction manages to expand fast their economy doesn't instantly jumps up on pair but instead it's shared among a larger area so the production on all your ports suffers a little as some of your manpower moves to the new city.

 

Also port conquest mechanic is way too fast as it is limitted only by gold. I am sure something can be implemented in the lines of a blockade/supply mechanic to make a port conquerable in the first place. That could also scale with extension/economy so that overextension makes a faction more vulnerable. And the ports near your capital can be too well supported to be conquerable.

Pues que se retiren de Cuba, claro. Si es que el tratado no tiene más contenido que ese, no se porqué no se han retirado ya o para qué cojones capturaron los puertos de Cuba en primer lugar.

 

Siendo sincero tengo que decir que dado que no jugamos a las horas a las que tienen sus puertos me parece una chorrada pedir que no se capturen sus puertos para retirarse de Cuba.

This is not just for you buddy, if this is the way the Spanish/RAE do diplomacy in general, why in this world would we even bother attempting to communicate to you as the biggest clan in the Dutch nation? The way you conduct yourself here, is the way you conduct yourself to everybody on the server. And i must say, from what i have seen, the Spanish attitude and general conduct has been utterly poor in this thread.

Un par de cosas. Nadie que lea este post puede saber en qué marco se mueve dicho tratado ni quién solicita su ayuda luego no sé que utilidad puede tener aparte de ser una declaración de intenciones que contrasta frontalmente con todos los actos previos.

Ignoring the fact that there is no peace mechanic in the game at the moment and that any native port of Spain can be taken by a few guys without clan when nobody is around; it is impossible to "sign" peace with Cuban ports in US hands and set to unreachable timers. The players in the Spain faction know pretty well that US is going to take over all the map at will without retaliation so game over on that part of the game.

I am pretty sure the Real Armada Española won't give up but this situation is not for everybody.

I was there on the deffending side and it was a big battle indeed. It was great to battle for a port against the US for once instead of it happening over night.

Sadly there is not a single player in the faction any where near crewing a 3rd rate despite playing many many hours, let's not talk about 4 in the same battle.

I think there could be some interesting battles in the future between our factions if we keep enough ports near La Habana to retain some player base in the server.
