  1. It is slightly more "interesting" than that so the devs have a keen eye for it and KNOW the difference.

I did have more than a few combats that ended in a retreat from both sides after hard combat and they would never be considered like "farming".

Yes but what you mentioned is perfectly normal and allowed, the farming exploit refers more to people of the same faction or realm as well, point is that it should be reported if it is seen.

  2. Really?  How many French clans have switched servers that you know of?  Yes, not every battle has been won by the French, but one or two or three or four battles don't determine the entire war.  Lose some, win some.  The point is the fight itself, not in who wins or who loses.  Britain, or should I say key clans within Britain, have run away from the fight all together.  Retreating from a battle and folding under the pressure, are two completely different things.

Sir, I hate to say it, but you can't accurately know why people or clans have done what they have or why they may have moved, could be boredom, could be looking for more fights, don't act like you know everything and make ridiculous statements, you know what they say about assumptions.

  3. If the shoe fits.

When did Britain ever put up a long, brave fight? As France I know of 3 good times you had a chance:

Once in the southeast, holding ports when the Pirates came down. Britain folded.

Once in the east, attacking Aves once the Pirates had gotten established. Britain folded.

Once in the upper Antilles, doing....whatever the heck you were doing with the Danes and then fighting the French. Britain folded.

Not saying you, personally, are a coward. I don't actually know who you are. Maybe you were bravely fighting the U.S. every day for all I know. But I have never personally seen Britain as a team stand and fight a good, long fight. What are your valiant, long term wars and why didn't they work out?

haha there was like 2 small clans around for your examples, not the nation.

  4. I hear where you're coming from Slamz, and I don't want to move unless I really have to as Lord Howe mentioned, but a server with 3 to 4 times the amount of people, there will be more to do, more trade, more large scale battles. I've played on pvp 1 before coming to pvp 2, heck I didn't even want to leave pvp1 but I made the choice to go where my group wanted to go. Hopefully whatever decision is made will make any transition smooth.

  5. Any mergers should be part of a reset.

Any reset should be part of a new, big feature -- perhaps land in battles will be cause for a reset, which sounds like it may be coming soon.

But any reset + new features may bring a lot of people back to try it and you'll have login queues if there's only 1 server.

I wouldn't mind a little queue if I knew the server was packed and had a lot more to offer and more people to fight.

  6. lots of intresting statments in this thread hahaha.

    1. i can only plan these operations around the enemys defense times. so if you dont like my tactics of hitting you when you set your port timers i realy cant help you.

    2. i am unaware of any ports being hit outside the 2hr window they have to be hit. i feel you are confuseing these events with us continueing our Op into the zone after the port window by captureing the last 3 ports that had no windows at all. so no exploits were used on my watch. we have noted that there may be a option to do this but it was seen as a exploit and has been outlawed in the french nation to prevent slander of us using exploits as you have thus attempted.

    3. 12 pirates went French from OMG. no nother pirate clans came over. 2 pirate clans went brit and 1 went Dutch unsure where the rest went.

    4. where have we gained players from??? acutaly we are been getting them from all over as more and more players on the server become to like the apeal of playing a underdog who has spirt and unity.  we also have a vigerus recruitment/Propagana merchine that helps us gain some players. we also just recently had some sweeds move across as they felt working with us to kick out the brit threat would be easyer then fighting as 2 seprate forces. it pains me that they had to do this due to the lack of a proper allance system that would allow us to enter port battles together but them are the brakes.

    5. Blitz Vs Zerg VS tactics...

a blitz as has been said has larger higher level forces move forward at fast speed taking ports at unparreled speed (not what we did)

a zerg is a Massive force able to fill 4-5 port battles at once and overwelm a enemy (yet again not what we did)

Tactics is where you use the limited resources you have to best advantage... (this is what we did)  the first Night of operation Snaper i beleive we had a total of 28 players (not all there at once) so we split into 2 fleets to try and cap multipal ports at once. this is risky as if the brits came in with any ships at any one of those port battles the result would be any ones guess. but you have to work with the tools you have. as it was we almost only got 2 ports the first night. it was lucky that the brits and danes took down our main battle fleet and our 2nd fleet was able to protect the flag carrier long enought for the plant... alot of good ships died getting that flag into place... the 2nd flag was sent in a fleet of 2 ships with little hope it would get throught the dane picket... it was pure luck they got thru and we were able to finish our port battle and reach the port battle in time to get in and finish off that last port.

funny thing is that the 2nd night of operation snaper we had way less players on and were still able to pull it off.

    6. i cant always promise that i will do tactics that you or my fellow frenchmen will like but i can say if you put ur port timers on your prime time you will have every chance to defend them but i will still work to make sure the chances of our victory are high.

    7. if you think france is just omg you will continue to underestermate us.. me thats fine i will continue to make you pay for your follys.

    8. why the Brits think they were helping the danes and sweeds what the french have done HAS HELPED THEM.... so i feel if you look at the 2 solutions side by side the French Solution is better on all counts. the danes and sweeds have a area to work in unfretted by outside infulances and have some friendly French open world PVP ontop.

all in all i feel the french have done more to sustain this games growth then any other nation. we avoid attacking smaller nations then us unless in self defense and we are willing to fight both the major zergs in US and Britian.

I'm not sure you understand #5.  We the Brits were accused of Zerging (Fredrikstad, one PB), not the French, and your own people used the term Blitzing for your nations actions this previous weekend (Multiple PB's), we never accused anything.  I do agree though that it is a war game, and in war you do what is necessary to provide the best possible outcome for your side.

  7. Fletch,

Sorry you see it that way.  I suggest you look at it from the perspective of the French, who had been reduced to holding Fort Royal, and a single shallow water port less than a month ago.  The reversal of fortune is something to take pride in.  Anyhow, I do sincerely hope you find some enjoyment in this game, otherwise.  You're not, on the whole, a bad dude.  At any rate, to answer your question as simply as I can: Zerging, as we are defining it, versus Rushing- Zerging is bringing in the horde. Rushing is speed attacks.  Therein lies the difference.  That said: the initial complaints about zerging were that we'd noticed a significant increase in forces coming from the British side.  Considering that on a good day, it was difficult for us to fill a port battle, that is the perception we received.  I can see, in reverse, how that looks on your end.  I'll note that I was gone this weekend due to military obligations, so I have no idea what precisely transpired, but I know our guys moved to cap as many ports as quickly as possible to move forward with our strategic plan.  Such is what we do.

Anyway, cheers.  See ya 'round and we'll trade cannonfire again, I'm sure.

Thanks, you seem like an alright dude yourself. Let's break this down a little bit, I think you guys misunderstand the terms you are using.  Zerging actually refers to using a massive amount of low level units to overpower an enemy, think StarCraft, I'm sure some of you have played it.  Blitzing, while also fast, usually includes greater firepower, but I digress, because what has happened is already in the past.  You cant logically look at this thread and the start of it as something that's not going to piss people off.  It's pretty much trash talk without directing really at first, it really just shows what kind of person he is.  Also, we're Zerging because you guys can't get the numbers, but when we can't get the numbers, I'm pretty sure we don't b**** and moan about numbers, it's a war game, it's not always going to be even.  I enjoy this game, but already know of people who have left, partially because of lack of content, but also because they are sick of hearing all the trash "the French" talk, and I put that in quotes so everyone knows I'm referring to someone elses view.  This thread is not good for the game, should be locked and set to drift.

  8. This thread is a joke, comical at best.  If you reread the first post and don't come away thinking that the post wouldn't cause people to gripe or cause hate just like previous threads, you need to go back to grade school.  The whole post is childish.  WIS does not come on here and boast about port battle victories, let alone undefended victories.  Can someone explain the difference between zerging and blitzing, pretty sure they both imply fast rushing as Google never lies, so trying to call something a different name with the same meaning, well that's just stupid.  You all keep talking about caring about the game and the population, yet you continue to open more threads of useless crap that become a breeding ground for name calling and unneeded accusations, which eventually leads to an appendage measuring contest.

  9. Yeah, that's the big question in my mind: who's the superpower? Or are Britain and the U.S. evenly matched? I feel like they haven't really been putting much into their war so it's hard to tell. We might literally just have to march though Hispaniola (north path towards pirates and U.S. or south path towards the heart of British territory?) and punch faces until someone starts punching back.

And that's assuming the Brits don't simply counter-attack us soon. Does anyone care about Puerto Rico? I don't know.

I am, actually, slightly sad that the British group WIS was not able to see their dream become a reality. They want to roleplay as the West India Squadron operating out of particular historical British ports in the Antilles. Unfortunately for them, they are not numerous enough or high level enough (or consistently online enough) to defend their ports from a blitz, so their plan can't work. There is no way for a small group, however motivated they may be, to hold a port. Port battle mechanics really favor the big blitz and therefore the big on-site defense, and playing games with port battle timers only works for so long.

Might have been interesting, really, to have a dedicated Brit group holding a port in our backline but we aren't going to play the game with one hand tied behind our back purely to make it seem more sporting. I do hope port battle mechanics can change for the better though, and soon. "Dedication" should count for something; not just the blitz.

Spent most of the last 2 days moving my crap around because the situation is actually TOO fluid.

Set up a base in Plymouth, sent captured 3rd rates there, all ready for a big war, blamo, Brits get surprised, can't defend the port and that's over.

Move all that crap to Viequez. New front! Big new war! Pushed the Brits back over the weekend cause they set all their timers to 12-14 and nobody was on to stop us.

So now I'm moving again to La Mona. Spent more time moving stuff than playing the game because the map is moving too fast.

    But, whaddya gonna do.

My tentative plan this week is to alternate grinding out some XP and to harass [REDACTED] shipping around [REDACTED].

    But, we'll see.

We didn't plan for what to do after Puerto Rico because we thought it would take longer.

So we were zerging, but it's okay for you to blitz? Very confusing.

  10. The Dane has set himself to the British beat and stamps to his master's heel.  In a British war to the knife against the Swede, what recourse is to be had but to harry the attack dog as we do the holder of the leash?  The British "Gentleman" once again fails to demonstrate his understanding of the simplest of facts- France fights with her allies.  The British "gentleman", when he and his have attempted to foist unfavorable terms upon our Nordic brethren and have been thoroughly rebuffed and rebuked sets course upon a smear campaign against the French.  The British "Gentleman" who cannot through feat of arms enforce his will, attempts through yellow press to tarnish the good name of all Frenchmen.

Perhaps instead of clever poems, sir, you should inform the populace of the "offer" you put to our allies, the Swedes?

    Aren't you guys Pirates?
