The window was set for 00-02 according to the in game clock. The flag was not actually purchased until around 0250 according to the in game clock
According to my UTC clock converter on my phone it was 1:50 when the flag was purchased.

I love how every time the stories get told:
- The number of Pirates that re-rolled French grows larger.
- The amount the bounty on Slamz' head ultimately got to gets bigger
- The amount Slamz supposedly paid to get OMG to re-roll gets bigger

If my memory serves me correctly the french helped in the coalition against the pirates and after the aves stuff some of the pirates went French and then suddenly the french had a new goal and that was the same as the pirates, whether or not it was only 12 OMG members, those 12 did a lot for France and France is now where it is at because of OMG.
France is where it is now because a nation came together as one voice. OMG PURGE and LMN created that voice.

The participation of the other clans was mainly so that we could obtain somewhat of a peace agreement in the area (at least re. Ports), hence the port swap where the Swedes gave us St.John in exchange for one of the ones held by Brits.
We wanted to get the fun, small scale fights going in the area again... and having a port away from all the other action, while also working with our RP objective (St Johns did belong to his majesty you know), seemed a good way to do it. The Swedes in particular have always given us good fights, as they were relatively low population and we are a small group.
I'm sure we will be back... some day

WIS would have loved to oblige you with fun PvP in the area, but unfortunately you decided to wait until 12:55am to attack a port that you knew was held by a group that has never had more than 12 players on-line. (a full 55 minutes after the game was telling us the port timer was closed, so we left to do other things... not your fault, presumably another display 'bug' in the game).
We still managed to get our 7 ships that were online into battle against your 10,000 BR French fleet, and even engaged you at the very first tower.
We thought you wanted PvP, and were surprised to find you still going for the speed cap of the towers.
We were sure we had read you all posting about wanting to fight, and that winning using the BR ratio was wrong?
We can only surmise that you were uncertain of your chances against WIS, since you only had 5:1 odds in your favor... we know you Frenchies are a skittish lot
Seriously though...
Unless something changes I suspect good fights will be harder and harder to come by as time goes on.
Many people have already grown tired of the lack of game content and left, and the game isn't helped by the constant trash talking both in-game and in the forums.
This community has been showing the immaturity of many of its so-called adult players really badly over the last couple of weeks, and thats not a good way to retain a player base.
There are too many other games out there that people can play and have fun, without listening to a constant spew of hate-filled garbage.
Lets hope the community cleans up its act, and the devs get some more meaningful content out really soon, before we lose too many to make this game fun.
We want an age-of-sail game to succeed... i hope we can at least agree on that
Pretty sure that even after the battle ended the British we're the first to leave the battle while our victory after being firebomb attempted 3 times stayed in the fight until the last man nearly sunk and you all fled.

I used to sink Surprises, Bell Poules, Frigates, etc in my Basic Cutter. Those fights lasted most of the time the full 1hr 30 min battle timer. Often, It would span over 2 battles. I had one guy go the full timer and escape just to be caught again at open sea and sunk 50mins into the 2nd battle. I've nearly came close to soloing a connie in my pickle before the battle timer ended who tagged me. I don't see this as griefing even if he tagged you to keep you in combat. I've tackled boats before with the sole purpose of keeping them in combat for the entire 1 hr 30mins to prevent them from aiding in other battles.

They do bring up very good points. The game design for pirate is flawed and I do not believe green on green should even be considered for cases like this. You join a clan to fight as a clan and play as a clan and the game prevents pirates from doing that. No punishment should ever be given to a player for defending a clan member. Otherwise, what is the reason for having clan. Fixing pirate on pirate should be a top priority it ruins the game for pirate clans.

This is where you're wrong. It's flat out in the rules that this type of action is not allowed.
Buying a second account and put a different nation character on it is not "clever" or "use of game mechanics"
That is why I still think these two accounts should be banned permanently. They're completely illegitimate from the very start. Logging into the British character in itself was already outside the rules.
Sorry, but buying a flag from the nation a character is on and not using it isn't an exploit. It's something everyone can do. A very dick move but it's not an exploit. The word gets tossed around like candy people don't even understand what it means anymore.
What would be an exploit is if he someone found a way to bypass the game mechanics and purchase the flag for free. Deleting ones character and switching nations is something we all can do freely.
What this is defined as is more of a "Dick Move" Category. I don't find the offense to warrant a ban nor do I think it warrants punishment. If anything a dev "Open Response" on what is acceptable behavior on the subject as well as an issued warning.
Also multiple accounts isn't against the rules either. I've seen dev response on the matter elsewhere but I'm not digging through threads for you, you can do that on your own.

It's an exploit and he must not use it. Further he has to report it and not abuse it. If there something like this in the game mechanics which allows someone to troll a whole nation which is a serious exploit and he doesn't report it and abuses it he needs to get banned. He agreed not to do it the moment he payed for this game. He agreed to report it the moment he payed for this game. Simple as that. I don't know why people are still need to talk about it not to punish those players too hard. They are grown up and know what is right and what is not right. They knew it wasn't right so there we go. Banhammer. End of story. No other player will try to be a dick like those players again and we can play like normal gamers again and not like jerks.
You sir, have apparently never worked a day in a legal field. Right or wrong, It was a mechanic that is questionable I agree. However, it's not an exploit nor is it against the rules for a player to buy a flag on a nation he has a character on. (Even if he doesn't use it) At most it's a dick move and needs to be addressed. That my good friend is a fact.
That's like saying a Nation cannot buy 2 flags at once to confuse the enemy faction to choose which port they're actually going to hit. While yes, it's a completely different tactic than the one we have here but it still means 1 of those capture windows are used up for the day.

It's a bug and it's exploitable and easy to reproduce I'll be doing a write up / video probably for Admin later on to explain. Bug can potentially crash players in battle during pvp and could potentially leave ships extremely vulnerable.

HeyHey owner bought the flag and deleted the player.
We believe this is a community issue. Please propose the punishment for the players/steam accounts involved.
Extra points for clan leaders/national leaders proposals.

In theory, He didn't do anything wrong other than being a troll.
There are a few ways we can go about this.
1. If the account is a purchased account rather than a "Family Share" (Pre patch) then as a paid player he has a right to do this no matter how dick of a move it is until you as the developer come out and say actions like this are not tolerable.
1b. If the account is Family Share then technically it's an illegal character that should not have been in game which warrants punishment. (find the main)
Considering this is an action that requires Gold a complete and warranted action would be to fine him.
Now likely, if he's smart he would trade all his gold/assets away after seeing your punishment thread. (you may be able to track it) Your best action would be to fine him negative currency that he would have to farm back in game so if he has 0 gold he logs in and sees - negative 300,000 or what ever the flags cost was. That way if he traded it away it will just deduct it when he trades it back. Or, just contact him and tell him this is whats going to happen etc.
2. Since there are no disclosed rules for this game on topics like this there really isn't much you can honestly do to him other than options above without creating a fire. Yeah, it happened and yeah, people are mad but it's in the game and it happened. You as developers allowed it to via mechanics and this is an Early Access game and I'm sure issues like this will not be the last of it. We have wipes ahead and ultimately this really wont have an effect on the game after that point.
However, you will need to come out and speak out on this that intentionally trolling a nation by buying a flag in their faction to prevent them from attacking ports is an abuse of in game mechanics and those who violate this condition will be punished.
You're going to need some type of Terms of Service via login like most MMOS which no1 reads but it allows you to go back and justify punishment when violations are clear and any time there is change to the TOS it re-prompts for users to read.
IMO no punishment just warning.

Since patch this keeps happening to me nearly every battle.
battle ends and I'm unable to leave battle then in about 30-45 seconds later I get a message that pops up (Battle Over Connection Lost) Upon re-entry into the game I'm awarded with often no exp and cash. Once I got rewarded 18000 gold and 200 exp for a large 3rd rate fleet which doesn't even come close to what I should have made in the fight or similar battles with the same fleet size.
So, pretty much unplayable atm.

I've no opinion on the particular port, but blindsiding players like that is screwed up, either save map changes that affect player access to a port for map reset or give an access grace period. Also put that sort of info in patch preview, not buried in a random topic outside the announcements forum.
Yeah, people needed a warning for this. I agree. But in future updates with these kind of changes... It really should be reserved for Map Resets.

In my honest opinon CDR being Free made more sense to me. if theres a problem with the Plymouth and CDR free ports being to close it makes more sense to make Plymouth neutral. CDR being neutral is a huge advantage for the french nation and this is coming from a frenchie.

It was a long overdue change that was planned long ago.
But perhaps it could be changed back UNTIL the port map reset.
Keep in mind that a lot of players requested it to be changed to neutral as that area had enough free towns.
I'd highly recommend in future updates you don't do shit like that again except on map resets. Or you'll end up pissing a lot of people off. Map changes should only be made on Map resets.
