I just started playing again two days ago. I have not leveled up and was sailing in my basic cutter. I was attacked by ten enemy players. I was able to run away for over two minutes and not be hit but the game never let me escape from the battle. I ran so far I got out of the battle circle and after another five minutes I sunk and was able to respawn. Why was I not able to escape the battle within the circle? And I thought as a new player I could not be “yanked” at such a low level.

Must be a very evil person,  lets rally 8 nations vs pirates, this is the solution!,   When brits reduced spain to 1 port, and owned half map, i not see any thread be open about that.

 

The only thing pirates have more then others, is  some organized clans. So is not the game, is the players that make the difference.   Usa got destroyd by 1 clan not the "pirates"    is all a question of organization, wise choices, and determination. 

 

Instead blame the devs and the game, ppl should start organize their nations and clans , maybe play eve online for a bit you will learn a lot of skill to bring back in na

here is what i think of this proposal

Your idea does not describe the ? part

all ports have different harbors. where, how victory conditions,

who places markers, how this is all interconnected on servers, ai coding, routes.

the idea is only great when a. its sounds awesome b. can be implemented (the @?@ part is clear and can be done) 

 

 

simple solutions solving 80% problems are better than unfinished awesome things

your proposal is the car without wheels - impossible to implement 

we are making a 1 or 2 with a smiley face

 

thus

to make frigates viable = make some battles frigate only - simple, works, creates no confusion, gives options. 

 

also remember the general perspective guys

• 800 users participated in port battles last month
• 20000 users logged in and played

 

at the moment port battles are mostly clans and this will help the non clan players join in and its a great idea. lets get everyone involved

Most old flicks are public domain already in most internet platforms. IIRC Youtube even has a specific channel for that.

this is not true at all and they are not public domain...The first writer/director or who ever had the copyright has it for the first 50 years..or until death then it reverts to the family and then can be extended. Very few films are in the public domain. and most are from failure to renew the copyrights..

• We said captains should reposition their ships because lineships will only be accepted in port battles for regional capitals. There is no reason to hold your lineship fleet in cities that have no RC around them. Thats just a friendly warning to make your life easier.
• We also said that nations will lose ports because mechanics are new. Not because ports change or something.

very interesting and will be interesting to see how a really strategic war will be played out. Say hostilities break out between the US and Spain. Say the US want to destroy the coal production out and blockade the spanish from this resource.so it stifles the ship building .can this still be achieved? 7 days seems like it cant or if the war is over the port reverts back to the original nation? Am i mis understanding this?

Captains, at the moment it is lesser of two evils, but it might be solved somehow at the later stages. At least you can take actions accordingly (you see the enemy) like form up a group etc.
