Can someone explain to me how these mechanics work? To my understanding it simply means that no one can join a battle after the initial tag that would imbalance the BR by a factor of more than 1.5x.
And yet, a few minutes ago I was tagged by a belle poule in my surprise, and after the battle started (30 seconds in), a frigate joined the belle's side. If my understanding of the mechanics applied, this should have been impossible, because:
Surprise - 140 BR
Belle Poule - 180 BR
Frigate - 170 BR
140 BR x 1.5 = 210
180+170=350
350>210 Therefore the frigate should be incapable of reinforcing the belle.
But he was capable of reinforcing the belle. Why?

I had a fir Trincomalee crafted for me by my friendly arch nemesis. He offered to do this when i told him the one I capped off of him sank. It turned out with gold build strength, gold speed, and 3-5 upgrade slots, pretty much perfect.
I threw purple copper plating, green mag access and a blue opt. rudder onto her and named her "Viking", because she was fast, brutal, merciless, and raided the British.
Her first dura was lost to an internet disconnect mid-escape. Her second dura was lost valiantly in a small battle fighting both a belle poule and another trincomalee to the death. Her 3rd dura was lost in a duel with Puchu that I damn near won until I made the mistake of sailing into the wind and allowing him to board me. She now belongs to my good friend and serves him well in her retirement days.

Understandable, but why would I have cut my connection if I knew about the timer?? To do so would be to simply guarantee my demise. As it was, this was an issue totally out of my control, and thus I find it unfair to myself as a player to suffer arbitrary consequences for doing nothing.

I was sailing in enemy waters in my Trincomalee when my internet connection dropped, I'm not sure why it happened. I rebooted my router but that still didn't fix the problem. After a while it comes back online and I find that my ship which stays in game for 10 minutes after a connection is lost has been attacked and sunk by someone during the time my internet was down. Obviously this was something totally out of my control, and I find it very unfair to myself, but I understand why the 10 minute timer is there: to dissuade combat logging. I would like to request a roll back to regain my lost durability on my Trinc. My character name is Loquacious Larry

So recently (the past week or so) client crashes have become more and more frequent, but the crashes I am experiencing aren't just crashes to desktop, they crash my entire OS, and I am forced to reboot my computer. They seem to occur most frequently on the open world, but have also occurred in battle. The game drops to 0 FPS and my monitor turns off. I will still hear sound for a while, and then the sound freezes, looping continuously.

Positional reinforcements and ROE

I agree to return the 1.5x br rule until such time as positional reinforcements are removed. Surrounding a ship that is faster on the OW is absurd and unimmersive.
