    Greetings all,

The new major update v1.3 is under development and its first version will soon become available for beta testing. We will provide a bit later what it will include but first, you can take a look at the new hulls that will be possible to make in the game, using as base the historical models of New York Class Battleship (detailed variants of USS Texas 1914-1946) and Atlanta-class cruiser.

Please find the images in our official blog:

    Any earlier hulls?

I've seen quite a few people ask for aircraft carriers and/or moving campaign end/start date past 1940's but adding planes would be far more complicated to implement and I'm not sure how they could even work in this game. Having the campaign start at 1880 wouldn't require a massive change to game mechanics and for a game called Dreadnoughts makes more sense. Including the 1880s would add the generation of warship development before the one labeled the pre-dreadnought era of battleships and cruisers, though I'd argue that era already started in the 80's. The 1880's had a pretty big variety of battleship design and armament layout (barbettes, protected barbette, turrets fore & aft, central in echelon turrets, and some central citadel batteries). Along with that guns being finalized from muzzle loaders to rifled breach loaders, armor went from iron with backing to specialized steel plates, and engines also had big improvements. This decade with all its various ship designs in my opinion would be a lot more interesting to bring into the game, especially since the 1880's are generally a forgotten decade when talking about warships while aircraft carriers have been done in other games. I know its very unlikely this DLC / mod will ever happen, but I definitely would prefer it to aircraft carriers and planes coming in.

I want campaign from Lissa (1860-s) to 1900-1905. And 4 turns per month.

I would say that this idea is better suited for a mod/DLC, or at least players should have an option to disable this content.

With the tech tree being gradually expanded (modern armor comes to mind for example) and some branches being already too long (20" mark 5 guns are basically unobtanium unless you focus on big guns during the entire game, and since gun barrels were added turret mechanisms seem to be overloaded as well) I wonder if the campaign should be extended to 1960 or even further.

And with that it might be time to go nuclear! Nuclear propulsion for ships and submarines (hell, maybe even auxiliary reactors for super battleships), nuclear large-caliber shells and torps  (for naval bombardment or maybe even to try and yeet an enemy battleship out of existence).

Might also include stuff like "Radiation protection" to Internal Protection tech branch, "On-board Atomic Clock" to Control Towers etc

    No.

So you wanta cut off the hand that feeds the game! Better still, break something that's not broke to improve something else? I don't think so.

While unprioritized, my advice is with large engagements use the pause button every few seconds/minutes and step through every ship maintaining helms.

a.k.a. git gud and play some ABBA.

It's not fun. I want play battles like real battles as possible, not fight against huge swarm of chaotic moved without any battleplans ships.
