I always wondered if the battletech system would work in Naval Action... like you have a BR max and you can bring a bunch of smaller ships or less bigger ships, you would have to find a good balance on your team.
Anyway, this patch sounds like a good step in the right direction.

This basicly reduces dura by one for lower tier ships.
Don't know if I really like the idea of boarding becoming more important. With the currant mechanic boarding ships are one of the main annoyances in the game. if it is boarding the last surviving stragglers in a battle in fine with it. Me personally: I don't enjoy the gameplay that comes with fleets just kitted out to board other ships. Don't enjoy playing with or against them.
I just hope these mechanics won't lead to a further increase of ganking by making it a vital part of the game and "forcing" people to do it, in order to compete within the game.
Other than that: I don't really know if I am pro or con on the issue of complicating the game further. We sure need to test it.
That was my major concern over this idea as well... putting more importance on boarding, in it's current state, isn't something I would enjoy. I find the rock/paper/scissor element of boarding to be pretty weak gameplay which comes down to who has the better ability to click a button at the last second.
Other than that I like the proposed changes.

They lost 10, I'm so SORRY
We lost 3.
See what happens when fights are more equal.
Nice! Wish I could make more of these port battles... night shift is rough.

No, we do not need pvp zones. Maybe pvp free zones around capitals, but that is it.
I think this is a fair solution, new players need a semi-safe area to level up and learn the ropes. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to have low level missions (up to 2nd LT?) spawn near the capital and it be a no pvp zone.

Sorry to hear our allies suffered such a loss, cudos to both sides for a fully committed, I'm sure, well fought battle. Was this a American assault on a port battle?
The US actually won the night, we got a bunch of ports back. So, we may have lost that one battle but won the "war" for the night.

I have honestly never played a game with so much whining and QQ on top of the holier-than-thou, self righteous platitudes. This is a PVP game. And not everyone is going to always be cordial and gentlemanly. Sometimes people get salty. It's okay. We're all human. But, play the GAME instead of whining to the devs. They've got more important things to do than wipe away your tears and put the tissue under your nose. We're sailing pixelated wooden ships. It's not that serious.
The whole point of being a tester is to find grey areas and help the devs refine the game. So, maybe instead of crying for us to be banned or wiped, you should be thanking us for a better game when it goes full release. While you're at it, thank us for providing content for you as well (i.e. bringing 1st rates to fights and giving you the opportunity to try to sink them).
You'll do it someday guys. I believe in you. But at some point you actually need to spend as much time playing as you do trying to get things changed at the dev level just to suit your perceived injustices.
You must not have played many online games, lol.
TBH, after the economy change I am surprised the devs didn't do a ship and gold wipe, I for one would welcome one now that you need an economic backbone and can't just buy from NPCs.

TBH...we actually pretty much just talk about what's going on in the battle. At least most of us do. When the shit slinging starts in comms, guys are usually "battle commed" real fast. But you're right. It's not going to stop. I would just rather it was kept in the confines of the TS and battle. I don't really agree with everyone posting things up to "take shots" at each other on the forums anymore. It's getting old.
Agreed.

This would be one battle. I'd say thank you to you guys for coming out to fight, but you weren't very gracious or nice in your little chat you had going. (just watched the youtube vid) (dice...you gotta work on your aim, man :-) ) Our guys went looking for an engagement, they found one. They were appreciative of you fighting, even though they knew they would lose. You guys were a bunch of dicks during your voice comms...but that would be typical. Heard that many times over in other fights while on the same team. I point out my post above....can't we at least be civil in our battles?
Come on now, let's not pretend that any side is civil toward the enemy in their own private TS chat.

Ban the account for exploiting, make him rebuy the game again if he really wants to play, maybe he will learn his lesson.

Love the idea!

How do you think farming should be dealt with? I was thinking something like if there were no key input for a certain amount of time (say 5-10 minutes?) that no damage against you would count for the person shooting you... you would still take the damage but the person shooting you wouldn't get credit.
If I understand what the devs were saying... people would just AFK and let people (their friends) farm them... so this way it would be very boring for the farmer.

I think all your energy should be on working on your game... putting this much energy into trying to prove a review wrong isn't going to change anything. In fact the opposite happens. There is now a post on reddit with over 100 upvotes about avoiding naval action... the devs could have avoided all of this.
If your game is good the reviews as a whole will reflect that (look at how positive the reviews were a year ago). I, personally, am waiting for the game to improve before I hop back in again...
