  1. Id like an advanced fishing guide, not only where to find what but also where to sell what fish and what fish to make fishmeat out of aswell as good ships/perk setups for fishing and how to avoid getting ganked while fishing and so on =)

     

     

    edit, i made a little experience with droprate of sealed bottles.

     

    i went out from gustavia, sailed east past codrington to the border of the map. at the east map border i turned north and sailed as far north as north goes, rounded sommerset and went west following the northern border of the map until i could see the coast of america, here i turned 180 and sailed back east, rounded sommerset again and sailed south past swedish waters all the way down to saint joseph town, turned north again up and rounded codrington and vent back to gustavia.

     

    this was a fishing trip in a le gros ventre that took over 10 hours, i managed to round up over three thousand tons of fish and one sealed bottle, just one (1)

  2. alliances ingame is being abused, for example you are allied with someone and all of a sudden the alliance is gone and you get attacked by your whould be allied nation, then the next day you are in an alliance again? why not make the alliance last until one of the two parties have negative votes from the other. an example of this is i play sweden on pvp1, now when i set sail i have no idea if we are allied with dennmark or if they are enemys as it change automatically after a few days.

     

    a guy asked if the danes are our friends and one guy said, yes they are our friends, another said they are our allies, someone said they are our enemy (looking at politics) and someone said they are both allied and enemys, the guy asking where new to the game and i guess its pretty confusing for him. also some players consider them allied even after the 9 day timer has ended, some does not since gamemechanics says they are enemys. Please make the alliances permanent until one of the two puts the other on negative votes.

     

    having neutral relations whould be great aswell. means you can still pvp and attack them on the sea but not the towns or something similar maybe.

  3. The timeline prevents old legends like the sovereign to make an appearance. Guidelines are roughly 1700-1820.

    This also means older ship types like galleons and fluits are out of scope.

     

    We got the Le gross ventre, which is a dedicated merchant as well iirc.

     

     

    Don't we have the yacht as well, which is a sloop (?).

    the luxury yatch? i dont have it, it was passed out to closed alpha testers, i was invited and tested the game in closed alpha, now i bought it on steam so i didnt even get the yatch, and you cant get one as far as i know :) 

     

    anyways more 1700-1730 then, there was still galleons built around this time i think.

  4. Exactly. High ping IS unplayable unless you really just dont care if you lose every fight or cant board or just love the screen freezes and such.

    You guys who say you " play with a 400 ping all the timeñ i just wonder the validity of your statement or the manner in which you play.

    i understand you want better ping, but they have to take into consideration the rest of the players. if the bulk of the players have high ping the server population will go down, to fix this they whould have to add an australian server, problem is there is not an audience big enough to do that for economocal reasons. i understand what you ment, but they can't just move away the EU server to australia can they?

  5. as for now we have some small brigs, a sea of different frigates and some lineships. 1 pure and not rebuilt merchant ship being the indiaman. When adding more ships i think what people want is not more frigates but some diversity like galleons, barks? also there is no sloop =)

     

    also some older ships whould be most welcome like the swedish "Stora Kronan" and the english "HMS sovereign of the seas" for example. The frigates in the game all looks the same kinda, adding some older ships whould open for alot of intresting models.

    here a few suggestions to appeal to the females of the player community (yes there are some! xD)

     

    - integrate Custom-design-able (and female) captains (officers) which you can rename and actually can be seen (for example moving on the ship) while beeing on the sea.

     

    - every clan could choose one emblem or logo out of a fixed collection (which is then unable for other clans) which is but on the sails of their ships.

    you know, females where not even allowed to join the navy at the time, only females on the sea where pirates and that was very rare, if i see a pink connie ill uninstall the game pronto

  7. True, but the point is that there may be a better provider for players overall.  This may require some european players to have a slightly worse ping.  As many will attest, the game is quite playable with pings up to 230ish...  

    you know pvp1 is 90% europeans right? so we gonna put 9/10 players at 230 ping? the server whould be empty in a week. and yes, 230 ping is beyond horrible..

  8. ive been max rank for a while, and what we dont need is more gold, i have tons of 1st rates, 2nd rates, outposts, lv3 shipyard... well i have everything i could possibly wish, on top of that millions and millions of gold. and you suggest what? that we should have even more gold? no, just no.. as someone said, upkeep for the ships, the more/bigger ships you have the more money it will drain. also we need some real goldsinks that we can put our fortune into, just expanding warehouse and buying outposts is not enough

  9. TBH, currently there is no AI on the open world. It's just simple pathfinding

     

    I think that even the simplest AI would greatly enhance the liveliness of the game's world.

    And by simplest AI I mean behaviour like running away from enemy ships if they have superior force or actually attacking other ships/fleets (bots or players).

     

    Then later this can even be applied to missions where instead of sailing toward sword symbols you'd be tasked to hunt down an AI ship that, for example is itself hunting for AI traders in a certain area or to protect an AI convoy from beign attacked by AI pirates etc.

    what? like its not painful enough to get to the crossed swords, now the damn mission will run away from you?

     

    haha nah im just kiddin, i like the idea, then we whould be forced to use different ships for different missions. now its just a "go with whatever has the most guns" means you go in your santissima vs class 7 ships simply cuz its faster that way, when you can take out 3 ships with 1 broadside ;-)

     

    having some running AI making the NPC flee within the battle aswell forcing you to use a frigate or something to be able to catch up, it could be a good privateering mission.
