  1. I have requested this before, but now seems like a good time to do so. I would very much enjoy it if the ability to change the designs of turrets was added. At the moment if you build a BB for Britain in 1940 you have access to old looking 16" guns, and this makes making the Lion-class, at least visually, impossible. If you decided to make Vanguard the guns are locked in a state that is too modern. However simply changing the gun visuals would be a bad idea, since then choice would be removed (in the 16" case Nelson would be impossible). The 14" guns are also an issue, since the turrets are too wide for KGV. In my now extensive rant I must also include the 6" (British).

This is also probably an issue for other nations, but I frankly know more about The Royal Navy. My "rant" is also not intended as a complaint, I would just like to aid the development of the game, because I really enjoy playing it.

    - The different guns on diameter and length caliber will also vary according to the 3D model used for them. Guns of different nations that are large or have a shorter barrel than others of the same caliber and technology, will not be identical as now, but will have different stats accordingly.

Does that mean we can change what gun model to use?

    • New Special Gun Calibers: A new design panel will allow you to edit the diameter and length of the gun barrels which will affect the gun statistics and their actual size on the ship. So, for example, you will be able to have calibers such as 13.5 inch for your guns before you research the next bigger 14 inch caliber. The variations of designs now will become extremely enriched, as each ship will look different also on the gun scales.

I know that I have requested this before (on the discord server), but I would like to mention this again because it now relates to a new feature. Could we be able to pick the graphic for guns? At the moment if you want to design a specific ship (take Vanguard) you may have issues with the guns you would like to use due to wrong looking designs. In Vanguard's case it is a 1940s style British gun, great for modern builds, and access to it is lovely, but it would be nice to be able to have access to different gun graphics.

Other than that great job with the game, and I very much enjoy playing it.

    1. Dud torpedoes and torpedoes exploding or sinking after going beyond max range.

    2. The ability to set gun firing modes like full salvo, half salvo, one-by-one, stagger fire etc.

    3. More older unique ships from 1880-1920 (USS Texas (both), Tennessee class, HMS Neptune etc.)

    4. More port designs which scale up with the vessel in question as a visual thing.

    5. A more unique looking UI and better gun sounds, plus unique music and scores.

    6. Shells being less bright than they are and also doppler sound effects like the whistle of shells flying by or the horrible noise a shell makes when its about to land.

    7. Camos and liveries.

    8. Internal hull modules and a more extensive hull damage mechanic.

    9. Better physics and visuals.

    10. Spotting system replaced with a 5 step system that shows a ships model at five stages (very simple, simple, detailed, very detailed, identified.

    11. Crew and officers getting unique traits or bonuses in certains skills and modules depending on their personality and maybe negs to either offest those or for lore reasons.

    12. More unique modules in general and the ability to play in different areas with glaciers, maybe the odd island or too and bombardment missions where we assist troops landing or just hit land targets.

    13. Refits and museum ships.

    14. Realistic mod, removes most features that would provide a player huge advantages.

    15. Espionage and trading.

    16. AI wars and Alliances.

    17. Standard Templates for ships.

    18. More calibres, like 410's, 240's, 310's, 140's, 162's etc and also a gun length slider and maybe a turret designer.

I know all these would takes ages, but still a good amount of stuff to work on regardless.

    Cheers lads.

More gun calibres was suggested here, and I would like to second this point. It would be nice to get a British hull in the 1910s with casemates, and it would be nicer to get 15" guns earlier so I can build a QE class.

  5. I've said this before but it would be very nice to be able to download ship files easily. I know it is possible to pull ships out from one of the .json files, but it would be so much nicer to just download. Also if one is trying to organise a competition of some sorts, then all the competitors can just send in ships with no hassle, and asking where to locate the .json file.

Very good game, congratulations are in order.

Due to the nature of the limited campaign, it should not be possible to reach 1940 from 1890s with constant war. Wars should last on average not more than 10 years. You can unlock initial years when you win campaigns.
The longevity of the campaign will be balanced out accordingly as we expand the campaign map and its features.

When will we be able to start in later years? Good job BTW though.

It might have been a neglected process from our side to update the plan which we have announced here:

But if you notice what we promised and what is going to be given within the year is literally 3 core patches into one. If we had delivered Core Patch 1 in September/October it would be having unwanted bugs and you would all argue about the game's stability and quality. Instead, we decided to give a large update with Custom Battles Saves and a whole lot of new features so that you have a good working game, until we finalize the campaign with as many features as possible and without the stress of providing patch after patch to fix all the minor bugs.

The occasional toxicity, drama and aggressiveness of some forum members, including you now, is forgiven, because it is a thing nowadays to be negative publicly. There is a lot of stress and negativity spreading globally due to the pandemic and its side effects.

I suggest you and others calm down and keep your strength for any future criticism until we release the patch. Then you can review what we will give and maybe aid us with your critique to improve further.

hear hear, or as MPs say ereereerrreerrerr
