  1. I'm not focusing on bugs here except the most annoying one. You can't make peace when more then 2 nation fight each ather cause the alliance always calls the other one back in. (at least i guess whats causing this) Generally i really like where it's going with the campaign and i really am looking forward for the future. just in my oppinion it still has some major flaws but thats what a beta is for. So i wanna give a few suggestion here.

    1. Diplomacy:

Otherwise then random events we can't have much influence on it. If you have positive relationships with a nation you can even park 100 ships right infront of their ports and nothing happens. This means you have no real choice whom you fight, cause the events don't come in a way that lets you really influence whom to fight and when. There should be a way (maybe by spending navel buget) to have a turnbased influence on it. Aswell let me please decide if i wanna ally someone or not even if relations reach 100, or call them into a war.

    2. Wars:

Treat wars with different nations as different wars. currently as mentioned before if the war is between more then 2 nations peace is not possible to reach cause they get drawn back in. make a peacedeal cancel the alliance and reset the opinion to 0. Victory by unrest should be a major victory letting you make demands and not removing that nation from the map (by the way still causing you events with that non existing nation). Give us an option to demand peace with minor victory after a certain amount of time (maybe 1 or 2 years) if either fleet value/tonnage or vitory points are in favor of maybe 60% and the ai if it's in their favor as minor victory. if those conditions are in maybe 80% favor of one side count it as major vitory. As it currently stands i got a few insanely large battles right in the first months and when i destroyed their fleet i get encounters with 20+ ships and after just finding single small battles with torpedo boats light cruisers and so on cause they have no active fleet anymore.

    3. Economy:

We need to allocate money to either recruitment or training and not 1 slider for both of it together or you end up with 50k sailors costing you more then your entire trade fleet or a crew that is worse then you'd sail the ship without crew. Next economy needs to scale properly with the time passing or later tech ships are not payable if the economy doesn't really grow as it should. Give us the option to invest in port capacity like we do in dockyard size. When i start in 1890 when i reach 1920 i could but 2-3 BB's in even the largest german port ... thats it. Make it have a real consequence for the ai if the commander of a navy gets removed if they overspend like reduce their ship amount and reduce their spending in a way they can recover and not just every 6 month getting a new admiral and spending money like nothing happend.

    4. Worldmap/Fleet/Taskforces:

The introduction of task forces was a really great thing before and i have the feeling they work even better now. But i have to reorganize them after every larger encounter searching them in all of my ports (even the searching feels less and i don't constanly find my ships in Danzig). Treat task forces more as one unit so you can set them up and chose them directly on the worldmap. maybe have an option to split up ships to repair them and they return automaticly or let them stick together when returning to repair and after go back on the position you assigned them to. i even would suggest that they could get intercepted on their way home and not like now magically teleport back to port. if thats somehow not possible at least give us an option to assign a home port to a ship where it will return to so we know where to find them again.

    5. Ship design:

It feels alot harder to balance small ships with the new system leading to some odd designs or making me abandon some hulls entirely.

    Whats interesting is this.

Peace server players requested port battles, requested investment, requested taxation and asked for Fair PVP.
Peace they got it all and got the Loki Rune (the NPC prayer to gods to help them).
I have not seen any complaint about the Loki from the peace server ;).
Most complaints about the Loki are is coming from the War server inhabitants.

i never heard of anyone used it or got it working on pve. maybe aswell people ane't aware of suddenly fighting a player. pve players aswell are way less active in forum. if this actually works on pve you will get to hear lots of complains about it very soon.

that has absolutly nothing to do with fair pvp. but if you insist that i think your definition of fair is most likely a different one most people have.

fair pvp on the peace server could look like zones where pvp s allowed or sending a fight request the other one needs to confirm. rewarding delivery missions who require you to be "flagged" as PVP active.

most mmo's i played had some kind of mechanics like that ... instead your view of fair is letting someone who wants to fight AI fight against a player without they even know.

Actually wasn't. Both the Agamemnon and Indefatigable, if the Farrago story is the same situation, were simply anchored somewhere west towards Cumana. Was way after the Victory situation Teutonic presents.

We were moving west out of the straits with no idea they were there and we caught them pants down, anchored... after their main fleet was going North.

The superior seamanship was simply separation and running fight ( that aggy was fast man, well done ). We called it off because bigger fish to fry.

They were not revenged after they exited. They couldn't be helped by their own main fleet which was actually also in battle more to the north.

The entire debacle brought up by Farrago actually shows what various squadrons can do. A group either sticks together or will get destroyed in detail.

Longer join timers ? No please.

With the current taging sytem you can pick single ships out of a fleet if several do that at the same time you can split the fleet wich was nearly sailing into each other in ow into several single battles ... it's riddiculus ... open world distance not even a ship lengh but 2 seperated battles ... aswell i think longer join timers for battles are not the solution ... the can't join battle timers aswell have a reason ... so the only thing left is changing the system how to open a battle

  4. True it conusmes alot of time. just 1 mission a day will not bring you any further. if you don't want to play for at least 2 hours ... better don't log in and play sth different. thats somehow bad ... if things would get easier you would have a higher playerbase for a short time ... till they got everything ... and then? we are in the same situation you describe what will happen because it's too time consuming.

Trading in my point of view is boring. not because of the time it needs ... more because you just buy trade goods by contract and deliver them. if noone delivers them nothing will happen. it has no influance to the game, they could have left it away in the way it is right now but they needed something there is something to privateer.

PvE missions are all the same and just get nice because of the amazing combat system and the people you play with.

what to say about pvp ... it's nice if you have an equal fight even though you lose. but this tag an run is exhausting.

But still i love this game and it's worth way more then i paid for it if i consider my playtime here to other games and how much i enjoy it when i have time

Ok, but all items are tradable so if you want something 'special' from an aspect of the game, commission a player to source it for you. Then use the aspect of the game you farm/grind to trade for it.  What's the issue?

with other words instead of ganking myself i shall pay others to gank? what difference does it make?

just for getting 5% more speed by the bow figure it needed 4 pvp marks. so actually to get it you need to sink more than 1 5th rate ... equal fights and i manage to sink 2 surpirse ... they had it on their ship aswell so they needs to sink another 2 ships each to get it back (already 6 ships are at the bottom of the sea and 6 players are maybe frustrated instead of 1)... that necessary needs to lead to ganking if all pvp players who actually lose their ships and still want to have the best ship as possible so many more need to get sunk ... a slightly better skill in this game doesn't lead to victory because those who have the better gear, if not outnumberd, will have huge advantage ... by pvp marks you could buy upgrade and book (bow figure and optimized ballst) witch gives you together 8% more speed. if you have a ship with 12knots it already makes abou 1 knot speed difference ... so who has it will always be able to get away if he is on the same ship as his opponent even he is worse in fighting he can run and the one who doesn't have this advantage has no chance to catch him ... no chance to earn the marks for himself to get this advantage if he doesn't chose attack 2vs1 or a smaller ship.

now everyone can get these things by doing pve ... no need to gank anymore or support the ganking by giving those money who do... some pve players actually might be better in fighting then the player who attacks him suddenly and now, because he could buy these things, is able to participate in a real fight ...

And, you know, there's nothing stopping people from doing this anyways, even with the current mechanics. Have an alt craft cheap ships, use your main account to sink them. So long as the rewards are higher than the cost of making the ship, you're farming.

On the flipside... what is PVE, if not farming of precisely this nature? It certainly takes less effort to farm automatically-spawning NPCs than it does to go through the trouble of creating an alt account, crafting/buying ships for it, and then sinking them with your main. Why is PVE farming considered more worthwhile / not an exploit, while PVP farming via an alt is? It sort of doesn't make sense.

Full disclaimer: I do not have an alt and do not advocate them. I'm just not convinced that the alleged abuse of alts for farming of PVP rewards is a real problem, in the sense of something game breaking for other players. There's nothing stopping people from doing it now, other than the fact that PVE farming is far more efficient. Which, unfortunately, has the noted corollary effect of making PVP rewards low.

PVE ships fights back ... an alt just fights back if you let them fight back ... since combat marks actually it really isn't efficient anymore but before if you calculate right youcould have made more money than you needed to invest ... especially compared to real pvp ... no repairs and time needed and there is no risk for your ship

Are we talking about marks or alts? In my opinion something has to change PvE is not PvP same as RvR is neither PvE and PvP. Therefore you cant generalize the marks.

I dislike the marks. They stand for everything that is bad in games. Excessive farming + Ganking.

A reputation system should not promote such things. Especially when we dont have a system that take care of BR disadvantages. I mean we still get a hell of a shit as reward when 5 ships sink 1. That is a bad game mechanic. Same as PvE is more rewarding than PvP on a PvP server.

    Dump the admiralty store.

Add nation Repuation. The bigger your BR disadvantages the bigger your national huzzah

Books should get into National Shipyrad supply. The higher your perosnal reputation the more "Books" you get unlocked. Which book you unlock is RNG but every rank unlocks a new one. (similar to ship knowledge)

Perma mods get dumped as well.

Ship permits and Bp can be bought for money at a certain repuation lvl.

Reputation might be a good solution maybe the higher your reputation the lower prices get. but i am against everything what is random ... sry ... if you wanna unlock books like slots then you should be at least able witch book you wanna chose.

i think the 3 perma upgrate slots are good cause actually you lose more if you lose a ship and now by having the compat marks it's not that big loss anymore ...

but actually i don't really see a reason for having more than 1 currency in game as long as they are tradeable cause they in the end have a value in gold so if you wanna keep it make it not tradebale ... if you want to keep them tradeable better remove them and replace them directly by gold (i would prefer to pay everything directly with gold then gather marks)

  8. i don't wanna blame the devs ... in fact the money they earn by this can help them to make this game even better than it is ... i really enjoy playing it ... and i know it's not possible to sucessfully avoid it ... even some games i used to play in the past you needed to even tell them you use 2 accounts from the same ip and promise you don't interact with each other or you got a ban ... i just mean some game mechanics are developed (like to allow you to go into enemy port under a high risk) to be able to avoid restrictions ... these are nearly useless because there are alts ... i'm just saying ... i know we all have advantage of alts .... me included even i don't have an alt

  9. i know ... somehow sad but true ... and it was not ment that they actually should stop it because it's impossible but it would solve some problems and good things could come back cause noone could exploit it anymore ... 95%-99% of the people who have alts don't try exploit ... but those who do are a problem

you havent explained your 5 alts making 20 marks a piece

whats to stop your 5 alts getting 100 marks each and trading you the upgrade or book ??

or putting upgrade on market at a low price for you to immediatley buy

taking your idea further we should just stop trading

no we should stop alts actually ... they take away some parts of gameplay ... no smuggler flag necessary to trade in enemy waters.

I totally agree about removing drops/RNG from crafting/outfit/trims.

There's no real difference between "marks can be traded" and "items bought with marks can be traded" though.
Other than introducing lag, market risk, and inconvenience.

Why would you grind on an alt? There's no real advantage because you can't readily multi box PvE mark grinds against bots unless somebody codes something ;)  so it it makes no difference really whether alt003 is grinding or main001. The supply is the same.

Remove radom drops at all would be a great idea.

The point is some players known to try to exploit the sytem goes into empty port battle with 2 accounts at the same time so he gets twice as many ... but aswell i don't really see a difference in making admirality store items tradeable but marks not ... i can buy combat marks from shop in gustavia anyway right now for i think it was 3000 each so why actually having that marks at all? or are they left overs from those who sold their pve marks?

  12. 2 hours ago, Grundgemunkey said:

like  i said in an earlier post someone was selling 40 pvp marks in kpr within first week of wipe ...your not so innocent minded surely .... im not sure how much goes on but the amount of ships you see sailing around that required a large number of pvp marks to build  is suspicous to me ..

Alt farming and/or noob ganking ... probably it has to do sth with it ...

I agree the rewards nowadays for PvP are not high enough. But if you make special items just accessable for players who invest alot of time in pvp no pve player can ever compete with them at all ... first less experience and second his ship is not that good. everyone of the pvp players who is complaining about the new system always said he was not participating in ganking and they always were searching for equal fights ... but is it still equal if all good shipknowlage is nearly just to get with pvp marks? lets say you board a surprise with your surprise and you have all good bording upgrates but the other palyer could net even affrort 1 yet? that has aswell nothing to do with equality and challange so actually every pvp player writing here should be happy that finally they really can have equal fights ... instead they ask for sth special for them to get ... ok some would be happy with paintings so those i actually consider really as players who really want to fight an equal fight.

Somehow it's funny that a rating system aswell could make some happy ... but better i don't continue this point and keep my thoughts for myself.

  13. Things mentioned in here could give an alternative idea how it could work ... i really mean could because i have no idea if it would be really better ...

anyway if we keep the actual system people who do screening and hostility / counter hostility need to get a piece of the cake so more player are able to get rewards from portbattles except the 25 who can participate in each nation.

1/4 to hostility, 1/4 to screeners, 1/2 to the actual port batlle, within this parts of course needs to be considered how much each person did ... someone who just attacked 1 npc ship of course should not get the same reward to someone who sank 10.

additional to that reward the defender if they fight and not just run away doesn't matter if they win or lose.

these things could make port battles more interesting because alot more will want to participate. aswell random players can get a piece of the cake and it will hopefully motivate them to group up and organise themselfs

  14. I'm totally against RNG loots. make it craftable, make it expensive, do whatever you like (except give further advantage through ganking by make even more very necessary things just availible by pvp marks) but remove the drops. it's frustrating to hear someone found 2 copper platings on one day when i found 4 since the wipe.

  15. This suggestion was made already several times and i think it should come into the game. but as long as the system is like now with the PVP marks most anyway want to sink the ship for the marks and not for getting the ship. rework that sytem with pvp marks and give a siutable surrender mechanic and alot more people maybe will like to do PVP cause they don't always lose their ships.

    @King of Crowns

I'd prefer less time wasting, merge all three servers. PvE core wrapped in PvP like suggested at the start of the year. Open up the Panama Canal and extend the PvE zone NW towards the Japans with its own entrance.

We Carebear or Ganker alike should all play in a world on one server... it could be the eve of a new dawn...!!!

Actually that could be a great idea. An area witch is PVE only, another area wich has limited Portbattle window for EU and an area witch has no PB window. you could drasticly increase the server population and aswell spraeding the population more on the entire map

  17. I think thats an interesting idea witvh aswell don't punish players too much who don't have that much time to play. but still it'S hard for a samll nation to recover. if you increase the value of the captital or decrease the value of counties that a capital is worth like 10 conties it would really motivate to join a low pouplation nation even they just have few regions left. aswell if they fail to capture a port and losing their fleet sinking just half of the fleet of the enemie they might recover faster from that loss then their opponent cause they get more marks per person as long as they are not tradeable

In a realistic sence of thigs this might be true. But in a gameplay way of things thats bad. Its not possible to take any chances when a ship cost you like 2 weeks of gameplay. that means that on PvP server things are out of balance. Either you play hard-core and make NA a part time job or you dont play at all. Most players take solution 2 becourse they are adutls with jobs, wifes and kids to take care of.

2 weeks ... not really ... ok i played alot yesterday ... around 4 hours. i am working aswell full time. still within this time i could make around 300.000 in 5th rate fleet missions in group. so even if you say u just have time for 1 hour a day it makes 7 hours a week. that would mean 525.000 so already 5th-4th rate inculding the canons.  yeah ok pve grinding is maybe not for everyone. trading rewards you with even more gold per hour. and really good players can even make way more then i did with pve grinding.

  19. i fotgot to mention one thing in my first post so that there is not coming sth like don't sail sth you can not replace. yes it's true you should not. but lets say it's worst case ... you just jumped in a 5th rate. still you have 250.000 so you actually really can replace that ship and canons. you got sunk outnumbered by pvp mark farmers. maybe there is still 1 cerberus or renomee in the shop so you can buy another one or as crafter you still have the labor hours to craft a new ship. so you spend your money for the ship and canons. you have 1 hour recently killed so noone will attack you. reward on 5th rate mission depends on how good you are is between 30.000 and 50.000. so you need at least 3-4 missions to replace that loss. takes about 1.5-2 hours. after 2 missions you get sunk again by someone. now you have to replace it again. ok might still be possible if there is still a ship in the shop for a reasonable price but then you have no money left. maybe aswell no repairs. and how about the crew?

if you wanna keep the pvp mark system give the chance to surrender maybe after 5-10 minutes with keeping your ship if the battlerating of the attackers is at least 50% higher as yours. increase the amount of gold but give no pvp marks for the attackers if they sink you. i know thats very likely exploitable. losers get no rewards so it even pushes the strengh of those who just engage when they outnumber their enemy.

but what to do? all suffer because some would "cheat"
