  1. We did give you a month for rebuild, when we left after we destroyed usa up to charleston the first time over a month ago. and you have chose to attack us, maybe overstimating your capabilities.

And we offered an honest agreement:surrender and get east coast back, and 2 months of peace, you refused.  So the surrender option become more nasty and less fair.

    Perhaps you underestimate ours.

  2. I think there should be a hurricane once per real time month.  It should start east of the lesser antilles or near the bay of campeche (most starting in atlantic) and loosely follow standard historical tracks.

ships caught in the storm could have a chance of suffering storm damage, even to the point of sinking.  however, as with real hurricanes, if you make it to the eye, you find an area of calm.

as for tornadoes - impossible because if you are under sail you would encounter waterspouts, not tornadoes.  should hurricanes spawn water spouts? meh - seems like a lot of work programming for little actual return

    I say yes, but:

    1. Going full sail in a storm should results in losing sails

    2. Ability to sail upwind should be reduced or stopped - might get cast onto a lee shore

    3. There should be a barometer on the UI to warn of storms

    4. Ships should only be lost by being cast up on shore or perhaps if damaged and unrepaired after a battle

    5. XP should be gained by surviving a storm

Survival has to be a product of skill as well as chance because that's how the sea rolls

I recall seeing somewhere there may be 3 day forecasts inserted into the game

  3. My thoughts on teleporting:

If left as is, it severely hurts the game.   Why?  Because it is very easy for a ship or group of ships to raid enemy territory and if put in a bad spot, use the teleport to capital as a get out of jail card.   That possibility should not exist.

Tradewise, using teleport to move supplies artifically and unrealistically alters the economy.

    What to do?

For starters, remove the ability to teleport to capital.   Keep teleport simply as an outpost to outpost ability so you can quickly get to a ship harbored at a distant port.  Want to move supplies without the drudgery of the trip?   Allow every ship the ability to hire a one trip only npc captain to sail to another outpost.    Cost is dependent on ship size and distance travelled.    The ship becomes an NPC trader for the journey, but retains whatever mods you have placed on board.   An option to select coastal or offshore travel would be nice too - with offshore travel costing more.

Simple changes like this would allow people to teleport quickly to other outposts to use other ships but would eliminate the exploits created by the current system.
