How about no penalty for faction change.
Give everybody the same advantage that the pirates have.
Limit a player's change to once per month ( or whatever makes sense ).
Right now if a player (or clan) is dissatisfied with his current faction it is a one way street all the way to Mortimer Town.

- Tag system is working as intended.
- You other friends can join the battle
- if they are close to you they will be pulled in if you are attacked.
- They can also attack themselves.
- You can attack yourself.
- But if they were in battle or in port at the moment new battle started they will not get in
- The reinforcement circle can be completely in land - IT IS the design. You can completely deny enemy reinforcement by attacking creatively.

Ships sitting in battle and Ship sitting in port will never reinforce any battle - they won't make it.
Or rephrasing
To be able to reinforce battles now you have to be outside in the open world and maximum at 1m 58 seconds of sailing away from the battle.
To be clear a battle between a ship that is in near land but floating water against another ship floating in water can only be reinforced from land?
What form of reality is this supposed to simulate?
If you don't intend to simulate reality may I have a wheels upgrade for my ship so I can fight in a sea battle?

Okay, tell me, what does "give us the respect we deserve" entail? Putting aside TF and TDA and "Oh they pressured us to join" and "Oh blah blah blah", what does that entail?
On a council of equal clans who's intention is simply to pool the nation's efforts into one concentrated effort, what does "respect" beyond being treated as an equal entail? Would Stars be more "Equal" than the other clans? Would Stars have the right to tell other clans what to do?
You demand that we should have given you respect but you never tell us what we should have given.

I hope it brings you better / more fights, but Lord Vicious is justing making you all look like his lackeys (implying he inspired or orchestrated the switch, implying that you will be used to keep the boot on the US at Charleston). Thankfully you don't bear the shame of being bribed to switch (at least I hope not).
We welcome the AUSEZ to the brotherhood of Pirates. They made the switch for their own reasons and we had no part in their decision.
I encountered them long ago as an american in the STARS and STRIPES clan in which they kicked our butts fair and square in a shallow water PB.
They have our respect , we consider them equals and look forward to working with them.

Why allow enter in port battle with invul timer?
It was great to be able to make a blockade instead of instant PB join
So hide 25 ppl in port, and don't care about the 50 ennemies in front of the harbor... nice
Why should ships that are already in port not be allowed to defend?

It had nothing to do with the Council -- that's just an excuse. Long before the Council existed many of us, myself among them, figured he would go pirate at the first chance. He's pretty easy to read.
I just wonder if any of his SORRY poodles are going to be stupid enough to put resources into a clan warehouse he controls?
It was the clan rank and file that decided to go pirate. It was not Lord Vicious's idea. I know. I was there.
If the council would have treated STARS and STRIPES with the respect we deserved, we would still be Americans. The council chose to alienate the strongest American clan. We got tired of the crap and we decided to do something about it. We are more revolutionaries than pirates. If the game would have allowed revolution so we could punish the council we would have done it. The only avenue available was to go pirate.
Now the Council are outlaws in their own land. They are the pirates and we are the Americans.
The situation is repeating itself in Brit-tard land. The SLRN dominates the politics and they treat their teammates with arrogance. Whole clans have defected and more will follow. The noose is tightening on the criminal British. They are surrounded by enemies and their allies grow weak.

Pirates captured more Ports through naval action in this time frame than Americans did.
Americans should be limited only their original ports only.
Americans should not be allowed anything bigger than frigates.
I make these suggestions only to make gameplay more realistic.

This is a interesting poll but I think better question would be:
Should all nations be limited to only historical ships?
Should nations that never captured ports through naval action be allowed to capture ports?
Many of the ships in this game never sailed the americas.
No nation had more than a handful of first rates ever.
America had only frigates.
Pirates did take ports by naval actions.

Wait, so which is it? Were you planning to play the Benedict Arnold the entire time, or were you forced to turn pirate because of the dastardly"Council"?
You can't have it both ways.
Benedict Arnold betrayed the Americans to the British. Much the same as the council did. We are now the legitimate Patriots of America after liberating it from the British puppets of the Council. Look who you run to for help. It is you who bow to the tyranny of the crown.
We have offered the outlaw clans generous terms for a honorable peace but you persist in clinging to your British overlords instead of living in freedom and justice.

I think that for gameplay purposes that all three tactics ( sail/demast, boarding or sinking) should be balanced. Right now it leans too heavily towards boarding. Demasting is virtually impossible and sinking takes a bit too long.
I did not like the easy leak, easy sink model of the last patch.

Sid Vicious was the attacker, he taged the US players and put himself in that situation. Bad judgement from an experience captain.
The pirate join circle was on dry land. We had time to join but our ships lacked proper wheels so to arrive in the join area. I call on the Devs to fix this obvious bug and provide wheels on all pirate vessels so we may participate in sea battles.

I started this thread so everyone who has defeated SORRY in battle would have a chance to rub it in. I thought it only fair since that is what you guys accuse us of. We have thick skin, we can take it.
I have no problem with a match. I think we should wait and see how this latest patch effects tactics. I myself am not a great duelist but I ain't skeered.

I was excited to hear National News reopened, and then immediately disappointed to see it filled with US/SORRY prick measuring contests. It is further disappointing to see how Vicious's / SORRY's personality contrasts from the forum personality and the one I listened to on Jeheil's clan interview. I want to believe that [sORRY] genuinely gets lambasted by a large amount of this community to an extent that is uncalled for so I can feel sympathy towards them, which would match the vibe I got from Jeheil's point of view, but then I read these bait threads & AARs that range from braggart to downright rude towards opponents.
Normally, I can tolerate a level of toxicity from certain individuals to not think much of it, especially when they are isolated incidents in an online community. [sORRY] on the other hand goes out of their way to meticulously count enemies sunk, only to subsequently chide said enemies on the official forums, then post several National News threads that hardly seem qualitative about their victories, which ultimately make me want to avoid any engagements with their clan on the open seas as I know the experience will be terrible regardless of the outcome. If you beat [sORRY] then they will tell you how many 1st Rates they have stored at Mortimer Town to disenfranchise your victory, and if you lose you can be sure your battle will be archived for all eternity to lord over you in a less than gentlemanly way if you dissent against their clan's opinion.
The worst part is [sORRY] isn't the only clan that's exhibiting this kind of behavior if this thread is any example, and at this point I'd honestly rather see National News stay locked than see yet another thread about any [sORRY]/US interactions.
Since you have no Glorious Victories against the Hated SORRY clan and you must be feeling inadequate I will excuse you acting like a pompous ass. Someday maybe you will have a victory and I will be the first to pat your back and make you feel all better about yourself.

To be fair, i did ask SORRY to post a "glorious battle" they won versus TDA (USA clan).
I'm delighted to say that he has not been able to provide that (so far). Only battles mixed with tf, or battles in wich they outgunned TDA.
I think wise words have been spoken by the TDA leaders in this topic and I feel honoured that I had the chanse to fight along side them. We might have not been able to bring 25 Santi's, but we did do what we could, created fun content and kicked some sorry ass when the odds where even-ish on rare occasions.
This topic shows that both clans are very different and value different parts of the game.
Jack do you have screenshots of the SORRY ass that you kicked. We would all like to see you substantiate your claims,

And why do you call this the Hated sorry clan? I personally don't hate the clan, hell even though we were both in TF together I never knew Lord Viscious, but from his actions in game and here on the forums he appears to be a spoiled child used to getting his way and if he dosent he throws a tantrum, I'm sure many in sorry are reasonable people too, just not sure why they put up with his childish attitude. But then again its just a game and people act differently under a false personality.
The purpose of this thread is to allow people to show off their victories against SORRY. If you want to brag about it all the better.
Look at the posts on this thread from people who have nothing to add except to spew crap. It is obvious that SORRY is hated.

I am not going to go through all of the past history of bad blood in this thread. That has been addressed elsewhere.

I think this is spot on with regards to SORRY and TDA specifically.
SORRY goes to great lengths to get the best gear and make sure as many of their guys are in that gear moving as an organized group, and they are without a doubt some of the best at that. They consider that to be the pinnacle of gameplay skill. They measure themselves and other groups by these ideas.
TDA goes to great lengths to find really fun open sea PVP. We like to have nice gear, but also delight in being on the lower BR side of a fight. Being in the biggest ship all the time is something we just don't find fun or interesting. We consider the pinnacle of gameplay skill to be winning fights that are even or fights where we have the lower BR. We measure ourselves and other groups by these ideas.
Both groups have very different ideas of what skill and winning looks like, and so both groups view the other side as being cowardly and/or ineffective. It's not a bad thing, but it is fun and interesting.
I want to make it very clear that I very much enjoy all of the content all of this stuff created in game and I hope there is much more to come. My hat is off to everyone involved.
It is called Teamwork. A well trained team will trump a group of talented individuals most every time.
That being said, we have some of the very best boat drivers in this game.
I myself am only competent at best.

So let me get this straight.
You made one of the most powerful teams in the game into an ally.
The other most powerful team in the game you basically don't feel like fighting and have effectively declared peace with.
So your clan mates log in every night knowing that it's going to be a boring night of sailing around, maybe attacking empty ports if they're lucky because you have turned a PvP game into a peace and diplomacy simulation.
Flapping your jaw hardly qualifies as a Glorious Victory against the Hated SORRY clan.
If you want to post a screenshot and flap your jaw about how Glorious your Victory over the Hated SORRY clan was , by all means do so.

It's always easy to offer peace to a nation you just stomped down to one, two or three ports. You would do the same.
We have been generous in our offer of peace.
The Americans themselves have posted many times that we are doing them a favor by taking all the ports they have no ability to defend.
They are the ones who long for the destruction of America.
If they didn't they would have accepted our offer of peace.
So be it. The destruction of America be on their heads.
We now will be the Americans.
All of you former Americans join us and reinhabit our shores. Unlike your former leaders we CAN defend our territory.
The only refuge for the outlaws will be Charleston.

Its a week or so old and Ive only been in 2 battles with sorry but heres what I got.
Yes this was certainly a Glorious Victory. The odds were nearly even. I was one of those sunk. I congratulate the victors.

Capturing all these ports just ruins the game for newcomers. They realise that cannt go two minutes away from "home" withou being attacked. They try it a second and a third time - then they leave and tell all their friend this game is no goo fo newbs. Good Propaganda, as if we are not losing enough players.
Sometimes, as a community we should care about the game itself and not some running battles between a few players who hate each other.
By now it should be obvious to all who wants peace and who would rather see a nation go down in flames. Lord Vicious has offered peace on generous terms only to be rebuffed.
