Steam will not refund the purchase. Now I open this refund to the makers of Naval Action. If I don't have any resolve by the end of this week, then I will be calling my credit card company.

And just for dumb stats:

 

Jan 21 - steam release and my 1st day

Mar 10 - Camp du Roy change (50 days) (228 hours played | 4.56 hrs / day avg)

Feb 2 - today (24 days) (0 hours played aside form logging in to check map)

All I know is that it was changed without any real notice, then we were told "next update", then "next content update" and now "one of the next content updates".

 

This is how players are lost and never return to the game, I've left other games for MUCH less and I hope not to have to abandon this one. It may be a small number of players in the long shot, but I would rather quit playing and give you the LARGE amount of money that I paid for access than being forced to start over. Especially when the MAJORITY of players had no pain even close to this to suffer though.

 

Another thing; If the port change was done at the same time as a global wipe (-exp & -crafting exp), then there would be ZERO issue. Instead, there is this very long thread and at least one more covering this ONE topic. At least give us a goal date instead of tossing a carrot on a stick.

Personally I think it stabilized the game's play-ability for the French.

 

Additionally, I believe you don't lose the ships or the Outpost if you don't abandon it.  Just recapture the port and they reappear.

Yes resets could include money ships resources etc

Only two things that are safe and guaranteed by us are Rank and Crafting XP

Wipes if happen could be softened by compensations, but in general we never promised anything except for Rank and Crafting XP.

 

Port ownership reset will definitely happen after land in battles and port investments happen. It is basically a promise now.

Camp du roy will be reverted to free town for some time and then reverted back to neutral on the port reset or maybe earlier. Other freetowns could be affected too.

 

Any update on when I can actually play again? My people miss me and I am quite bored over here.

I signed. Since there was no big wipe as expected, only those who had inv and ships in that port got royally f*ed. Can I get a refund until the next "big" patch please?

There really should be a sound added within certain distance to any land mass to at least indicate when you are nearby land. Sometimes those small islands are missed when there is a heavy fog or even night.
