  1. Last night in a fleet battle our leader was shown as escaped on entry and a message box was shown that I had left the group. It had an X to close in the corner but here was no way I could see to get focus to the box to close it. The box was right in the middle of the screen right where you would aim at a ship. Consequently I was helpless until the box disappeared.

  2. PVE perspective: Fleet battles need repairs for line ships, particularly when things go a little wrong like last night. ( Leader shown as escaped on entry and message shown we had all left the group) Lineships cannot escape when they are surrounded by enemies. In this case I sailed at best point pursued by four 3rd rates and Bellonas. I prevailed by stretching them out and eliminating them one by one but yes, a few repairs were required. I would have been in trouble without them. And urgent repairs were used a few times too. Please don’t limit them to one.

simple: the more frequent you want content patches, the less will be in it.

You will get the same, just with less in it and more delays just due to implementation.

The implementation delay might be worth it. "Steady as she goes" rather than "Everything at once" might mean a better experience all round, including for the devs.

Well its been known for a while now that at the very least there will be a full wipe(apart from EXP and crafting EXP) on release, so if you fear loosing your ships i suggest taking a break untill after NA is released

And the question of the day is when will it be released? Are we looking at two wipes close together? Six months apart? It makes a huge difference as to whether to play or not play following the ship wipe.

  5. We had over 20 players, but US had filled that port battle with 25 players even though we had many guys in battle out side so US had over 25 folks.  In fact when we got the two Santis there was 16 players in that battle against our 5-10.   But every one left leaving the two first rates to be captured by us.  We caught 17 first rates that first week between the US port battle and the Brits first battles taking Spain ports.   We got 2 Santis at the Brit port battle.   So we where doing what your suppose to do on a PvP server...>PVP<.   If ya'll stop running every time we have the 1st rates out than maybe you will win some, cause every time ya'll have had us out number.

Now the problem with shallow water is that is suppose to be a newbie zone and they have over 29 players/AI on there side in the fight out side.  Why was all those AI's allowed in and why was the region not listed as Newbie ROE?   Today at Little Island it did list the area as Newbie and I was able to drag a few of them into the fight out side, but not all them that wasn't in the port battle.   Though great fight, if we had maybe 5 more players it prob would of turned out differently, but as it's a proof Pirates do not have the numbers US and even British does, it's just one clan BLACK brings out numbers of strong players when we fight.  With the help of ZILCH and COMM, but we don't fight in shallow waters much so you don't see us there and it leaves the little clans hurting. I'm one of the few members of my clan that will play in shallow waters cause I like playing different ships.

When sailing a second rate, I think running from a heap of first rates is good sound practice. Admit it, most of your fleet were SOL with plenty of first rates vs the US with a much more mixed fleet. Number of players alone does not paint the picture.

You must also admit from your own description that pirates are acting more as a nation with huge fleets rather than the more traditional raiding pirate. What are you? Pirate or rogue state? Moreover when I went in there were few pirates left outside. I watched you mostly "blink out" of OW before I even entered the PB, allowing me straight entry. The US fleet gathered outside after the PB and sailed North. You guys reappeared and came up behind.

What you can't get away from is you use all the available mechanics to promote ambush while whinging outrageously at any mechanics that protect ships near their own home waters. It's hypocrisy.

  6. It wasn't a picture I saw. I watched it happen. It was a screening fleet protecting a Spanish port for a port battle.  First, second and third rates with a sprinkling of connies and trincos. It was pretty impressive. And yes they disappeared (maybe logged off....I don't know) then reappeared behind the USA fleet and caught some ships...stragglers I think, as you said.

Then the free port switch and squash...where they have a lone pirate out the front. Attack him and you are gone. I saw the SOL gank squad appear for that too.

The think I am saying is it is well and good for them to complain about game mechanics e.g. large fleets in USA territorial waters when they use other game mechanics to ambush people. It's a bit rich.

  7. C'mon. I have seen the pirate's SOL gank squad at work. You wonder why no one will go near a pirate? It's because you never know how many pirates are actually there. Then you complain about game mechanics others used to defend themselves from your own gank squads whilst happily using whatever mechanics you can use to ambush others in force. I was on PVP2  just trying it out and actually starting to enjoy the challenge of rebuilding my financial and crafting position but this patch has done it for me. I can't even craft a frigate now.

I found your enormous gank squad both awe inspiring and also a PVP motivational killer. Your navy is bigger than the US navy and you wonder why they avoid you. Sorry, the sheer hypocrisy is just too much not to say something.

  8. Three crashes in a row from PVE server. It then allows login back into the shard directly. One crash was in a battle. The good news is after the crash  it returned me to the battle. Whew....

There was a slight bug on return. Open world chat box was up covering compass and sail direction. You could just see through it. Everything worked though.

  9. I like the idea but I suspect programming wind as a variable as you propose would be quite a bit of programming,.  I knew an atmospheric physicist once. He used the massive computing power only available to government to write equations for clouds. Perhaps the devs can find a happy medium somewhere. Certainly the current system is a bit unrealistic and a bit annoying. If the wind kept rotating like that at the speed it does, in real life it would be at hurricane force lol.

  10. Sigh......this time....fleet battle...sails got stuck. F was inactive, Q,E, Z, C no effect. Guns operational, rudder operational, no dropped packets in case you ask. I managed to turn so wind suited sail position, successfully sailed off and exited battle normally.
The wear and tear damage on my gnashed teeth is severe. Getting a bit tired of bugged battles here.
    Oh, and reported.

Correction F did go between manual and auto sails but the sails did not....only the label.

  11. Just reporting on PVE server that the battle screen with no battle is happening all over tonight. Many people are unable to enter missions at all.

You mean we just all need to go away until the next patch?

Servers are shutting down. Is the next patch now? :-)

  12. Strangest bug: We went into a mission, got a strange countdown screen and then the battle screen complete with cash and experience....but no battle. None of us thought to push the bug button.

As per request. I followed your instructions. Zero packets lost. Ping 322 to 325. This is obviously happening * a lot*. Not saying go back to the old server but clearly the euro server has problems.

  13. This one is just too much: Mainly because a similar thing happened to me before and also a clan mate, and you have done absolutely nothing about it:

In mid battle you lose input from your keyboard. You can see that it accepts an input (rudder L/R flashes but no effect). You just sail on your last heading. As I was going away from the battle the countdown timer counts down and tells you you can leave the battle. You push esc, then leave battle....and nothing......you are still there.

Then you sail further on well out of shot range....and you notice the battle timer is being reset. How? Every ship is miles away.

Battle timer counts down  rinse and repeat for not being able to leave.

Then you are instantly plonked (teleported) right into the midst of battle (with the keyboard working) however the rest of your small AI fleet has been captured or sunk. This leaves you to deal with 6 ships yourself. How I survived is beyond me.

Can you please fix this once and for all.

  14. I have done fleet actions up to flag captain quite regularly and I can't see much difference. I can see that your motivation is to present a case that the ping will make battle on the PVP server difficult for those not in Europe and hence a desire not to merge PVP2 with PVP1. This is a different issue and your case needs to be made separately. I am more interested to see if others on the PVE server are affected.

Getting slightly off topic myself I do not relish a separate small PVE area on a merge with PVP either. It's like...here, have a few ports and a bit of the map and PVE all you like while at the moment I am enjoying the beautiful scenery and prospects of exploring the whole map. All those islands to find and explore......

  15. Strangest bug: We went into a mission, got a strange countdown screen and then the battle screen complete with cash and experience....but no battle. None of us thought to push the bug button.

And again today....single ship into a fleet battle. Yesterday there were three of us. This time I reported it.

  16. I can see how it won't be to bad as PvE your not doing PB"s and PvP where you need the good ping connection.  When I played on PvP1 you could tell the bad ping rate big time in big battles.  My nomarl ping is about 159 with abour 59 on the US servers.   That is a big jump and it's why many of us don't want to merge PvP1 and 2 cause of the ping rate.   I really don't get why they keep supproting the PvE server as it's not really bringing much to the game and you honestly can go weeks without getting hit in the OW if you just sale smartly.  Hell I only been able to not escape once when I been tagged and didn't want to stay and fight cause I was in a loaded trader.  This prob why we been seeing a lot of PvE guys showing up wanting to join the PvP 2 server.  The bad ping rate after the move.

I don't see why people who enjoy the PVP servers consistently wish to suppress the joy of those who don't. It might not bring much satisfaction to your game but it does to mine. The ability to explore far and wide, the peace and serenity of NOT having to look over your shoulder at every turn and the fine manners and behavior of those sharing the PVE experience being just part of our satisfaction.
