  1. We have moved to PVP1 Euro. Please seek us out there. We have been rebuilding there for a week now. We have the Victory, Santisima, Pavel and other blue prints. These are in the process of being built. We are well on our way to rebuilding on this server and would love to have players join us who are as passionate about this game as we are in Sons of Britain. PvP1 has been constant pvp with defended port battles every day. Numerous open world battles. We are having a blast here shooting off broadsides at players! Britain is surrounded! Come join us in building a new empire on PvP1! Officers to look for are Ghostship, Osscar, Freezer and Critique. Hope to see you soon. Cheers.

  2. San Andres last night was great. French were heavier, made the mistake of capping towers not destroying them and we managed a valient defence once we got there (Spanish screening fleet thought we would come from a different direction).

There was no smacking in chat, just tipping of hats and pleasantries exchanged.

We pulled this battle out of the fire. Shout out to SINK. Only had to ask one person to relax in the battle :P  [not even sure if he was a member of SINK]. I had a blast sailing and battling with all of you this past weekend.

  3. "Meanwhile, the British main guilds continue to attack empty ports a hundred miles away from anyone and setting timers to 14-16, when neither us nor them are online -- a clear signal that they do not actually want to fight anyone and have probably soiled themselves. This is probably why half their team quit and moved to PVP1 but apparently the remaining Brits have learned nothing. What we really wanted to do was move a flag up to Haiti and start a 3 or 4 way war (Pirate/British/French/US?) but apparently the Brits still think map strategy is more important than not boring your own team to death." - Slamz

Wow you sure think highly of yourself. Check out Britain vs. France the friendly war on the national forum. It was an amazing weekend with 8-12 defended port battles each day. Lots of open world sea battles. The Spanish and the Danes were screening for France. The French and British were respectful and exchanged a lot of friendly banter. It was by far the most fun I have had since purchased on Steam.

  4. The move from pvp2 to pvp1 has proven to be a rewarding decision. This past weekend was by far the most fun I have had since I purchased the game from Steam. Hats off to the French and British for being such good sports. I had a fantastic time battling with the various British Clans and getting to know several of you on this server. Sons of Britain continues to work hard and rebuild on this server. Our hope is to once again become a powerful British clan. Thank you Britain for all of your help. Cheers.

  5. While you are busy ridiculing everyone else you might want to take a look in the mirror.

People are looking for a more enjoyable experience.

...perhaps they want more, or better PvP than you could provide

...perhaps they just want a huge map that isn't mostly empty space

...perhaps the just want to be somewhere that you aren't.

What makes you think you are qualified to judge anyone else's reasons?

What business is it of yours anyway?

So sick of seeing the endless flood of immature finger pointing and name calling... no wonder players are leaving in droves.

    THIS!

  6. Points understood Slamz. I was sincerely pulling for your nation during your war with the Pirates. Happy that it worked for your nation.

I found that Pvp2 was quite a bit of fun when we had 30+ SoB online and about 800-900+ on the server. Unfortunately we have not seen those numbers in quite some time. Till such time or a server merge, my fleet of Canadian Warships remain docked in Kingston/Port Royal. My focus has switched to assist in the rebuild the British Empire on PvP1. Good Luck and have fun.

  7. Real curious what you were doing to obtain that.

Why weren't you pushing ports in Florida? How come you aren't grinding fleets outside of Terra-de-bas on your way to pushing into France? Why weren't you rescuing Spain from the clutches of the Americans? What the heck did you even spend your day doing?

There was always a lot of speculation on our end on what the major powers were doing because it was never obvious1.

I have a suspicion that you will not find PVP1 to be any better. Lack of fights was never the problem. PVP2 had tons of combat you could have seen. The problem was a willingness to fight (and not just a willingness to fight very particular types of battles under very particular circumstances).

In retrospect, I'm pretty sure they were grinding NPCs. And probably complaining about how the game was boring and they wish they could get into some fights. Meanwhile, we're sailing past empty British port after empty British port looking to fight players who won't come out.

This is my perspective from within Sons of Britain. The last month or so there seemed to be a wide division of what we should be doing, continuing to push the attack against the USA, defend our current borders or continue to expand eastward. I believe that the majority felt that Britain had over extended and that it was going to be a struggle to defend our expansive borders. This coinciding with a declining server population. The Pirates re-emerging as a threat from the north. Clans in the east leaving. Seemed that the decision was to stay put and defend. Reinforcing this was our numbers that we had online every day was in decline.

Had we pushed the USA in Florida, it is my belief that not only would we have lost the Antilles, we also would have lost Haiti during that last attack on all of British fronts. We just did not have the numbers to extend further as well as be able to defend Haiti effectively.

A number of us were going out in shallow and deep water ships looking for open world battles against the US or the pirates. More often than not the result was 2-3 hours of sailing and maybe finding one or two battles or none at all. This was really disappointing. Seriously Slamz, get off the "all they do is grind NPC fleets" assumption. It simply is not true. So is your assumption about Pvp1 Slamz. Cheers.

  8. An active server with 1800+ on during peak times is a whole lot more fun. I am especially looking forward to the challenge of helping Great Britain rebuild on pvp1. We are the underdog. We have many difficult battles and trying times ahead of us. Pvp1 is hard mode. Pvp2 not so much.

  9. Yea, I heard from one of the British defectors last night.  There has been a steady stream of those over the past week.  I just find the whole thing very surprising.  In war, and PvP, you have to be able to take the loses, as well as, the wins.  The pirates imploded after we made our first push back, now the the Brits are imploding after we made our first push back.  My question is are there any nations out there that can take one on the chin and fight back or is all you have to do it get one decisive push and then poof? (or whatever the sound of imploding is)

In both cases they used port windows as their main defensive strategy, setting them to a time when they "thought" no one would be on, thus making it impenetrable.  But instead, as we have proved twice now, the port windows do not protect you, unless you can set it for a time in which you know defenders will be online, not when you think the attackers will not.

Find the whole thing sad TBH.  This game is supposed to be about war, but so far it's been hard to find an enemy that can last past the first counter-attack.

If that's what you call running away at the first defeat, then sure. What Slamz was referencing is the leveling for purely BR reasons.  Which is a mechanic that doesn't allow fights to happen in the current state.  If you guys really quit because of one statement about game mechanics from one guy, then wow.

Your assumptions are incorrect. The reason that some of us have moved to pvp1 is out of sheer boredom. I want massive fleet battles every night not just on the weekends. Pvp1 offers us that. My hope is that the servers merge or that there is a huge influx of players that can fill both servers. The issue is lack of population of pvp2. Cya around, I will still pop onto pvp2 once in a while. Cheers.

  10. A clan of 12 pirates joined France. A clan of 60 pirates joined Britain. Granted some of the 60 were inactive members and a select few stayed pirate, but for the 30th time stop saying the french got pirated, they did not. More pirates went Dutch, more pirates went British than pirates went french.

Also that clan that went British went to the Yukatan area.. And SOB laughed them off when they asked for help against the US and they got steamrolled by the US without any assistance from you guys.

Lets say SOB is in no position to criticize anyone in my book.

    We can't be everywhere.

  11. Real life commitments prevented me from participating in these battles. From what I have heard, good times were had by all. I was very proud of the British nation, especially after I saw the two screen shots from the two battles Sons of Hano lead against the Pirates! Well done HUZZAH!

In response to our two captured Victories, they were not built just to sit in front of Port Royal/Kingston for screen shots. Its great that they were engaged in battles and sadly captured. Those two have been replaced and them some. Cheers!

  12. when you say all do you mean restart from the beginning or from a certain point.

Back to 0 all ranks gained are lost.

maby you should post this in "suggestions" section.

My bad thought i had switched. Apologies.

There should not be a penalty for flip-flopping to an underpopulated nation.

I like this suggestion. I think it should be implemented by the development team if or when they see fit. Announce it.
