  1. We are conflicted about this for one reason

    1) Right now you cannot find a large PVE engagement even if you want to.

    2) This feature (or to some players - exploit) provides this option

    There are two solutions

Disable reinforcement until large pve fleets or epic events are added

Keep reinforcement and close the eyes for people arranging PVE for themselves.

Keep in mind that a large port battle generates a lot more XP and Gold (from 3000xp and up to 1 mln gold if you participated in a very large engagement)

And OW trafalgars if they happen provide a loads of xp and gold for both sides because there are no victory modifiers - you get excellent xp just when you sink enemies even if you lose the battle.

So what is the community view on this?

    Disable

    Or

    Keep?

Make it so that you don't have to go through the loophole of getting another account to do this.

Why don't we have scalable missions that simulate this? Take the mission as a group and the system will spawn ships accordingly, or something of the sort.

  2. Provide examples so we're sure everyone follows, myself included.

Good example for an upgrade that is just a flat upgrade at the moment:

    • Current Improved Magazine Access: -5% Reload Time
    • Sidegrade Improved Magazine Access: -5% Reload Time, +10% chance of Fire on your own ship

    • Current Copper Plating: +2.5% speed
    • Sidegrade Copper Plating: +2.5% speed, -5% hull integrity

    Or something of the sort.
  3. I don't know how you think this is a good alternative to 1 minute timers...

Not only will this put uneeded strain into the server requiring extra calculations for each joinee in the battle, but will also require extra coding for the function to be there in the first place.

What 1 minute timers give you is the ability to analyze the battlefield before anyone can commit to a battle. What would be the point of distance based tagging if, as you say, it will be up to an hour for the reinforcements to catch up to the battle (if the battle has moved from the spawn point at all)

There's just too many variables for this to be viable bro.

All you suggested can and would be addressed with 1 minute timers.
