  2. Ok, let me get this straight...

    Denmark/Norge is allied to France

    France is allied to Sweden

Verenigde Provinciën is allied to Denmark

Sweden and VP are currently fighting port battles.

France is at war with the british

Denmark/Norge is at war with the british

Sweden is allied with the british

This is like playing chess with 5 colors of pieces!

  3. However I can only tell for myself and every PFK player have their own opinion on the topic I think You misunderstood PFK intentions.

We're mainly PvP players, we've joined PvP server because of it, and we want a real fight not some kind of prearranged kindergarden...

PFK players range from guys in 3rd rates to guys in Snows or Mercuries and all of them are looking for fight with other players, that is the whole point for why PFK exist.

So main problem of PFK is that with this treaty there is no real war going on, there is no real PvP and with no PvP there is really no point in staying in Dutch nation...

Just offering an option: How about joining the Dutch allies in their fight? The Danish are fighting the brits in the north, and I think they can use help. No need to change nations or servers, just make an outpost there (I know many Dutch already did) and sail with them.

Also, continuing the fight against the French would just postpone your "problem". As things were going, it would take a few weeks more before France was reduced to one port and that would have the same result as a peace: no French to fight with. So either way, if you want PVP, you'd have to seek it on a different front sooner or later.

  4. Many Dutch players have similar opinion to us that DAS/ BOAT was not speak as their representative.

The weird situation is that DAS/ BOAT wants to be give everything to French even with taking risk that they will fight alone in future and will lost support of half Dutch nation which had fight with Spanish to get a chance to fight united at one front against France.

Of course DAS/BOAT doesn't speak for any of the other clans or for individual players. DAS/BOAT can only decide for DAS/BOAT. Other clans can only decide for themselves.

If French clans break the treaty with any dutch clans that agreed on the treaty, they will fight. What other clans then decide to do is up to them.

The opposite is also true. DAS/BOAT cannot force others to make peace, others can also not force DAS/BOAT to have war. This should be respected from both sides. Each clan is free to make their own choices.

Where is my money in this agreement?

    I took it. :P;)

  5. A solid deal. My only disappointment is that there was no agreement on arranged portbattles. I hope that can still be added in the future. I was looking forward to massive port+OW battles when both sides agreed to meet up at Port X and fight it our for fun. But who knows what can grow in the next two weeks :)

Of course, there will always be clans and individuals that disagree. Such is their right, it's a sandbox game after all. I wouldn't have named this topic "French and Dutch xxxx", but something that showed it was a number of clans from each side instead.

  6. But this provocation just proves how the British mindset is, in their mind obviously a treaty is made to be broken.

It's quite obvious of course. The Brits line of thought is:

So... if the Dutch are no long held back by the French, the French neither by the Dutch nor the Danish and the Swedes are not being held back by the Danes... then who's going to stop them from deciding that there's a few to many Don's in town? Better make this treaty break, before it breaks us!  :o

    It's an existential fear.

  7. You could probably add USA into that alliance, since Dutch have a good friendship going on there ;)

Perhaps when a Du-Fr-Da-Sw-US alliance reduces the amount of ports the brits hold by roughly 88... that might help increase their understanding of how this peace treaty came to be and why it is a good thing. It's easy to have a big mouth to others while sitting on 89 ports and not having suffered any real combined attacks.

  8. I think that without in-game implemented diplomacy, anything other than a "no port battles" agreement is going to be very hard to achieve. I think the deal between France and the Dutch is as solid as it's going to get. They have their territory, we have ours, we agree to fight fair port battles without really conquering any territory. Anything more than that is very hard to uphold, as you can't really force an entire nation not to attack another nations single ships or small fleets.

If any small group wishes to rebel, we can't really prevent it. But knowing the French, if a small Dutch group rebels and doesn't get aid from the bigger clans, they will pretty much be roflstomped and that's the end of it.

  9. I like it. In the meantime, we were theorizing about a system where capping too many ports in too short span of time (talking weeks or months, not nights) would stack up "debuffs" on your nation, making it harder to attack future ports (limiting BR, limiting slots) and defend newly acquired ports (less/weaker forts due to overstretching forces, less slots). The idea behind is to make it possible to roll over other nation - but with skill (winning an unfair fight) and not with numbers.

I like that idea as well. Much more effective than just making stuff more (and exponentially) expensive, as that would only lead to heavier and heavier grinding.

  10.  Cant wait till it all turns sour and they run away tail between their dutch arses. Hahaha.

Someone seems especially salty today!

In a sense, I agree with you though. We both seem to feel that the French (and non-French in their nation) will bounce back. There will be many more great battles to come and whether on the winning or losing side, it'll be awesome. Game is called Naval Action for a reason.

  11. @Ironclaw: Not rly sure where u get your info from, most of the french clans I talked to never wanted to wipe the dutch from the map when we had the momentum, so thats just a lie. If you talk about the east which u lost, you still had more ports than the french in total after that, so it's not really comparable to the wipe you guys are after here.

We're not after a wipe, as you might know after the talks that were held late last night. We're looking for a solid solution that would keep things fair to both the French and the Swedes. And if I understand correctly, there's actually a truce of sorts established now.

So, as I understand it, you fancy yourself judge, jury and the executioner and you think I'm on trial...? I fancy you a fool, sir.

No, I simply question your motives. You actively participate in taking a massive amount of ports from another nation, and then complain when the same happens to you. But you seem unwilling to discuss it, so we'll both stay with our current conclusions then :)

  12. If you want to discuss something with me, feel free.

I do. Which is why I asked a few questions that might help clarify your opinions on some matters, and explain your motivation behind your viewpoints. As I understand it at the moment; You are fine with joining in a roflstomp on your enemies, but accuse others of "breaking the game" when you're on the receiving end.`(So, yes, "begging the question", that is my conclusion so far, which I'd like to discuss, and since you seem to like wikipedia, this one seems to fit there). Or at least that is what your actions show so far. But maybe I misunderstand, which is why I asked those questions. The questions seem on-topic to me, addressing some things you did, and asking for your opinion on some matters.

  13. I've posted plenty of times different ideas of how to avoid the problem, as well as how to actually allow nations to be wiped AND keep them playing and having fun.

That is one (well, maybe 1 1/2) out of 4 questions answered. The others were too inconvenient to answer I suppose?

What is your opinion on the period a few weeks ago when the Dutch lost 2 ports in the west to the spanish and at the same time lost the entire trinidad region in just 2 nights to the French?

If so many people left the game after the last two nights, as you claim, how do you explain that this wasn't the case during the above mentioned period?

If you really consider a two-fronted attack on one nation, resulting in the loss of a massive amounts of ports in a short timespan to be "unfair" or "broken", why did you yourself take part in the above mentioned attacks?

  14. At any rate, there will be no bouncing back. What is in game is in game. Whoever left the game is off for a greener pastures.

Congratulations. I hope you guys are proud of yourselves.

Can you please link me your post where you addressed either "broken mechanics" or "unfair play" during this period?

  15. It seems the Dane-Dutch-USA coalition excels in attacking the lesser nations... I think we have decided who the Axis of our server are :)

Since when is France a lesser nation? Just a week ago they were boasting how they brought 300 players to attack 5 dutch ports at once. There's nothing "lesser" about the French. They are quite a big nation, they have a large number of great experienced sailors who have always proved to be a great and dangerous opponent. They've had it rough for two nights, but they will bounce back, I have no doubt.

  16. I'm not Swedish. I'm merely looking at this situation from a long distance away, and commenting on what I perceive to be an attempt at humiliating the opponent on the forum on top of in game.

My post wasn't aimed at you personally, I'm sorry if it offended you. It was more a general remark on diplomacy. If I understand correctly, the Danish fleet went unopposed. How can that be when two nations (swedes and french) had nothing else to do but defend at that time? Before diplomacy and mechanics get blamed, I think that question needs some answering.

  17. 1. if the offer had been sincere, I'd have expected you to attack towards West today, not buy a flag the second the ultimatum was over for English harbour.

But you had tons of French to help you out in that battle. Their ports in the south weren't open yet, so around 4 French fleet (the allies you chose) were there to help you out.
