Gentlemen,

 

I'm pretty sure it has already been adressed. If not, allow me, to point my finger at the ingame map. 

 

Good to have one. But on this huge, huge map it's pretty easy to get lost. Example: You set your course to a location. After some time you cannot see any shore at all. Fortunately you encounter an enemy ship and tag it. After leaving the battle once again it really is very, very hard to even tell where you want to go now. So... it would be so very helpful to not only see a map but also a little info, where your ship is atm. If you want to make it complicated, don't show the direction the ship is pointing at. But at least spot the position.

[Tutorial-Vorschlag]

Werte Kapitäne,

 

als "Neuling", der erst ab dem Wochenende seine Segel setzen kann, habe ich das deutsche Subforum ziemlich intensiv durchstöbert und viel Lesenswertes gefunden. Danke dafür.

 

Was mir auffiel: Es gibt ein - wie ich finde - ausgezeichnetes Tutorial, das den allerersten Einstieg in das Spiel erleichtert. Was zusätzlich helfen könnte (wenn es das nicht irgendwo bereits gibt und ich nur zu dumm war, es zu finden) sind ein

 

- Handels-Tutorial (welches die ersten Schritte erläutert, wenn man seinen Fokus auf Produktion und Handel legen möchte).

- Kampf-Tutorial (welches die Basics der Seekampf-Steuerung und Taktiken erklärt).

 

Nur falls einer von Euch Profis Lust und Zeit findet...

Al Pliskin? I remember that Name from the old PotbS-days. An Kiefer Kain? Of course :-) Good to see some familiar names!

Played PotbS for nearly three years with the Saint George Squadron. I found the portbattles highly entertaining. Some of those encounters were the best tactical rvr-experiences I ever had (and I had some...). The first year was a good experience, the community was not too big and even rp was enjoyable. 

 

As some of you already mentioned, a bit later the game was Kind of "destroyed" with the changes that were made. Still miss those "old PotbS-days" from time to time.

mit großer Freude und Genugtuung habe ich soeben die Nachricht der Admiralität erhalten, die mich in die Gewässer der Karibik entsendet hat. This game really seems to be fantastic. Cannot wait to play this. I really loved PotbS, but the game is rather outdated. So just as I thought there would never be a worthy successor, I found this... and must admit that I'm flattered.
