UNITED STATES NAVY

CROWN HAVEN NAVAL STATION, NORTHERN BAHAMAS

AFTER ACTION REPORT
FROM: JLAM, Ensign, USN
SUBJECT: ANTI-PIRACY PATROL

01Feb16

1) Lt. McPrankster, En. JLAM, En. Joshua Barney, and En. Ahlos Dahel, organized an anti-piracy operation approximately three hours prior to this posting. It involved approximately 9 USN particpants (both officer and enlisted) as well as over a dozen citizens of the USA. People were ready to fight the pirates, but lacked leadership and direction- they quickly answered the call to battle once a unified force was acting.

2) The pirates operated out of Cabo Canaveral, and used a Basic Cutter as a scout vessel. The cutter would spot targets, and engage them. The main pirate task force (two Cerberus, one Renommee, one Snow) would then launch from inside the port and attack the target. They appeared to primarily target NPC trade vessels, but also attacked vulnerable player trade vessels. This pirate group had been operating up and down the Florida coast for most of the day, and were spotted well beforehand near the Bahamas. After the operations, they were seen sailing southeast towards or near Walker's Cay in the northern Bahamas.

3) The first engagement was primarily built up of Cutters, both player and AI. While we held a numerical and battle rating advantage, we could not catch up to the pirate frigates. After reinforcements arrived, two Cerberus, Renommee, and some other ships, we determined the best plan of action was to disengage from the battle, and allow another battle to commence with the larger allied ships.

4) The second engagement consisted of the major allied ships and cutters against a Pirate Renommee and Cerberus, while myself and a USMC vessel chased down the lone Pirate Cerberus and initiated a third engagement. Sometime shortly thereafter, the pirates escaped from the second engagement, but we were able to lock down the Cerberus in the fight.

5) With time, more allied vessels joined the fight. Simultaneously, a fourth engagement began against the pirate Snow. The Snow was sunk, and after a long chase, the Cerberus was summarily destroyed.

CROWN HAVEN NAVAL STATION, NORTHERN BAHAMAS

AFTER ACTION REPORT

FROM: JLAM, Ensign, USN

SUBJECT: CONFLICT IN THE BAHAMAS

01Feb16

1) Shortly after the USN and Pirate naval engagements off the coast of Florida, the pirate organization [OMG] led an invasion fleet against the USN-captured port of Frozen Cay. The [uSN] was unable to respond in force, though Petty Officer Mudflat and Ensign Ahlos Dahel were able to engage pirate forces protecting the battlezone.

2) Of note, Ensign Ahlos Dahel (at the helm of a Snow) challenged four pirate vessels simultaneously, consisting of a Navy Brig, Mercury, Brig, and a Cutter . Despite the odds against him, Ensign Ahlos Dahel was able to singlehandedly sink three vessels and force the Mercury to retreat.

3) The pirate fleet attacking Frozen Cay was defeated by scattered American defenders. Many pirate vessels routed, and several high-value pirate vessels were sunk in the bay. [uSN] forces began moving to the Bahamas to be better prepared to defend in the event of another pirate assault.

4) Approximately an hour later, [OMG] led another pirate invasion fleet, this time to assault Harbour Island, another port previously captured by the [uSN]. With numerous American fleets in the area, the response to Harbour Island was rapid and overwhelming. The [uSN] and [uSMC] decided to launch a counterattack against the pirate port of Morgan’s Bluff while their forces were fighting in Harbour Island.

5) Due to the magnitude of the US response, the pirate forces were quickly defeated in Harbour Island, which in turn allowed them to quickly respond to defend Morgan’s Bluff. With many US forces still bogged down in Harbour Island, the pirates were able to build a considerable defense fleet and engaged the [uSN] and [uSMC] forces in Morgan’s Bluff. With no external support, and unaffiliated American vessels fleeing the battle early on, the [uSN] was unable to secure victory at Morgan’s Bluff, and inflicted minimal pirate casualties.

6) After the battle for Harbour Island ended, the US forces sailed for the pirate port of Alabaster Rock, despite the call for assistance at Morgan’s Bluff. With the bulk of pirate forces elsewhere, [uSS] and other American forces were able to easily capture the port with minimal resistance.

7) Summary: Despite a failed naval invasion at Morgan’s Bluff, the US was able to defend Frozen Cay and Harbour Island, as well as takeover Alabaster Rock. The [uSN] suffered a handful of casualties, however the pirate clan [OMG] suffered staggering naval and financial losses over a period of six hours, starting at Cabo Canaveral.

The last time there was a battle with a pirate was 2 weeks ago (which consisted of a single snow vs entire USN).

UNITED STATES NAVY

CAPE CANAVERAL NAVAL STATION, FLORIDA

AFTER ACTION REPORT

FROM: JLAM, Ensign, USN

TO: NAVAL HEADQUARTERS, CHARLESTON

SUBJECT: JOINT TASK FORCE, FLORIDA

07FEB16

1) Beginning Friday evening, the combined naval forces from [uSN], [soL], [uSS], and [uSMC] initiated a Joint Task Force Operation with the purpose of bringing the eastern seaboard under the control of the United States. The ports of Saint Mary’s, San Augustine, San Mateo, Ayamonte, Nueva Smyrna, San Sebastian, Ays, Jobe, and Cayo Biscayno, have all been liberated by the US naval fleets.

2) Operating in two battle groups, the US forces encountered no Spanish resistance. However, a distant and undefended US outpost, La Anguilla, was invaded and captured by a number of Spanish vessels during the operation. This was the only retaliatory attack inflicted by the time of this report.

3) Sometime after the major operations ceased, minor offensives were launched into the Bahamas to safeguard the Florida coast. The Pirate ports of Bimini and Nassau were captured by a flotilla of US vessels with no armed resistance.

4) The impacts of the Joint Task Force Operation are yet to be determined, though currently US merchants are enjoying more numerous, varied, and much more secure trade lanes.

KEY WEST NAVAL OUTPOST, FLORIDA KEYS

AFTER ACTION REPORT

FROM: JLAM, Ensign, USN

TO: NAVAL HEADQUARTERS, CHARLESTON

SUBJECT: Royal Spanish Armada of Florida

08Feb16

1) A small flotilla of Spanish vessels was spotted in the Florida Keys off the coast of pirate-held Islamorada. The flotilla consisted of a Cerberus, a Renommee, and a handful of Snows. They engaged and nearly sunk a [uSN] vessel, which managed to escape, and were seen preying on other US vessels in the area. Ensign JLAM organized a small force consisting of shallow and deep-water vessels to hunt down and eliminate the Spanish vessels.

2) [uSN] and participating US vessels assembled at Jobe, and sailed for Islamorada. By the time the US forces arrived, the Cerberus and Snows were gone, however a lone Renommee was spotted outside of Key West and engaged. Upon being ordered to surrender, the Spanish Renommee struck her colors and the vessel was captured without resistance. Shortly afterward, another Renommee was spotted and sunk.

3) Shortly thereafter, a Spanish Snow was spotted in the harbor of Key West, but it refrained from leaving the safety of the harbor. Looking for the Cerberus and other Snows, the US forces sailed south for Havana, Cuba, to strike back at the Spanish.

4) Off the coast of Cuba, US forces spotted a large Spanish battlegroup and engaged. The US forces were a group quickly and haphazardly gathered, and by comparison were disorganized. The Spanish Armada of Florida [ARF] outgunned and outnumbered the US forces, and the battle carried on for some time. The majority of participating US vessels were sunk, with the Spanish suffering only minor casualties. Additional US forces, late to the battle, organized a second force off the coast of Cuba, and were preparing for another attack on the Spanish by the time of this report.

5) The results of the second US group engaging the Spanish are unknown. Any impact from these engagements are yet to be seen, though many northern US forces have begun relocating to the Florida Keys in anticipation of future naval engagements, bolstering the minor US presence in the area.
