disable Battle Timer in NPC Battles

Hello fellow Captains, 

 

first of all i'm just playing since the Steamrelease today and i'm not a native english speaker. So please pardon any mistakes and if a similar topic already exists that i haven't found with the search function please provide me a link. 

 

I'm really enjoying this great game so far. I've just encountered a little thing that has bugged me which is the 1,5h battletimer. While i do see the reason of this timer in Player vs Player Battles since not everybody is willing or able to invest this much time in a single Battle, but i believe that a Battle against only NPC Ships shouldn't have such a timer. Just about 2 hours ago i was engaging a Navy Brig in my little Basic Cutter, i was just curious what would happen and now i'm pretty sure that i've could have won the fight either by sinking or by capturing the Brig if i just had more time. 

 

I know winning such fight shouldn't be easy or quick, but i believe that if a Player is willing to make this huge investment of time, he or she should be able to do so. 

Capturing this Brig would have made my day and seeing his sails slowly fall apart just like his armor while i was preparing to target his crew was pretty exciting. Unfortunaly the timer ended the battle and left me on the ocean, alone and a litte bitter (yes the Gold and Exp were nice, but after failing the big goal i considered them pretty 'meh').  

 

TL;DR please remove the Battletimer from Fights against NPC Ships

Did the npc disappear from the battle once the timer was up? The only time I ran over in pre-steam alpha the ship I was fighting stayed in, I sunk it and got the full xp for damage and sinking which happened after the battle had technically ended. This may well have been a bug and so fixed. The timer does prevent (if working properly) teams of little ships effectively damage farming a SOL for hours on end.

That's kinda strange, the npc did disappear. In hindsight i'm not too sure if it was the exact same second the timer hit zero. I'll check that and try to find me another big guy to fight and report back here.

Ok, i was wrong. Don't know what happend in the fight before but i can confirm that npc (at least the NavyBrig) stay in combat even after the 1,5h timer.
