Zeekoning
The Aurora was a 32 gun frigate built in Vlissingen by P. Schuijt Jr, which was sold in 1818. Not much is known about this ship except that it was eventually renamed Vriesland. Dimensions 145 X 40 ft (unspecified type; probably Rijnland feet, but could also be Amsterdam feet) Plans Source: Rotterdam Maritime Museum Edit: Fixed source's link Edited September 24, 2015 by Zeekoning
maturin
1818, eh? It's pretty amazing that the Dutch built frigates like it was 1718.
Zeekoning
If you are talking about it's shallow draught, please remember that they had to get in and out of the Zuiderzee easily. Either way, it's within the time frame for the game. Edited September 21, 2015 by Zeekoning
maturin
If you are talking about it's shallow draught, please remember that they had to get in and out of the Zuiderzee easily. Either way, it's within the time frame for the game. I mean that it's not really a frigate, with its great huge lower deck and all that freeboard. More like a two-decked warship of the early 18th century, before the true frigate emerged. All that unnecessary above-water hull doesn't make it easier to have a shallow draft, either. For some reason the Dutch stuck to this obsolete type, even while adopting newer design features in the hullform and topsides.
Mirones
you forgot the part that she can be rowed with oars Maturin so its a natural given for the Dutch.
