1st Naval Action Fleet Tournament

Recommended Posts

We need some fleets with captains (hopefully in comms) for the first (of hopefully many) fleet tournaments.  Looking to get 10 man teams where hopefully 8 show up but 6 at the very minimum.

If each team brings 8 the ship allocation will be; 1 Victory, 1 Bellona, 2Const, 2 Trincs, 2Surprise

If less people than that each team can agree to changes ie-no vic for 7 no Bellona for 6 or whatever

If a team can bring 9 or 10 or more so be it.  As long as both teams have the same numbers.

What we also need here is someone who can record the battles (as often as they can) with commentary.

I can do some of the matches I am not involved in.

So post your fleet after I post mine here and after we get 4 or 6 fleets we can proceed.

Also-If you are a badass, passionate player...you may join as an alternate on one other team.

Hopefully we can get a few other fleets as well. The match we had with TDA was a blast. It was a much different game than the typical pub.

Agreed.  Looking forward to more matches with you and other clans.

My heart was pounding like never before, even when we were out of range just moving into formation. I feel like it will also help bring the different fleets closer together and ofcourse spice up the competition. I am sure that tournaments of one kind or another will be a part of the NA future.

Truly enjoyable, it was an honor playing against you guys - Looking forward to the next one!

It would be a cool idea if you could have 1 Victory, 1 Bellona, 2Const, 2 Trincs, 2Surprise and both teams can dice what their last ship is going to be ranging from cerberus and up

I like that for our Training matches. In open world i don't think we should ever expect 100% balanced fights. For the tournament though i'd have to say that i think it should be 100% balanced to make it fair for everyone. ^^

I think if there is enough interest, a smaller format could be considered (eg, 5v5, etc).

If an enterprising person knows an easy system for pick-ups & randoms, they could facilitate sign ups for pickup groups. Do each team with a spare.

Edit: I speak out of turn! Let's see numbers, then ask the organizer...

Until reopen sale PFK cant participate - lack of members with copy of game. Gladly we join after if this will be possible. Good Luck all Captains! If all our members log in now we can do 3v3:P

You failed to mention a time/timezone for this OP.

I am not part of a fleet per say as I've only been playing for maybe a month but wouldn't mind participating.

Booyah-I started the topic to see if we could get some fleets to sign up. As of right now its just The Auld Alliance and The Decatur Armada. I encourage everyone who has a mic to participate and then we can set a date. Dont worry if you are not affiliated with a clan or guild, you can always form up with similar people or add to our already existing fleets.

I'd love to get in on this, but I am not a member of a guild (yet).

If you turn this into a weekly event, it could be a great way for unaffiliated players to meet the fleets and/or form their own squadrons, and keep the game interesting and challenging for long-time players.  Just pick a time and place, ie wednesday nights at XX time on such-and-such's teamspeak, and work out the details once everybody arrives.  With everyone on teamspeak, organizing a battle becomes much easier.  We can also do special events such as recreating specific battles, choreographing for film, or doing themed battles like two-masts-or-less fights, Surprise Skirmishes, convoy escort/attack, Tall Ship Racing, etc.

Back when I played Mechwarrior Online, one of the major clans organized a weekly event called the Tuesday Night Scramble.  We gathered a huge group of players together, then used teamspeak to coordinate so every player pressed "search for match" at the same time.  This ensured that nearly every player got placed into a randomized but teamspeak-coordinated team, facing another randomized but teamspeak-coordinated team.  As soon as each match began and we knew our allies and opponents, we would drop from the main teamspeak channel into a number of smaller sub-channels.  Once the match was finished, we'd go back to the main channel and wait until all matches were finished and then we'd do it again.  This weekly event continued for many months during the open beta for the game, essentially keeping it alive during a time when proper team gameplay mechanics hadn't been added yet.  A similar event for NA would be a great way to pass the time until Open World.

I've done some community in another "Early access" game and you bring up some very good points there Prince!
I will definitely start thinking about how to make some kind of "Community" event, hopefully we'll be able to bring some more life back to the playerbase!

We are planning to launch a french speaking socieyt in the next days. It will have to grow a bit and organised but be sure we will be part on a tournament if we got the group and the structure to be in.
