Campaign option for fleet size in engagements would be nice

As the title suggests, I would like to ask for such an option.

Since 1.05 it seems that most engagements are quite huge compared to earlier updates (although I tried only the 1890 start date so far).
For example I constantly get convoy defend engagements, which would contain every ship I have in Hamburg or Wilhelmshafen like f.e. 5 BBs and 10TBs against the english of the same or bigger size. เว็บดูบอล

For me personally its more fun to have small engagements, like 1-4 BBs against 1-4 BBs, maybe with some screens like 3-4 TBs or LC.  Especially the 1vs1 or 2vs2 battle are quite fun for me, as they allow me to compare my design exactly against the enemies design, no matter the ship class (well, maybe without the smaller classes like TBs or DDs).

The biggest problem for me with huge engagements currently is the fleet control, setting TBs or DDs to the "screen" command makes them swim too far away from the main battle line and let them sometimes make suicide attacks, alone and against the whole enemy fleet. As I understand the "screen" command they should stay close to the main battle line and only engage those TBs,DDs which comes to close and not hunt them back, maybe the commands should be split up in the future to something like "Passive Screen" and "Aggressive Screen". Also it would be beneficial to choose the side on which the screens are, quite often the AI puts f.e. 3 Screens on the "outer" sight where no enemies are and 1 screen on the correct side.

So at the moment its quite micro heavy work to have those huge battles, as I constantly need take care of my main battle line and 1-3 different screen battle lines, which need constant baby sitting, like changing the direction and adjusting the speed.

It would be also nice if mid line BBs which are getting hit on their engines would not make a full turn to get on the last position in the line, but would rather slightly go the right side and just let the ships behind overturn them.

Hello, do you put your whole fleet in a task force or you distribute your fleet in your ports?

When using all your ships in a task force, this fleet is not separated in combat and the AI counters it with at least equal forces.

Maybe reinforcements it's good solution. Battle begin between maximum 10-20 heavy ships, and more small ships come after some time. If main squad defeated before reinforcements arrive - the battle ends.

I was just thinking that tonight. If you have another task force nearby and you have good enough radio, you can potentially call for reinforcements.

Did you just copied my thread word for word ? Well, at least you got some answers I guess 🤣:

I my current campaign I had the same problem as Germany with Britain, they kept a extremely large task force in the North Sea with something like 12 BBs, 15 CA, 30 CL and 40 CL, 30 TB (roundabout) and I had  every ship in ports besides some 1 ship Task Forces like 1 CL or 1 BB and even those small Task Forces triggert that british doomstack to attack them. Also multiple times I could not flee with my 34 knots CL in the campaign window (They had nothing even close to 30 knots, I checked it), so I  had to load the battle and then flee as they could never reach me with their 20 to 24 knots ships.

I even tried to fight them once with only 6 of my own BBs and 4 CLs, but had to end the battle as I got maybe 5 fps when switching over to 2x or 3x speed and was hearing the british fleet crashing all the time.

In the end I solved it through sending all my fleet which wanted to scrap anyway as my modern Battleship design arrived next round into battle with them and let it auto resolve, after that the doomstack was smaller then somehow vanished.

But it happens quite often that The British or French are attacking single or 2-3 Ships of mine with huge doomstacks, I even dont use screens anymore because of that, because a fleet like 2 BBs and 5 CLs will with like 95% trigger a doomstack attack.

I'd ask for an easier way to sortie your forces into task forces, say , click a spot on the map and it shows you available ships, instead of having to go port to port to send them out. Usually I end up sending them all to one point then distributing from there, but  the AI does like running headlong into that initial gathering.
