bso1capt
Severely listing ships are able to fire even though the guns are at a angle where their salvos should go into the water, due to insufficient elevation, on the low side and on the high side, insufficient depression, send the salvos into the sky. Gunnery has been observed to be firing into the water and but still appears to have effect on targets. Degrees of list should be factored on accuracy and their ability to fire at all.
Captain Meow
Yes, a something I keep noticing often... My 1895 BB with a severe list & all his broadside low-placed row of secondaries either submerged or clearly looking in the water still manage to hit enemy from that side while main guns are on reload. Same from the other side where broadside guns look in the sky. It only shows that % of hit is lower due to list but still means it's possible to hit even though visually & technically it's impossible. Of course some might say that then the game would be unplayable with too much realism / common sense applied.
