More pre-WWI chungy (Ship retrofitting)

I'd like to be able to use assets from previous years with a mix of more modern tech from the current years. The first French battleship hull is my absolute favorite thing to ever exist (to whoever made that model ily) and I'm sad I cant use it a lil longer or be able to refit them to still be a little competitive. I feel like in the campaign retrofitting would be nice too to make sure your whole fleets don't need to be scrapped or sent to absolute certain death against new just because you aren't allowed to put newer guns on them. Maybe with a ship that old it would hardly be worth its weight in scrap but I'd like to have the ability to keep using them.
