Shipbuilding result tied to builder experience....

Shipbuilding results based on ship exp of the builder

  1. 1. Do you believe that the possible quality of a ship be based on the exp lvl of the builder in that particular ship?

    • Yes. The cap abilities (boxes opened for instance) of the ship built should include the exp level of the builder in that particular ship.

    • No. Keep the outcome of the ship built as a result PURELY of RNG with no relation to the exp of the builder.

As a relatively new player of only about 80 game hours it seems to me that when building a ship your chance at getting a 5 box ship should be based on you actually having unboxed that ship. The builder should have unboxed all 5 boxes in order to have the chance to build a ship with all 5 available. As far as the game goes this would reward those that have put in the time to gain exp on that ship and would separate shipbuilders rewarding those who have put in the time on certain ships to appeal to specific markets. As an historical issue this would make more sense because only someone who knows the ins and outs of a ship COMPLETELY would be able to build the best version of that ship with the most capabilities. The other option being, of course, complete reliance on RNG with no benefit to having developed a skill within that ship itself.

Clearly the survey will provide the largest number in favor of question 1, it is just the result that should be obtained. But I would add more placing the units manufactured from the same boat or the hours of navigation with the type of boat in question could be important factors for the quality of the future products manufactured. In this way some artisans could specialize in a product in question.
