Screeningidea for RvR, Poll

  1. 1. Patrol Zone RoE connected to flipped port same day as PB happens.

  2. 2. RoE in the whole County or in "X"km proximity around the port

    • Circle of Death for all pvp battles in the county
      0
    • Circle of death for all pvp battles in set proximity around port
  3. 3. Circle of death for all parts or just attacker. PB ships are slow anyway.

    • Attacker only has the circle of death, which means the screeners thats tagging HAS to fight the PB fleet, and the pb fleet has the chance to run away leave and enter PB
    • Both parts has circle of death, which means the fight will happen no matter how in that instance.

So the decision to axe the Screening part has been made, and its obviously the community to blame. But what about an other suggestion to fix the problem which from the devs pov is the holding port battle fleets in battle without fighting, tagging and running away aka kiting.

The idea is to bring PZ RoE to the county which has a port battle set that day. In the battle instance the circle of death appears, should it be for both parts, or only for the attacker forcing the attacker to engage before the circle is to small. The idea is that all Port Battle ships are usually really slow ships, so a ship usually built for screening should be more then capable enough to keep up with a port battle ship.

Patrol zone ROE could have been useful in the grand scheme of RvR but Gamelabs didn't connect it to anything. Otherwise screening could have existed in an official manner, but now we can assume there probably won't be any blockade style missions ever, and OW will continue be phased out. Unless they do some weird capture point system, IDK lets see.

Don't think we will ever change admin's mindset about screening. 

What it should be done now is convincing him about the need of alliances among clans from different nations. 

Port battles will turn into a lobby game where the elites will fight. This "new game mode" will destroy the possibilities of survival of weak nations unless they could be assisted with experienced players from other nations, hence the importance of International Clan Alliances working in the War Server.

I agree with @Montagnes here. Devs have decided and you know very well that they won't change their mind anymore. Maybe they will, but not anytime soon for sure.

True, and nothing or almost nothing will be left for the rest of us non-elite captains.

Good. That's how it should be. Otherwise what are the stakes? You lose all but a few given ports and your nation goes into purgatory, not strong enough to recover but too stubborn to die.

What is really depressing is that with the new upgraded ports you can end up with a situation where noone actually need to leave port for anything but trading.

In essence admin could just remove the OW entirely since there's little to no reason to traverse the waters.

As he said once - OW should be just beautiful space for fighting, no more.
But they won't remove it, because it's serving more as a bait for people looking for an Age of Sail game
