Hotfixes for Feb-March

So a few tribunals lead to a change that will burnout those playing rvr.

Cooldowns were critical to counter rvr exhaustion.

I would temporarily disactivate port battles instead until the fix is found.

Could be a good idea to have no port battles until next patch, but we will run the short cooldown first.

Which also means no content for RvR players...

Can you tell us when next patch that should "fix" this issue will be deployed?

- A community poll posted 18 hours ago asks players if the Port Battle Cooldowns should be removed entirely and the outcome is no by a landslide.

If the community is strong and survey is truly showing the feelings of the community perhaps you all can honor the cool downs even if they dont exist?? Otherwise what is the point of the survey if nobody is going to honor it until its completely blocked by rules. ;). The change is perfect to see if you really believe in your survey and will check if your votes will correspond to your actions.

We believe in tit for tat. Its when one nation A is nice to nation B if nation B is nice to nation A. But when nation B acts against nation B (betrays for example) Nation A gives immediate punishment.  Mutually assured destruction.

We believe in our strong community and for some reason strong community only holds developers responsible. Time to hold players and nations who exploit the mechanics responsible. Time to act as a community and show exploiters how it can back fire against them.

I agree to this point. But game mechanics should as well help community not to destroy itself, instead of encouraging self destruction.. How about you take back cooldowns, we pretend nothing happened, and community will keep blaming whoever exploits those mechanics?

You cant punish for allowed mechanics. You can set up a port battle and you can have other priorities on the day of the port battle. You cannot prove its fake even if it was said to be fake. Fake decoy port battles are an allowed mechanics. But - we know people started using them to stop attacks and with front line mechanics it can block RVR completely to a certain direction.

As a result the cool-downs for next attack is no longer 2 days.

this has been a problem since the day you implemented hostility missions for rvr btw

I'd rather have no PBs, then what is about to happen. I still have to work :(.

I doubt this will give more Pb’s then before. The last 4 weeks basicly had been Pb, screening, flipping a port. Only thing this might do is get more Pb’s on the same port. Doubt we will see many more Pb.

Just agree as a community to focus on the nations that used to create artificial cooldowns. Make them pay. We untied your hands. You are now the tribunal

Once you get it out of your system we will have the new ruleset ready. This change is purely done to help you be the judge yourselves.

We are not family, we are not related.

We might live thousands of miles of each other or we might be neighboors and we will never met.

Never RELY on the player behaviour, develop fair mechanics for everyone and the game will keep going.

I agree Nation A and Nation B can choose to co-exist or not now, 100% get that and agree there. But with removing these cooldowns, the powerhouse nations will kill the smaller nations, its only a matter of time. Which in return will make people unhappy or move to those power nations because they had lost everything, making it just a few nations left lol.

My theory is this

  • Players who do not want to exploit will play as normal
  • Players who do exploit will exploit less because they no longer will be able to hide behind cooldowns
  • Players who are destined to lose the ports will lose them faster as they no longer will be able to hide behind cooldowns
  • Players who want slower RVR will attack less
  • If players really want faster RVR we will see it immediately.

Community should not be overreacting to this change, it gives more flexibility and gives tools to punish directly into the hands of nations. Exhaustion is a concern but if we believe in the votes community will not speed up the RVR it will remain slow...

On the other hand speed bumps and limits are there for a reason, and if self control is impossible they will be re-implemented and RVR slowed down next week.

players who want slower RVR will die faster because RVR depend on whom attak them, so they must defend at time attackers decide

Can I suggest:  All nations please stop flipping ports until the solution is found. Sort of a boycott. [RHB] clan this includes your 'training' hostility missions on Puerto Escondido 😉.

Cool-down on attacking and defending port battles temporarily removed!

This won't help, because you still can flip port with alts' clan and have 2 days when noone can attack it (1 day before battle and 1 day after till MT). And large strong powers can wipe smaller ones much faster and they can't do anything about that except multiflipping with 3rd rate DLC waging attrition war, leading to burn out.

People will always try to seek and use exploitable holes, but there is no system with which community can punish them properly (beside not-working tribunal). So without such system even strong community is useless and can't do anything. What you are described here is just politics.

P.S. We serously need another way to do RvR besides Port Battles - Blockades and Commerce Raiding (economic warfare). That can partially solve the problem.

next day they can start hostility
in 1 day the can have a port battle
so 2 days minimum anyway.

It seems like that - you capture port, but next day it has 11.00-8.00 timer, so enemy can easily recapture it before you set your own timer.

So perhaps rather than potentially blowing up the current map and nations losing ports they’ve put significant time into building up and securing.... simply turn off RVR for a week.

The goal is to give clans a chance to punish those who were hiding behind fake cooldowns. This is not a permanent change. The change in RVR port battle set up will be in coding next week.

As I said two posts before - that won't help, jut will make thing not so easily done.

Hope you have already framework for that new system and this "temporary" solution won't last for next months or even half a year.

Wanna make things fun during self isolation 2020? Outlaw battles and drop RoE from regular fights so everyone who wants to...can have PvP chaos for a little while.

Forcing folks who are home, possibly worried about the shit storm in real life, shouldn’t have to be worried about their in-game lives as well.

In the words of Spike Lee.  Do the right thing.

And also some of us still have to work.  We don’t have the option to be home all day flipping ports like some might have.

And how many ports will be lost in that time?  Remember not every one is in lock down and even most of those have to deal with kids or still do work from home.  I got a felling this patch is going to run more players away or even kill a nation or two.

Posted (edited)

in a balanced situation between all the faction, that solution could work.

Actually the stronger will prevails over the weaker.

Weird decision was better to keep  the old cound down sisyem till you dont have ready the new one

We dont have tools for that , is more an admin duty since we are all under the friend/Port Bonus law
