target switching

hey guys,

been driving me scatty for a while now. the game seems to switch targets at its own accord, even though the ship I was targeting is still in range of my guns. why does it do this? I want to decide what ship to target! example, today im targeting a BB, then for no reason at all it decides to switch to another ship. ofc this resets your aiming and you have to range find the new target. at first I thought it was me accidently clicking on a new ship, but I now know its not me. how can this be stopped??

It is really annoying mechanics indeed. Hope they'll change that soon.

I see that happening all the time. Very annoying because you loose your aiming bonus when that happens.

I noticed that myself...had a ship on the ropes and then targeting shifted with no input from me.  This should be addressed.

To be fair, sometimes it could be right. I once had it shift from a fleeing battlecruiser to its escorting destroyers. I quickly reversed the decision. A few minutes later, not seeing much progress on the battlecruiser, I selected the destroyers for destruction. They were very efficiently obliterated and now I don't have to worry about their torpedoes. Maybe the computer knew better after all

ive decided to re-bump this post as the target switch cost me a battle win today. I`LL decide what target to hit, not some A.I. seriously devs this needs addressing fast, its a pain in the A**,frustrating and totally uneeded! especially when u don't notice its happened like I did today.
