NPC raid at monday morning - outside weekend window.

Recommended Posts

We have a Caracas npc raid scheduled on friday evening for monday morning (4.50 am Server Time). Its 3 days ahead and outside weekend window that developers put in their info. There is no way we can defend port on working day at those hours. We are not complaining about PB time, we could set timer (we were supposed to do this on friday evening for saturday maintaince, and devs told us earlier that NPC raids will start at weekend), but battle is outside weekend window and that is my main complain and a bug report. Reshedule it for weekend and we will be more than happy to take part in defence.

Because its a world wide war server it takes account time-zones across the world.  It's still some timezones for United states and pacitic time for example.
Server weekend ends at maintenance time. Raiders attack at random time but always within a timer set by defenders.

Did you by any chance forget to set the timer on this port? The one that lets you have a time of the battle on your terms?

250k per day for a timer to cover every possible port is a bit much. It'll just end up being an irritation rather than fun.

Perhaps time to lower the cost now that we're having to pay for more timers?

NPCs raid ports that are top ports of the nation. Dutch just didnt wanted to pay a timer for a port that players cant attack - it looks like.

Pls read what i wrote before making salty comments. Its about weekend time frames, not timer or PB hours.

The port makes money so it could have a timer. Therefore the battle could have been forced to a more fitting timewindow instead of being late/early for EU players (which is primetime for US East etc). @Jan BellaqThe comment wasnt salty in any way. 250k isnt much when you look at the tax some ports generate. @qw569 has nice charts about port revenue. For example Vera cruz making 5kk so a timer of 250k is actual nothing compared to the revenue.

Yes, the weekend is most likely starting in Saturday MT and ends in Monday MT (we receive rewards for the weekly challenges after that), but to have NPC Raid in Saturday (just like PB), you have to set up it a day earlier, in Friday (so defender will have time to prepare).

The problem here is that all NPC raids for weekend were set up in Friday, not the day earlier than they should be (in Saturday in case of Caracas) - and that possibly should be corrected or explained properly.

nations controlling huge chunks of land need to pay for their port timers. This whole thread stems from somebody who refuses to pay for their port timer. He then gets attacked at a very inconvenient hour. Big nations need to pay their fare share of taxes, sorry Dutch Trump!

Dutch didn't put a timer because the front lines system makes that port unflippable by players.  AI port battles being able to bypass the front lines system is frankly absurd and I feel like the only reason it was done that way was because it was easier to code.

At the very least AI PBs should ONLY trigger on Sat/Sun so the bulk of the server can be there to experience them.  That is the point of these battles right?  Content creation.  5am on a monday does not accomplish this.

The only folks that seem to be in favor of these battles are either on the PVE server or conveniently situated in nations that don't have the privilege of experiencing (suffering) them.

I mean...these raids don't even drop the loot chests things yet.  That's upcoming apparently.  What a joke.

We pay ;) , when you see on map port with 500k tax its not that netto. If you have 500k tax you get netto 250k maybe. But thats not the matter i posted. We could fight 5 am battle at sunday on weekend not on working day when everybody at this time prepares to work.

What they should do is have sub port tax's go to the capital port as if they are paying the Governor/Region authority.  Than that would give reason why the capitals have port timers and they pay towards the kings/queens of nations.  Could even have it that the sub ports have to pay the Capital even if owned by another nation. Give reason for  folks to take the Capital but not the sub ports or reason to kick the other nation out of the capital port.

I would still like to get an aswer as to why Caracas was attacked in the first place other than this rule:

That was announced AFTER NPC raid was set:

As said bfore:

Caracas 3 2 3 4 4 PRIV (Verenigde Provinciën)
Maracaibo 3 1 3 4 4 CABAL (Verenigde Provinciën)

Tax rate

Caracas 173959 69583 104376
Maracaibo 796698 318679 478019

Both ports are 49/50 points (literally the points you use to develop a port so the're the same in that regard) and tax diffrence is quite big I would say.

Edit: How do you make "Reveal hidden conttents" label?

It states 3 of the top team, didn't say top 3.  Maybe Caracas is at the bottom of that list of ports?   Would be better if we had a list of the top ten ports making money and nation owned?

we see that people spared the money for the timer and now cry - this is your problem, you have to solve it, or lose the city .... maybe we will seize it ...

I migth have misunderstood the second point of Preperatoin part in that post (it was lastest info we got in that time):

Captains

NPC have gathered all pain they experienced since launch and decided to fight back.
Here is some information on the NPC port battle raids that will help you prepare so you dont lose ports on first events.

War Server

Preparation

  1. Raiders will only attack on weekends
  2. Raiders will only attack most developed ports of top 3 nations (mix of investments and tax rate)
    1. There will be 3 NPC port attacks over weekend (1 per top nation
  3. Raiders will ignore all other nations
  4. Raiders will only attack within the timer (if no timer is present they will attack at random time)
  5. Raiders will announce their intention with the server message (like port battles) the day before
  6. Raider attacks will be indicated on map tool in port battle list
  7. Raiders will always pick the proper wind for attack
  8. Raiders know how to fit the ships and will be very combat worthy
  9. If raiders win the battle port becomes neutral.

As most developed ports means in fact multiple of one. I just wrongly assumed it would be only the top one and even if not it would be the first to recive the beating . But by the same post, ad. 5, Friday hosti should not stand.

Likewise i would like to know the ports that are in range of attack (love to play the guessing game, aren't we?) and why they were choosen. Was Caracas pick by random, or by the lack of timer? Is Les Cayes endangered by tax, or Cumana steals the show as fully developed port?

Correct me  if i'm wrong, but by the current rules it goes like that?

Quote

War Server

  • Raiders will attack 3 of the 10 richest ports

  1. You get top 3 nations by leaderboard
  2. You take in order 10 richest (tax) ports from the 3 nations, but no less than 1 per nation (let's say  it would be 6 from nation A, 2 from nation B and 2 form nation C)
  3. You got a poll of ports from nation A, B and C, and choose one randomly
