No. Just we can do hostilitiy missions at same time ... Because we need two mechanisms to take a port (hostility and port battle)

This is not a solution. Most populated factions Pvp players will kill players fleets and let pve players kill pve fleets... You always will be the easy target.

I don't understand what you are talking about. Whats up with Vera Cruz? Why did you decide that its all about you and your clan? NPC aggression was promised long ago and will happen. I got sick and

Maybe the 1th time a raid happen people will be curious and defend, after that they wont and will be annoyed by it happening agaim, after a while there will be only a few defenders and the port will get taken, then everyone will say f#ck this and leave the game..it will be fun once, but after that it will be annoying, people wont be bothered to defend and when the port get taken it will lead to people leaving the game..

Why so drastic again? Why not start with 10 5th rates attacking everything near te port? Let them carry good rewards for example.

Why 20 buffed lineships?..why a huge chance at the port being taken by AI..people want content, not a crafting port taken by AI and loosing everything, people will quit because of this..

Just make fun raids from small ships to larger squadrons attacking random ports, make it defendable for smaller player numbers..now we just have a portbattle against cheating AI...

With a sad try of a convoy in there with the indiamans thrown in..

Just have the indiaman fleet with escort pop up some times in OW routes, and sqUadrons of different rates ship attacking ships round a port, boom, 2 simple methods of content without huge influx of people.leaving the game when a crafting port gets capped

How many raids will take place at any one time @admin? Is there a limit?

3 top ports of 3 top nations, from opening post.

So guess it is 9 attacks per cycle.

Disregard strikeout info. Is not correct.

We can expect many useless ports to be abandoned and turned neutral within the first server maintenance ^^

No STOP!

Please, I want Sweden to stay at the bottom 3 boys - I don't want to fight PvE PBs :P;)

Can we get a confirmation from france that we will work together to insure no PvE PBs? lol

yikes.

the entire server doesn't have the means to "maintain" that level of "NPC tax" lol,

I would hope it's only 3 ports "per week" in total.

No mention of three ports here. Also wasn't the cap rasied to five ports?

Thanks. Eyes crossed and was reading 3 everywhere. Sorry for misinformation.

For weeks and months, it is required to balance the imbalance between large and small nations. The players obviously are not able to do this on their own initiative and now the devs are introducing a new mechanism that could do just that. and although no one knows exactly what's going on, shitsorm goes off as ordered. i would prefer if the players would balance out of their own power imbalances, but right now you can watch the game slowly getting emptier or try something out.
If Russians, British and Dutch want to get out of this mechanic, then I think will be poland, prussia, french, sweden, ect. take one or the other 55 points harbor.

Captains

NPC have gathered all pain they experienced since launch and decided to fight back.
Here is some information on the NPC port battle raids that will help you prepare so you dont lose ports on first events.

War Server

Preparation

  1. Raiders will only attack on weekends
  2. Raiders will only attack most developed ports of top 3 nations (mix of investments and tax rate)
  3. Raiders will ignore all other nations
  4. Raiders will only attack within the timer (if no timer is present they will attack at random time)
  5. Raiders will announce their intention with the server message (like port battles) the day before
  6. Raider attacks will be indicated on map tool in port battle list
  7. Raiders will always pick the proper wind for attack
  8. Raiders know how to fit the ships and will be very combat worthy
  9. If raiders win the battle port becomes neutral.

Battle

  1. Raider fleet usually will consist of 16-20 Lineships(escort) and 4-6 indiaman (transports) and will split into 2 groups attacking from 2 directions
  2. To win the battle raiders will need to gain 1000 points
  3. Raiders get the points by controlling the control points AND by reaching the control points
  4. Transports get A LOT of points for reaching the circle - currently 250-300
  5. Escort get some points for reaching the circle - currently 25-50
  6. All Raiders also get standard points for staying in the circle
  7. Raiders will not fire at forts
  8. Points cannot go down but you can slow down the point generation or avoid it by stopping the ships trying to reach the control points
  9. Optimal strategy in internal testing was found to be the following
    1. Destroy Indiamans as soon as possible and slow down the escorts later destroying them with focus fire one by one
    2. Create two groups (and maybe one in reserve) as if one raider group reaches the control zone intact they will win the raid
    3. Main Groups should prefer to join the raid far at sea (far from pier) because if groups join from pier they sometimes will NOT have enough time to stop the raiders from reaching the control points
      1. having said that joining from pier is also possible but not in all scenarios (depend on port)
    4. Reserve group can join from pier and provide support at danger points.
    5. Joining far at sea has risks of its own because of potential enemy screens

Defending the raids could become an interesting logistical and organizational task if enemy is present (meta)

Meta gameplay

  1. Smaller nations (especially acting together) can completely stop defenders from joining the raid by screening forcing them to lose invested ports (david vs goliaf scenarios)
  2. Smaller nations can attack other ports during the raid times and take them undefended

For Peace Server

  1. Raiders will attack random ports turning them neutral
  2. Hostility will be enabled for neutral ports so clans can capture the ports for themselves
  3. Raiders will also attack developed ports from time to time
  4. This will achieve the following amazing outcome for the Peace server
    1. Both PVE port defense and attacks become possible
    2. Port investments become possible (including port bonuses)
    3. Port clan control and taxation becomes possible

Then, humans and bots could attack same port at same time???

If 3 top faction are defending his own Ports from bots, they can't attack anything at that times....

the most hilarious thing to come from this is the thought that all nations will now try their hardest to "not" be the 3 top nations that the NPCs target :P.

You are all such professional PvP heroes, I am sure you don`t suffer so much from some NPC facing you.

You have not been successful to contain that oversized Russian expansion, so allow professional NPC to do your job instead. :)

Watch closely, PvP heroes, maybe you will learn something from them... lol

One thing is true. They don't run from a fight. Any fight. Even if equal.

Sounds like a lot happened since 5 years ago in AI development; you should revisit NPC fights because "turning in circles" isn't all you will see.

In addition they learned how to sit in the wind and reverse back and forth.
