Befriending "Enemy Players" on PvE

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Don't know if this has been asked before, but it seems we can't befriend people from enemy nations on PvE.
I get that we don't want that on PvP, but why not on PvE. Why not show the enemy names.

The term enemy doesn't realy mean allot on PvE we all there for some good times, not to be toxic vs eachother.

This might have been asked before, so I apoligise in advance.

Greetings,

Spud.

We should all (pvp and pve) have at least the possibility to chat with enemy players outside the battle instance. Best would be to see their names in OW.

Even if they play in an enemy nation, some are good friends.

To befriend, to know who it is - all this could be preconditions for things which are anyway advisable or even urgent for PvE server: the need to team up for NPC port battles coming. Smaller nations and smaller clans won't be able to mobilize enough human fighters for PB, if there is no international teaming up.

Admin and Devs,

On the PVE server we really need to be able to talk to one another. Please get rid of the Enemy Player and show the names. The only Enemy on the Peace server is the AI.

Thanks and fair sailing.

Agreed; there is no good reason to hide enemy names on the PvE server.  Please allow us to see who is sailing.

The PVP and PvE servers need better communication.

We should allow all players to communicate with each other.  Perhaps we could hail an enemy player (like the Group, or Friend feature) and if the enemy chooses not to chat he can refuse the request.  Or block all requests if he hates chatting to foreigners.  Or block requests from specific players that have hailed repeatedly.    But for all of us who like the social aspect of the game we can talk, and and display our names, to each other - after the hail is accepted.  There are some fine people playing this game and it is shame to isolate everyone because a few players wish to be annonomous.

At the same time fix "Ignore" so it works in battle, and all chats.

We always used to be able to do this, talk to eachother, see eachothers names, befriend eachother in PvP and PvE.

I always considered the age of sail battles to be somewhat gentlemen like, with some respect between enemies and some unwritten rules in regards to SoL firing at frigates etc. I think the French even refused to use exploding cannonballs as it was unfair for the enemy crew. Obiously allot of players aren't very gentlemen like, but allot of them are.

Now there is no way in PvP to barter with you enemies in OW, or to see a trade ship you would let go if you knew it was a low rank but chase if it was high rank. I found the game allot more amusing with all chat  en visible player names. The ocasional o7 to an enemy is entirely impossible. There is a feature to turn enemy chat off i believe, so why not bring it all back.

For sure in PvE, we all talk in Global anyway.
