War Declaration - an easy RVR - GnG solution

Recommended Posts

There needs to be some mechanic to address intra-nation port ownership, if for no other reasons than clans that have become inactive. If a new clan is rising up, and wants access to, say, Sabicu (God knows why) but the Sabicu port owning clan no longer has any diplomats playing, the new clan is up a certain creek without a paddle.

Arguments can also be made for clans trying to hold resources hostage, not cooperating with the nation by holding the port open, or alt account shenanigans.

The issue also with what Hethwill suggested with requiring an equal port is what if the clan that wants to take the port either does not have a equal value one or has no port at all?

What about a mechanic that permits a port to be switched in the same fashion that items are traded? (though this should only happen between clan leaders)

In regards to port owners who decide to take action against the nation they are part of (opening a port, removing clans from the access list, etc) if the port can not be taken due to the above reasons, how about allowing a clan to put up money to blockade a port. Until that amount is paid by the port owner no purchases or selling can take place at that port. It may need to be a 10 to 1 ratio in order to prevent large clans from choking small clans to death. Granted, friendly clans to the port owner could make donations to help pay off the blockade.

could slightly change it another way so that instead of having exact port point types, you could expand it to 1 above and below.

So if a clan in a nation wants to fight another clan within the same nation for whatever reason, they need a port that is "similar" to the target.

if they want a 45 point port, they must own a 55, 45, or 35 point port.

if they want a 25 point port, they must own a 35, 25, or 15 point port.

This still keeps the limitation to what Hethwill was worried about, while allowing for more opportunities.

Further on this, they could have diplomatic discussions with neighboring nations to temporarily take a port in order to conduct a "civil war." But that up to the players involved.

Are you all blind or what, the game population has dropped by half over the past month, i would guess mostly due to people putting effot into the game only to get screwed over and essntially lose their effort due to some clans in their nation having problems with others, all effort gone becasue some cant keep their ego in check? You cant even keep a nation unified against any enemy and you want to now discuss how to further make it easier to attack each other from within,? You want me to grind another 100's of hours to move all industry because another clan in my nation took a port form another being able to kick me from access to shipbuilding, at some point people just say screw it not worth the effort to continue to play.Queue the not hardcore enough comments.

Why dont you just get rid of nations and make the game clan based, if you are keeping nations, make it that each resource benfit whatever at a port is available to anyone in the nation- you can put a tax fee or one time pay in fee for those benefits which go to the clan which owns the port. Everyone has access to the resource, the clan that owns the resource still profits off of this, reduced infighting and actual unity to fight as a nation.

A situation where a  clan comes into nation and does PVE for 2 months suddenely decides they want to participate in RvR and takes it upon themselves to destroy any other clan amd remove them from the nation or game that they dont like or cant get along with, causes such a divide that now each other nation just eats up ports because noone can be bothered to work together and defend is ridiculous, guess what thats 40-60 people that no longer have an interest in playing. Again look at the player numbers, and the notion of we dont care if people leave the game or the nation or whatever is not a sustainable position, there simply wont be a game and you will be back to sub 300 on the server.
