This is the second tribunal this week on this exact issue from this exact same clan. The silence from ADMIN is basically permission to continue doing it.

Easy fix, convert Pirates to having the same limited abilities as other nations.

"Solution" everyone in any battle turn your guns on any member of WTF clan as soon as they join any battle, no matter which side they join (?) 
I mean if this makes them pirates... Pretty sure all of us civilized nations would in reality turn our guns on them on sight and after they are dealt with, get back to our own affairs.

I kinda like it as something mildly unique to pirates....but yea the same clan should be locked to the same sides in a battle.

The really messed up part about this is that when diplomacy was active, Pirates constantly wanted to be like a nation (to get diplomacy but still retain their ability to attack pirates). Now we see more occurrences of this freely joining either side in order to increase the BR of a particular side so that they can target and eliminate a specific person involved in the battle. 

REMOVE the pirates ability to attack other pirates and resolve the pirates into a single nation. NO one side should have an ability that is not available to other sides without some balancing factor. Being able to freely attack ANY target is not both a boon and curse. Remove it or limit pirates to 5th rates.

well even a 5 rate is to much

ever seen a pirates in  indefatigable or trincomalee  lol

brigs are the only ships they sailed and a occasional big ship ...

(but to historical for defs)

but anyway it s beginning to be a problem for sure.

Pirates should be eradicated from this game unless they are provided with some serious mechanic changes.   Honestly, pirates were basically a non-issue by the time of our game period.  

And before you say remove ahistorical nations....

Sure. Switch impossible nations to “allied” flagged main nations. (I.e. Portuguese flag for Britain....) 

As of right now, “pirates” is just an excuse to act like a shit-bag human and grief other players.   (Although I must admit I am amused by people like Hartz’s warehouse raiding shenanigans).

The only serious solution to this is to delete the pirate nation and force-move them to poland.

If you are going that route, remove the impossible nations as well. The game has too many nations to support the current player base or if you REALLY want to get wild, remove nations entirely and go to a game that is just clan vs clan. Guild wars of the Sea.

Its the same as outlaw battles. People need to abuse the shit out of it (preferably against the offending clan) until it gets removed.

Well the only group that can go after WTF and "instruct" them to change their ways are the other pirate clans. Will they is the question.

It is either that or the other pirates not come to the aid of WTF should the other nations focus their efforts on eliminating any and all resources they own and other pirate clans removing them from their friends list.

does someone need to mention again that the game only needs 5 nations (GB, Spanish, French, Dutch and US) and being a pirate is just a Status of a player with outlaw mechanic?

Game is set in the period from 1700 to 1800 us got declaration in 1770's. They had their famous 4th rate frigates, but was a precense in the caribbean at the time. Atleast FAR more then the ru, de, pl, DK and swe

The US only had a very small navy (in the state-navy sense, paid for by congress) but a rather large privateer fleet when at war. It also had the single largest merchant fleet in the world fairly quickly after independence, and trading with the caribbean ports was one of their staples.

If y'all going to make an argument about nation admittance to the game by navy size, it could bring up a few surprises ;)
It may turn out that the Russia hate train club needs to swallow the fact that the Russians had a far larger navy than Spain, and nobody would realistically argue that Spain isn't a player in 18th century caribbean terms since they owned the place.. practically all of it.

According to the most recent Tribunal response from Ink: You can only shoot those on your side IF they have fired upon you first, called Green on Green. Those two pirates have no obligation to fire upon each other, but they cannot fire upon anyone on their own side.

This is actually incorrect. There have been quite a few tribunals submitted for joining a battle with no intention of fighting the opposing side. This includes their own clan member. There has also been situations where 2 clan members will join different sides and wait until one non pirate is eliminated and then aid the enemy in sinking the other non pirate. If a pirate joins one side, it should lock them out of joining the other side, i.e. remove the outlaw battles entirely as the mechanic does not work and thus far has been abused. Why should one group (Pirate) be permitted an ability that is not shared by all other players or does not have some balancing mechanic. This is something that should never have been implemented and the pirates should have just been one group.

Also in regards to joining a fight and not engaging all enemy combatants, if it is unacceptable for a lone vessel engaging a hostile force to 'delay' them then the same could be said for pirates that join one side for the sole purpose of raising the BR.
