Game looks Amazing , Serious Suggestion.

Recommended Posts

I am interested in buying the game and was browsing the forums , me and my friends are looking for a realistic experience of this type , watched lots of  game videos and read about it ,the game is amazing and its buildt on a good idea representing a fascinating era in history , iv seen that my suggestion has been put foward already in the past and i read about the arguments in favour and against of it but i know it would make more of my friends interested in the game ( we are Mediterranean ) so decided to put it out again . actually the argument put foward against it is that people dont want more factions because they would divide the fan base further more , but is that more important than bringing more people into the game by making it more open and interesting for them ? more people = even more people , friends bring friends.

Apart from being one of the handful European entities that had Caribbean possesions  (the islands of Saint Christopher , Saint Martin , Saint Barthelemy and Saint Croix  ) the Order of the Knights of Malta has a Naval History. Along side the Maltese native people  who were able sailors and corsairs the knights of Malta took part in pivital naval historical battles including fighting alongside the Venetians against the Ottomans , Supporting the Spaniards in the Conquest of Tunis and being part of the Holy League in the Battle of Lepanto among other naval clashes often involving Ottomans , Algerians and Barbary Pirates. The Order s Navy was a respectful and successful one ,  owned Galleons ( referred to as Vascelli ) , Frigates , Xebecs , Carracks , Galleys of several sizes and later during the 18th century had a few Ships of Line . Actually in the Order s ranks there were knights of English , French , Italian , Spanish , Portuguese and German Languages and during the Great Siege of Malta in 1565 Sicilian and Greek soldiers fought beside the Order to defend the island from the Ottomans so yes inculding the Knights of Malta  could ignite more interest and be a home in game for a host of Mediterranean people including the Maltese , Italians , Portuguese , Greeks , Cypriots and everyone who would like to sail under the Order s flag and the iconic eight pointed Maltese Cross. I would love for this to be considered . the perfect scenario would be of having all factions that in real history had islands in the caribbean , among these the Kinights of Malta and further south in Brazil in a way that would include Portugal . and maybe .... maybe .. further down the line having the map strech to Europe in a way it could include the Venetians and Ottomans . In any case the inclusion of the Knights of Malta and Portugal seems easier in the present Caribbean setting and would add to the game and not take away from it , congrats for the game and hope you consider such suggestions , the sense of belonging when it comes to History shouldnt be understimated even in games.

Flamma Torchina ,  a plain blue hanging triangular pennant of ratio estimated 1:2. ,  not a lof of information on this one but according to source: “Al Caleese di Maestro” or “All’ Asta dello’ Stendardo” or “All’ Andriuello” it was a  signal pennant for the use of the galley squadron“,

Since the Order's presence in the Caribbean was under the sovereignty of the King of France, make a suggestion in the Flags thread to add some of the Maltese flags to the French Nation.

Otherwise we are all waiting for Naval Action 2 which is going to take place in the Mediterranean including all of the nations you mentioned, which would be awesome ...

Naval Action 2 Is that realistic ? i mean this game has been officially released recently ,  you think the devs are already planning a Naval Action 2 ? i dont know , could be but its easier and more tangable to think that they would add the European Theatre as a mega update to this Naval Action rather than wait for a sequel . i will take your advice and put the info up here in the flags section , maybe the Maltese flags can become available under the French or Spanish Navies  until maybe one day having their own faction, The Knights of Malta had very close relationships with both France and Spain at some point , As you correctly mentioned the Knights of Malta s Caribbean possesions came with the benefits of having links to French aristocracy, back in the Mediterranean the Knights fought several battles side by side with the Spaniards. I still think Portugal and Malta deserve a place in a game like this but at this point in time Portuguese Flags should be under Spanish Navy and Maltese Flags under the French.  what do you think about this ?

Rather than NA2 I'd suggest future overhauls to the engine (like it already happened) to support future graphics features and a lot more future DLCs (ships, maps - mediterranean, north/east seas with local powers, etc.)

I think currently the game is close to perfect.

That is most plausible in my opinion.

NA hasn't the engine or design for a proper MMO.
