Alts exploiting frontline system again

Recommended Posts

So, here we are.
Launched. With the system everybody knew was broken and not really working.

Down south on the map, there is a KURUC clan who ended up having 3 Dutch ports.
Quite quickly it was found out, that they were just a clan of either Russian alts or puppets, who opened the ports for Russians having easier access to hunt on Dutch waters.

And I wouldn't mind it, if there would be ANY way to fix it now. But due to frontlines system, we can't strike a deal with different nation (or use our own alts) to fix that problem.

If same problem emerge again, for any other reason - how the nation can solve problems like this with Frontline system?

When will we get some fixes to this again broken system?
There were quite a few nice ideas already. None of them reached the "launched" game.

It is trash. This isnt the first instance of alt clans being used to set up bases in a nation's waters. (VCO and the magic clan.)

The only mechanism to contest this is to get a 3rd party nation to flip the ports away from the alt clan so that they can be eventually flipped back to legitimate clans.

If it would be that easy.

Due to Frontline system, none of those ports can be attacked at the moment.

Thats not a frontline problem.  You can do it also without frontline system.  Thats an alt problem

If not the Frontline system, we could pay other nation to capture it.

But noone can attack any of those ports - because of Frontlines.

Many reason to put a port neutral , but a good solution would be if a clan makes a port Neutral then the daily maintenance goes up X %.

Set up a blockade of those ports and prevent them from exiting there?

U can take missions on the region from the closest free town. That's Guyaguyaya. Try to be more on point when it comes to the mechanics, if u haven't payed someone for flipping the port, then it's more likely that you're just too poor to do so.. #getthatpleboutofhere!

How about if those ports are not County Capital, smartass?

@admin pb's inside a nation needed

This right here is what is needed. Give players the ability to police themselves and combat the alt-menace.
The sandbox requires it.

God can you imagine a russian civil war between BF and Reds over Vera Cruz? That would be so much awesome content.

Except that particular port is not open to all and MAGIC is assisting the nation.  #fakenews

Easiest fix of all - remove possibility of Open to All status from port ownership options.

You are fake news. It was taken to prevent an allied nation from moving in which would threaten VCO's holdings an Ismoralda. Keeping it not freeported IS the goal.

An allied nation that doesn't exist anymore and would only be able to access the port if made open to all - thus making the US coastline less secure.  MAGIC's priority first and foremost is US security, not convenient hunting spots for the rest of the game.  A neutral or open to all port is not in the interest of the US.

Not a terrible idea - I'd like a "selective" available to all where you can allow only certain nations.  Ideally only allowing certain clans access would be best, but improbable.

Solomon's Law works best in this case. There's no room for oddities. Take port for nation, port is for nation AND ruled by that clan.

The concept of “Nations” in this game is simply broken. They should be nothing more than colors on a map with full, clan-based granularity to what constitutes “friendly” or allied vs. “enemy.”
