@admin pandora and pirate lgv refit are some good examples that mixed gun deck behaviors still need fixing (because of 2pd swivels) regarding gunnery they almost behave like meds, but just almost.

When disableing a deck via F1 (+ F2, F3....) the other decks (when all the same gun type) shouldnt be influrenced by its aiming anymore. Aiming should behave like this disabled deck was never there.

Prince is an other example when carronades are used on deck 2 (even disabled) and grape is loaded into deck1 (with long guns) it feels like grape is rolling slowly out of the gun barrels. In order to hit a target at the same hight (gunport hight of prince) at 20m distance its necessary to aim the gun into the sky.

Has anyone tried to sail the Pandora without swivel guns (empty slot) ? The gunnery aiming seems more like the one we're used to. 

Tried once with carro.

What do you mean by low DPS ? Her broadside weight is about that of La Renommée...much better than the Cerberus.

Her armour is better than the Hercules.

I don't know about the mast but everything else about her seems ok. IMO, she's in her proper place among the shallow frigates and, more broadly, among the 9-pdr ships (LRQ, Niagara, shallow frigates). No need of a buff.

Nice boat. Thanks. Feels very under gunned with 9 pounders. So the "5th rate" label feels misleading. But that may because of the AI "Buff". 32 Lb carros may be the way to go.

The Pandora is a great ship for open world hunting... she will be good for preying on traders and is fast enough to do some scout work. Excellent and useful little ship in my opinion. She reminds me a lot of a Surprise... perhaps with the maneuvering between a Cerberus and a Surprise. This is a good idea...plus they need to be able to aim lower. They don't seem to be in line with other decks.

Yes, boarding any ship of equal size I have landed only 2 hits multiple times when using brackets to fire. I have to wait for a wave to land more, and still the middle deck always misses.

The Pandora is very nice to look at.  That much I can say for certain right now.

I haven't seen enough combat to be sure but so far it doesn't feel as overpowered for a dlc like the Req or Herc.  That's a good thing if it holds true.  It definitely does not need a buff in any way.

My concerns about all dlc ships remain.  I still feel that they need some kind of basic nerf to restore the in-game economics.  Something like reducing the knowledge slots available for them or one of the many other ideas.

I agree with other posts about the swivels - ran an all medium set up and also found the swivels cause all decks to fire high. Even turning them off it seemed the other decks still fired high. 

@van der DeckenRunning with mediums and no mods poses a problem though. Landed 49 mast hit on an LGV and nothing fell b/c no pens. Even using charge and some within 100m. Also found the ship is not a brawler T/WO/Very sturdy and melting from LGV broadsides. Gonna switch to longs/carros/no swivels and see what happens to the firing arc. 

Great looking model.

I believe the shooting has to be modified. Atm she behaves completely different than all other ship models, even with swivels unequipped.

I've started testing the Pandora - LUVVERLY little ship, I must say! :)

Excellent turn, speed and accelleration; to be expected for a ship its class.

I find it similar in many ways to a Surp; it would hold a similar role.

I made a video of an engagement near Nassau against a Privateer - tiny little thing; good for target practice.

As others have noted, the top-deck swivels do aim high, and draw the other guns with them. I'm just not sure it's a major issue - as I say in the video (I narrated this one lol) it seems less of a bug and more of a condition of those specific guns. In short, they'll take practice to learn but I'm happy with them.

Here's the video: Not the best fight of mine by a longshot; but excellent practice and good experience.

I don't understand why the main gun deck isn't always given priority in both of the aiming indicators?  I reallly hate using ships that have partial upper decks where you have to keep wasting critical moments turning the upper decks off/on to see the indicators for the far more important lower/main gun deck.

The Pandora fire high because you are leaving the 2 pound swivels active, gotta deactivate them... then she shoots as fine as the Surprise.

Have to be picky with when to engage that 2 pound swivel gun deck, it throws aiming off a bit otherwise. Especially in regards to mediums or longs.

Please see my post above... also remember … that while moving through a turn and if moving the guns, at the same time, accuracy is hurt... musts steady before releasing broadsides...depending on how the fight is going and how close range the fight is… this becomes  a bit less important, mast sniping is key to many victories in PVP as well, and can be applied any where if the Commander is patient enough for a long game.

Good video, reflects the game well. I hope you do more videos later as some newer players will find these videos helpful. And as far as narrating goes... yer just fine mate.

P.S. I have been waiting for the HMS Pandora to come available... the developers have not disappointed on delivery, very good little ship and in the right hands is capable of taking on any 5th rate. Her masts are fragile... so I would recommend a mast refit that bolsters thickness and hit points if intending PVP. Teak/Teak plus speed mods and maneuvering enhancers and … behold the beast!

I haven't fought in small ships for a dog's age, I'm used to the more sedate pacing and timing of Capital ships and it shows. :) 

I doubt I would ever take Pandora into PvP; it's simply not 'ma thang' - though I'm positively bristling at the chance to unleash Rattvisan on the War Server this weekend LOL.

I'm going to continue testing and opening book-slots on the lass; I'm fairly confident that with sufficient knowledge and RL experience, the pretty beastie will be able to duel an Indef - I'm placing that as the upper limit at the moment until I truly learn its abilities.

I'm glad you liked the video; I'm going to work with the suggestions offered to my post in the Guides forum to produce much better, slicker videos - I hope at least.

Possible, but if @DeRuyter was precise enough to record mast hits, saying he 'did demasting wrong' is both premature and unhelpful. We've seen that Pandora has a fairly unique gunnery profile; I would prefer to see solid data and accurate information before making judgements.
