Revisit DLC ships in lieu of Pandora DLC announcement

That's the thing, I actually am totally fine with a wipe. But it should never have been guaranteed that people would keep their xp and that part of the progression post-release.  People literally purchased the game under that assumption and it turned out to be untrue.  I feel for them.

Same here, I actually supported and even argued for full wipe. But the fact we were told it wasn't happening is what caused the problem. It's not just for myself but a lot of friends that play don't want to redo what they already did and want to quit. A lot of the fun of the game is having your friends playing with you.

On topic
I would think since the ships cost a lot of money to design and create for the game they don't want to waste the chance to make money from it. Might also be a good time to ask what even will happen with the Christian?

Y'all remember when premium ships were just going to be blueprints that allow you to craft a ship?

Pepperidge farm remembers :C

I find it amusing that someone that is so against the DLC model buys it. But I guess I am just cheaper than you or what was your argument against me?

Against DLC model or against DLC ships in PBs?  There is also creating an imbalance in game and there for "encouraging" players to purchase DLCs?  One could be against both of these and yet still support, or attempt to support, development of a game.  I know concepts that aren't black or white are difficult for the likes of Hachi, but sometimes opinions can be complex.

Let's make it simple for you.

DLCs creating P2W ships that adversely alter RVR or the OW.  Bad
DLCs creating harmless cosmetic content.  Good.

Use actual logic rather than smart arse answers ;)

Are the Tutorial rewards going to be reset so we can do them (sigh) yet again?

Yes.

That was the only DLC I was upset about and purchased it under the influence of others and alcohol. For a cosmetic item it was a bit too much. Only way I can see myself as a Swedish player getting a satisfactory return is if they patch in additional flags and build upon that DLC rather than creating a completely new Flag DLC.

It's already been bombed.

It is too bad that people that want many players on the server are in fact sabotaging the game with bad reviews at an important moment. I am convinced that we do not know for such what the final game will look like and we also forget that we have our responsabilities in the game to succed by our ingame behaviors. People are criticizing the use of dlc ships, but the same are using them to attack newbies all day long on a constant basis. One option would be to remove to the ancien players the possibility to do the tuto at least during the first month or so. Then new players would have time to learn the basic before to be ganked by more experienced players.

Ships will be wiped. Crafting XP will be wiped.

Seems like a perfect time to start making most ships DLC. Do something to get rid of most of the long term players except for those so supportive they’ll accept anything plus get new money from new players who won’t have known the game in the past. Gradually get all to accept that the vast majority of ships must be purchased.

Note: I don’t actually know what is happening with this game in the future but apparently some things we used to accept as true, no longer are.

You should inform yourself better before you buy something. Is it expensive? Sure but it has no impact in battles and economy. I don't care if they charge 100 euro for a single flag as long as the game is not hurt by it.

Why? You buy it or you’re not competitive... what’s hard to understand about that?

True, It is to difficult for my tiny mind to comprehend how people support things with their money and then cry on the forums to a dev that according to them does not  listen to complaints. God you must be on of the stupidest individuals on these forums.

Aww, it’s not hard to understand but every once in a while you need to close your mouth and breathe through your nose and really concentrate:

This niche, timesuck, grindy, and deeply flawed game is one of a kind... and it suffers from dev’s that have singularly awful knowledge of MMO game design. Without subscriptions then a game with population and a market this small must be supported by DLC or micro transactions. Period.

Do you think your little $29 up front cost is going to keep the lights on for the servers and that development team to put food on their table for 10.000 hours while they diddle their way through three years of early access? How cute.

If you enjoy the privilege of testing, and want the influence to affect it moving forward, then buy into it flaws and all otherwise you’re just freeloading. Just because we want to support the development of the game and influence it doesn’t mean you have to agree with every decision that was made.

I know it’s a hard concept to grasp for someone limited by their capacities such as you are, but keep trying!
