Ned Loe
HMS Portland HMS Portland was a 50-gun fourth rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, launched at Woolwich Dockyard on 28 March 1693. She was rebuilt according to the 1719 Establishment at Portsmouth, and was relaunched on 25 February 1723. On 17 March 1709, Portland recaptured Coventry, which the 54-gun Auguste and the 54-gun Jason (1704) had captured in September 1704. Portland was broken up in 1743

Captain Armstrong
Sister ship of the leopard of 1790. The first ship in a class of which leopard was the last. http://collectionsonline.nmsi.ac.uk/detail.php?type=related&kv=65424&t=objects Again, the pictures are of the later vessel (launched in 1770) with description of an earlier one. Establishment era vessels are often difficult to find info on because they were built to so many different plans, despite the same dimensions. Malachi
Read Captain Armstrong´s post. The pictures in the OP are showing the Portland launched in 1770.
