Are that flags used on ships or land troops / cities? Because we are only looking for naval flags

Look at Belgium for an example.  Using your arguement, the flags of Lotharingia, Flanders and Brabant, should be available to both the Netherlands or Spanish nations.  I'm not saying its completely wrong, but I'm wondering if it can be taken too far.  On your side of the issue, I would very much prefer the Scottish Royal flag to be available instead of that boring British stuff.

Hi,

many European countries are composed of duchies, kingdoms and counties. If we set the flags only for the core areas (England, Muscowy, Prussia, France, Spain etc.), nobody would buy flags anymore. Then a whole lot of flags would disappear again - and even the survival of the Union of Lithuania and Poland would be questionable.

Come on, look at the French flags of the DLC : an Infantry flag and an ensign used only by Mediterranean galleys, while the warship naval ensign used during 90 years of the 18th century is missing. Vaguely historical seems enough.

Regarding flags: while I can understand selling all flags to be unlocked for a one-time price, will we have any option to unlock these flags individually in-game through missions, rewards, or the like?

If the french actually do have a infantry flag, by all means, give this one to prussia. The majority of prussian flags are just slightly altered versions of the default.

well... my point was actually to make NA more historical, not less (by adding more non-historical flags).

And the more non-historical flag implemented in game for this timeframe, that should be definitely deleted, is the white flag of the surrender system and of the Neutral.

And the French warships should be given back the only naval ensign they used during 115 years out of the 140 years of NA time frame : the white monarchic ensign.

Flags in-game could use some retexture to make it look more like a real flag. Some of the flags are really colored and contrasted, some aren't. And I can't wait to have more flags in my disposal, let's get on with the updates, please! xD

Please... don't 'speak historical'.

The last time you did, you suggested and got in game the flag below, stating it was a napoleonic naval ensign while, in fact, it was a royalist infantry flag...  😂

A Swedish royal naval flag from around 1764 This flag is also believed to be the first royal flag which represents members of the royal house onboard.Sverige_1764_kunglig.jpg

BTW. First of all "royal" is spelled "kungliga" in Swedish. Secondly. The union trade flag looks just like the 1815 warflag except the tongues.

Flags of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta

For future reference , hopefully maybe a Mega Update including the Knights of Malta as a faction among other nations like Portugal etc , or just a new Flag DLC including these Maltese flags that could be used under the French or Spanish Navies .The Knights of Malta had strong Links with both nations ,  actually the Knights bought and managed  4 islands in the Caribbean , Saint Christopher , Saint Martin , Saint Barthelemy and Saint Croix thanks to links with French aristocrats so the French link makes sense , the Knights also had a lot of French nationals in their ranks . Spain had a good relationship with the Order too and many Knights were also of spanish nationality .Back in the Mediterranean It was the King of Spain that gave the island of Malta to the knights and later on the Knights and Maltese corsairs fought side by side with the spaniards in several naval battles.  These Maltese flags could hopefully at least be introduced in the game under one of these two nations like Portuguese flags could be introduced under the Spanish Navy.

The eight pointed Maltese Cross Flag of the order used by the Grand Masters.

The DLC is a bit pricey considering a player tends to stick with one nation.  Nevertheless, I was suckered in.  Need more !

Also, any history folks with insight into the appropriate flags to fly, especially in Royal Navy ships?  For rear Admiral, Vice-Admiral, and Admiral I tend to favor first the Blue, then the white (which give me a break is nearly identical to the default), and then the Red for highest ranking admiral.  That's the closest I can divine the meaning according to the custom of the day, but welcome correction.
