limitation of wood classes in the construction of boats.

Recommended Posts

First of all, I propose this suggestion to open debate among all and whose only objective is to try to improve the game among all. This post is not made to create controversy, simply that it serves as a healthy exchange of ideas. Thank you.

I've been thinking about it for a while. If we look for realism in the game, in the behavior of the boats (moving sails manually, the drift of the current, the rolling etc) what is not logical is that they are built first with fir / fir and that they are faster than second boats and third. We must limit the kind of woods that can be used to build the different classes of ships.

I suggest the following (always orientative, it does not have to be exact)

First class: helmet live oak, planking white oak.

Second class: helmet live oak or caguairán, planking white oak or sabicu.

Third and fourth class: helmet live oak or caguairan or oak, planking white oak or sabicu or oak

Fifth, sixth and seventh class: helmet any wood, planking any wood.

NEVER should be faster a first class than the other classes of boats. Not a second faster than a third etc. Of course there are exceptions, the boats that were created for hunting (endymion, surprise, trincomalee etc) if they would be faster than smaller classes, since they were designed for that. But an Ocean, Santísima Trinidad or Victory were created for line battles, where destroying ships similar to them, were not designed to pursue agamemnons or frigates. To debate gentlemen !!

Greetings to all. and Good hunting !!!!

Same negative opinion (could someone sacrifies and post a single yes?)

Live oak and white oak cannot be found equally easily by all nations. This should limit strongly the 1st rate constructibility for some natons/clans/players. The Victory mark bottleneck scourge is now cleared off and 1st rates are no more limited to the three top RvR nations (killing the other nations), why introducing another limitation?

If this is for historical reasons, just think that in real life, most of ships were just fishing boats, most of others traders with an handfull of 4 and 6 lbs guns.  So if we wish to be historical, let's all sail traders snows (oak/fir) with 8 small guns each, 30 sailors and no marines...

No.

Reason: freedom to customize your ships to suit your gameplay.

And what about the freedom to build the boat the color you want? And what about the freedom to choose where you want combat missions to come from? and what about the freedom to discard more than three times a combat mission? where is the freedom to change the nation without having to buy the DLC? Freedom in the gameplay? Do not make me laugh.

The same goes for teka, copper, bovenwinds, guacata saltpeter, almeria saltpeter, cartagena tar etc. If people talk so much about realism in the game, then realism for everything. do not you think?

I don't have an opinion on the wood.  Just on the economics.  IF you are going to do this then ALL of these things need to come out of some sort of player production building so the current near airtight monopolies aren't possible.

Like in copper.
