Reinforcements update

Recommended Posts

Captains

In one of the nearest patches green protected zones reinforcements will be changed.

Instead of ships of the line local authorities will send veffels vessels that are appropriate to the attacker ship strength.
For example: If 3 frigates rates attack a trader, 3 buffed reinforcement 5th rates will be sent as protection.

Please adjust your trading routes or production accordingly, and spread this information to your nation's officers.

This is a bad idea unless the AI is super buffed. It will be easy for the hunters to keep the AI occupied while still going for the trader.

This mixed with the recent change in green zone RoE will make green zones even bigger PvP zones rather than safe zones. May as well just remove the safe zones altogether rather than give a false impression.

The battle is always open in the green zone! you can always ask for help from your nation. ;)

And look at all the recent reports of battles in the green zone of KPR and how it is a waste of time trying to organise a pick up group against any organised opposition. The new RoE of always open battles in the green zone only made it more attractive to gankers rather than help people defend.

Thanks for destroying the game population once more just to cater to the gankers posse neverending complaints.

This.

Every time a change is made favoring the PVp hunters, the population drops, they complain about a lack of targets and leave as well.

Time will prove me right.

then get an escort ffs.

Or maybe the fleet mechanics will finally be changed, so that you can only take traders into your fleet and you have to escort them yourself (beside one slot for a potential prize (warship or not))

As a solo player it is absolutely annoying to not even be able to attack an enemy frigate because he calls his super coast guard every time. this game is about fighting, rvr and economy. If your nations economy is negatively impacted by raiders, then get hello kittying escorts. Economic warfare is a great part of naval warfare and sadly it is a very minor factor in this game due to the trading and economy mechanics themselves and all the help players get because they can't organize a good protected convoy.

Again another trader hunter that just wishes to sit outside the destination port waiting for their prey to arrive rather than try and work out their trade route and attack them before they reach the green zone.

There are plenty other players claiming that as solo players they cannot find targets to attack, well maybe if they started fighting each other instead of looking for easy targets they would get plenty of action. Its amazing that with all the different nations camping the KPR safe zone that very seldom do the appear to fight each other!!!!

I agree with this.  Although the game needs a bigger population for more to get trader escorts. Fix the UI, add more content, then maybe green zones will not be needed as much. Add coast guard defense PVP missions, along with other types of missions. Sorry for being off topic.

so, that will happen: one ganker starts the battle (and then one reinforcement ship is spawned), then other three gankers join later on (and I guess that the ganked cannot spawn new reinforcement, right?).

No not at all. I didn't visit KPR for a long time. But I like to fight other frigates and if I find one in the giant safe zone it is automatically a no go and they of course don't attack. It is already a challenge to fight one frigate and now an AI frigate too, butt two buffed first rates out of nowhere was just overkill.

+1

There are so many possibilities for user created missions. Escorts, hauls, patrols (not the disguised pvp events now) maybe even missions that causes other missions for the enemy player. Of course the question is if the size of the player base could sustain that at the moment and if the players in general will use them but this large open world needs some innovative content.

This fix is really good.

The traders do not need to be 1000% safe in the zones. This is a OW PvP game, not a trade ship simulation.

This fix will create actions and the need to organize escorts and backups, etc..

And where this cannot be organised players will stop playing. You assume a lot on nation organisation.

Question: what is the intend of this change? I think it´s not so difficult to fend off an attack while a buffed escort ship helps you, so it wont change the live for experienced players. But an unexperienced player will probably die. So you want to reduce safety for noobs ? strange !

Is easy to star the battle with only 1 ship. Then other players (gankers) will come in. You can imagine ... go on with this imaginative ideas... its your game  and its up to spoil it

did you even check how current reinforcement works?

if player clicks reinforcements then local authorities send protection ships UNTIL the end of the battle for every enemy.

As long as trader ships are considered to be targets as warships are, there will be no peace in this matter. Suggestions were made to give any trader a "non combatant" status, unless you are in war with another nation.

Pirates could still attack any trader ship.

But to get this done, alliances would be needed, and not those we had, where the simple clicking on button decides whos allied with whom.

But why are you seeking to fight against someone who is not at that time looking for PvP? The whole point of a safe zone was so people who did not want to PvP could still do things in game, maybe because they did not have the time to go out looking for PvP or maybe they just wanted to test out a new build without risking it in PvP, but the so called hard core PvP'ers appear to make it their mission in game that these players must be attacked. To me it smacks of looking for easy targets rather than go fight the many other so called hard core PvP'ers that are always asking for the same thing.

and not enough players in the PVP server soon. Then you will be wondering why there will be no OS PVP action, and - at least - you will nolonger be able to put the blame on the carebears.
