Little things you'd like to see

Recommended Posts

I'd like to see an historical battle event marker showing the number of ships sitting in a battlescreen cloaked up. As a non-player but an enthusiast of Naval Action, allowing fleets to sit in a past battle cloaked waiting to gank people is not historical in anyway whatsoever. So add a marker showing that a battle happened, and provide information so people approaching can site them and veer away.

I would like to see/hear more whistling noises.  I think that that is one of the coolest parts of battle and its a shame it doesn't happen more often.

Also, how about potentially having high prep/marines do some small amount of ship to ship musket fire resulting in small crew losses.  I think this would realistically, slightly, balance out a fight between a large ship and a more maneuverable smaller ship and just provide for a huge immersion boon.

Also, as a realistic factor, maybe have an extra camera point that is where the captain or pilot would be so we can get a feel like of what its like to stand on the deck in a battle with sails and ropes blocking your view.

That is more or less possible already.

Just go to the games GRAPHICS settings and de-select the "see-through" sails.

The zoom in and out a it in battle, until you get the right position for your view.

Little things you'd like to see .......

How about you FIX all the little things that are broken & release this garbage so we can all move on from this debacle.

IMHO you guys should go back to playing games & let the real talents create games - this is nothing short of a complete rip-off with it's poor coding & completely inept scale of constant reworks. You seem to take years to get simple coding done, what's the hold-up???

Of course the little fan boy army will scream at this but honestly who really cares about fanboys, they are already a burden on society with their moronic one-sided views. LMFAO

Pathetic organizational skills with the barest minimum of interest to the player base, simply going through the motions & pocketing the cash.

It has been done before & is very easy to spot but obviously your not worried about that are you?

If you think this is harsh, send me an email with your complaint & I'll get you sorted real quick.

Hey you pompous jackass, at least we moron fanboys know when to use a conjunction and punctuation! Furthermore, we know how to constructively criticize, rather than just puke out disdain that speaks of absolutely nothing other than one MORON's opinion.

I'm not going to go the route of more name calling.  I'm more interested in whether or not you understand (from a high level, not detailed) how application development works.  It's a lengthy process.  First you code out what you want.  This is a series of (in my opinion) non-intuitive phrases that dictate how the application (in this case game) is supposed to react to a variety of actions.  By variety of actions, I mean ANY action you can think of.  Every button you click, ever item you see, has code affiliated to it  Bear in mind I'm not even talking about graphics at this point, but just how the game reacts to input.  So you've got this huge application, filled with code (which is really just language, we say code because that's what it friggin reads like, encrypted code) and you hope that it works.  If you're a talented developer, it does work with only a 'few' bugs.  Next you have to test, test, test.  Testing can be a significant process, as we all know.  Bugs show up at the strangest times, from the most off-the-wall occurances that you never really think of - at least until some nit-whit decides to do something that no rational human being would do.  Then it's back to finding where the code went wrong.  Keep in mind you have THOUSANDS of entries.  They may be organized in a logical manner, but it's still a time consuming process.

Then, once you think you've figured out the problem, you realize that the only possible solution affects six hundred other entries, and those have to be corrected as well before you can fix that ONE thing.  This is a time consuming process.  You don't like it, no one's forcing you to continue playing.  If you want to play, however, stop being unforgivably rude and make constructive requests for things you'd like to see.

As an addendum, your last little sentence there smacks of internet strength.  Don't threaten people on the internet, it makes you seem like a twit and you never know what other people are capable of, some psycho may hunt you down and make a coat out of your skin.

Little suggestion I'd like to see...

Attacking enemy traders (ai or player) to effect material supply's

Not sure if this is how things work now after ports no longer produce materials and is now all player based. But think it would add a good element to the game,

A) do ai traders transport materials/parts between ports?
B) does attacking these traders effect the ports by taking away the materials destined for those ports?

If not, I think this could be a good element to the game.
1) you could starve the enemy of mats to produce ship/parts to help win an area.
2) newer players can attack ai traders and feel like they are contributing to the war efforts.
3) you could add escorting ai traders for gold/ % of goods.

This tactic has been done in many wars such as subs sinking ships on world wars to starve enemy of supply's .

Just an idea.

Please respond if these have been implemented already as I'm unsure like many if ai traders are just random or actually make a difference.

Please feel free to post any opinion on this topic as I would like to hear what anyone else has to say on this.

By the way devs keep up the great work, really good to see a team wanting to make changes to improve and develop the game. Never seen so much commitment for a game before. ( not sucking up. Just my true congrats )

A ship can have either 2/5 or 3/4, but no 3/5.

Since when? Thought the best ships was 3/5 upgrades or is this since the update? I'm confused. I have 3/5 ships. They are the only ones I keep. The rest I sell.

I like the long sails, I believe that they make the game fun.  I do not like sitting at my computer doing nothing during those long sails.

How about the ability to write a (a few sentences to a few paragraphs, poetry, stories, sea shanties, musings, whatever!) message in a bottle and chuck it over board for another player to randomly find?  RNG ofc.

And of course marines firing their little muskets at enemy crew on ships within range..

I used to do that in DayZ SA. Leaving notes everywhere :)

It is nice when someone finds them and would be a "cool beans" little thing.

At this moment and time the thing I would like to see most is the ability to store more ships, with each new update I am finding it harder and harder to find space for all my beautiful creations. I would like to see maybe 8 slots in the current build, or at least the ability to expand your docking facilities.

Can we please have a setting that we can enable to prevent a small battle from starting if there is only one human player in the waiting queue? Or a 1 minute grace period within the battle instance in which you can leave without losing a durability if it is only you vs AI?

I have played way too many PvE small battles where my opponents left at the last second or I forgot to leave the queue before the small battle initiation timer ran out.

Crew costs could be brought down, but...

Repair costs could be done so that for example 1st rates would always cost you a lot to repair.  For example, you cannot go in battle with 1st rate and earn money.  The same could be with 2nd rate, and for 3rd rates.  For 2nd and 3rd of course less than for 1st.  This would make these ships to be used in a bit more realistic way.

Also the money sink moves to end game players.

1. Rename the "3'rd rate" ...lets say HMS Dragon or something.

2. Rename the "Frigate" Cherubim.

Whats keeping you?!? It cant be that hard of task programming. I dont mind the cutter, the brig or the "Snow". Its not that important. But now that there are other frigates and 3'rd rates it's very confusing in the heat of battle.

2. add back the one circle + 30 sec open PvP battle !!!!!! that old system was much better like now . now is GANKFEST !! cant help clanmate or another national player if they ganked.

I absolutely agree. There is not reason why ships, which are only a small distance away, when the ATTACK happens,

should not be able to join and help their allies.

Another thing I would like to suggest: FREE PORTS should ONLY be allowed for TRADER VESSELS.

That would stop that lurking in and hopping in and out of such ports.
