Now that we have tobacco and sugar (excellent), I would love to see ARMORIES added to the list of buildings we can maintain.

 

Within the armory, you can produce, buy and sell:

- Cannons

- Carronades

- Muskets (new shop product)

- Gunpowder (new shop product)

- Torpedoes

MERCENARIES: could change their names ONLY if participating in war between other nations than their own.Of course not for free.When the war is over , they return back to their nations.Time limited.

 

MISSION MERCHANT/CONVOY ESCORT: Everyone maybe knows how it feels to ship 300-500 Compass Wood, or Tobacco through OW. Having AI fleet around is a good thing, but only high ranks can allow

                                                                   themselves strong AI escorts, considering new CREW management.Under this circumstances new or lower ranked players cant have such, and

                                                                   many times its just matter of luck :wacko::(

                                                                   reaching destination.A market for ESCORTING, as a submarket of MISSIONS would consider this "newbie trader gap", and (as i mentioned else-

                                                                   where),and a loan/fee of 5-8%of the cargo value, plus fixed XP(IF THE TRADER CAN REACH THE PORT) would maybe provide more fun,thrill,

                                                                   XP and gold,than SMALL battles, where the enemy mostly runs away,when the odds arent good:-)

Your ship is sinking, and you press surrender.  You exit the battle, and the ship sank.  You saved your crew, and the enemy got nothing.  Not cool.

 

So...

 

Your ship is leaking and you press surrender.  Your men will be saved ONLY, if the battle ends before the ship sinks.  If enemy does not leave the battle, they can watch your crew going with the ship.

 

If you surrender before your ship is sinking -> Your men are free to go.

Just to clarify..  If you surrender when your ship is sinking..  If the enemy leaves, your men are free to go, and the enemy gets your ship.

If you just log in, you have to tediously sort out what is going on... So I would like to see a orange transparent circle (like the white circle we already have for the current port location) around every port for which a flag was bought and a red transparent circle for every port which has a port battle running. When moving the mouse over the port you should get an info who bought the flag. So you can sail at once (if you can reach the port in time) ....

that effect could never happen on a sailship - this wake is for a battleship or cruiser going 30 knots at least

 

You could just scale it. Or rather if you have your ocean as a single 3D mesh and script it to displace, bend and fold around the ship when weight and velocity is added, essentially creating a wake some what similar to the video.

I liked what Legion suggested with the mast and rigging damage models, I think I said something about crew training in an earlier post, but just to repeat, in ow, the ability to set crew excercises, as a real ship would do, ie gunnery drills and the like.

 

I just want the Pirate Frigate to become a craftable ship for the Pirate faction only, makes no sense to me we cannot craft it, and can only have a 2 slot ship.

 

Naming vessels, is a must, but like has been said, they have to be proper names, not some random mess of initials and numbers, or anything stupid like HMS I pumped the neighbours cat......or other such silliness hahahaha

 

a customisation facility for your ship, again , no silly bright bubble gum pink hulls !! it would be nice to eventually see decorations such as figure heads and stern detailing, I would love to see a Pirate Frigate with the stern gallery off of the Renomee for example

 

another thing I would love to see at some point, is crew actually working the sails, I know it would be a real pain to do, but it would be nice eye candy.

 

 

STORM DAMAGE !! also the need to adjust sail so that you dont lose masts in a storm, also heavier seas during a storm would be superb.

All these are great. And the rat frig should simply be a mod made to the frig and not a full craft.

Maybe a ship mod should be allowed for each ship, like removing weather decks and castles like some of the modded ships of the past.

when we are able to walk around in towns id like to see, in the inn/tavern/salooon/pub some poker tables where players can sit down and play poker for ingame currency. This was in the potc online game and was very fun tbh =)

I think it shouldn't be possible so easily to LEAVE a fight.

We do not even loose our ship, when we fight to the end and get sunk -

so why should anyone be allowed to chicken out like this?

 

I would plea for either a fight-time of at least 90 minutes, or that the chased person can only get out

of a fight, when he managed to sail away far enough that it is sure you cannot get him anymore.

 

All these fights, which suddenly end by popping-out opponents make it feel wrong to me.

what about one dura ships like the santi and vic? we dont get to keep them if we sink. just because something is unrealistic doesn't mean its bad. this is at the end of the day a game not real life. and if they do pop leave and chase them down and get closer so they can not do that again.

I think that the escape feature should only be available after a certain distance away from the closest enemy. I'm thinking the timer should start counting down after you've gained a distance of at least 1000 or more yards, maybe even 2000 idk.

That's kind of like it works now with AI.  Even if the timer runs out, if you're close enough they don't escape.  If you're out of range then they do.

I'd love to see a working measure against the "free port lurking" business.

 

I hate it when people can hop in and out like that - you can't get at them, but when you leave

the harbour, THEY can get after you - often with stronger forces.

 

I know, that some kind of protection is necessary for those who want to reach such ports.

But the momentary standard is not sufficient IMHO.

 

I must confess that I don't have any working idea yet, which would still guarantee the positive effects we have now.

Shipwrecks should have MC upgrades mostly.

 

With a good roll Exceptional.  I mean a GOOD ROLL.

 

And bottles change should be 1/10 from what it is now.

 

...

 

And I know we are in alpha, and testing, nothing bad in that.  But do not know why you want to over test ruined economy.  Nothing to gain or to learn in this one.

How about the drop rate decreases AND it controls for the speed of ships? There are ships outside capitals that do nothing but fishing all day and... dropping bottles eventually.

Think it should go for Fishing in general, not fishing at full sail not at 0 speed

Wouldn't it be great, if one could personalise the paintjobs for each ship?

 

I understand that it may not be possible to provide us with an own painting device to make own "skins".

But a choice of 3 - 5 paintjobs per ship would be great.

Or, like some sims and games had: selectable areas, like the cannon deck stripe - you can select one from many colours.

Same for the hull, and the masts etc.

 

That would be a dream-come-true for me!

would be for me to i always on potbs picked colors that clased with another amazingly id like to do that here (looks at the yellow and black ships)
