They are not secure and there could be rogue players reading them and passing the information along to the enemy. Please be careful when saying sensitive information in national chat or global chat - loose lips can sink ships. Only personal chat, and group chat is secure. Clan chat is secure too if you know that you have no spies inside the clan.
